Wow I was lost for weeks before I found the reason I couldn't post anywhere I tried.

That would have been so annoying if you were trying to get in on a topic you read, and just couldn't since you had to wait for a while.
Yowsers, that would've been a show-stopper even for me. The current rules are extremely reasonable by comparison.

Newbie jail is a great way to filter the riff raff, good chaps. Other than generating profoundly insightful comments like this one.

It stops spambots from filling up the main forums with spam, while still allowing users to retain their anonymity.
