I guess it's the early bird thing or FOMO, newbies are late and they want to find their project where they are the early bird so they look on new projects hoping to stumble their own early bird project they can call their own, in so doing they became a victim of scams.

But newbie mostly don't know how to Keep holding instead all they want is to Profit immediately .

But for those ready to invest in long time then Yeah top 10 currency is the perfect choices.
In my Folio i have Bitcoin and also other Altcoins,but i also have tokens that i believe to have a good future.

that 10-15% most likely not legit,because the truth is out of 100 only 1-5 % is legit and those more than 95% are shits.

well, i agree with your opinion, it's not just for the newbie, all investors who want to find safe and reduce the risk of losing a lot of money can choose a coin that is ranked 1-5 in CMC.

but for some people do prefer to invest in new coins because even though the risk of losing is very large but the benefits will also be very much. that's why there are still some people who prefer to invest in new projects.

in fact, most of them think that the potential for new coins is the same as the potential for the top coins that are above. however, they lack information so that they feel that new coins or even scams look like bitcoin. Well, even for myself now, I still choose the top altcoin to hold, like ethereum. I think that it's safer compared to trying new coins.

But in all this, the reality still remains that, as a newbie, going after top coins is the best because in so doing, they (newbies) will be relaxed while watching their assets grow and in the same process learning thus trying new things while having the right knowledge.

Most newbies want to make a quick profit, because of that they can fall easily into scams. But l agree on that, top altcoins investment is safer than in new projects. It is not easy to get information about the crypto-world, as you know it will take long time for newbies to learn everything about this world. During this time top altcoins investment is the best choice.

Also newbies are not able to distinguish between a scam project and a good project. They should seek help from the other forum members which are old here on the forum and they can help selecting a good project to invest into. Also a lot of coronavirus coins are coming up lately because people want to capitalize on the HYPE that coronavirus is providing, see for dogecoin, it was just a troll coin and today it is having total market cap of $300 million.

That's true, on the other hand, bitcoin still prove to us that even after those worst experience we have, it is still far greater than altcoins,

Also, I agree with what you have said, most of the time, people only consider an altcoin as a safe investment if they can easily recover after a dump. That is how they consider investing in altcoins and start recommending with other investors.
