and deleted my old peers.dat (I deleted everything but not wallet.dat),  but nothing, wallet opens but remains "out of sync" and indicating "0 active conection(s)".

You could try backing up the wallet.dat and installing a fresh wallet, then drop the file back in. Also have you checked for the bad block?

I've already installed a fresh wallet.  How can I check for the bad block?

The instructions are on post 3 of this thread, if your still having trouble the DEV team checks here often and I'm sure they would be happy to help you out.

I have checked the blockchain (post 3) , no solution Sad     I want to start mining but I do not want to do it until I have the wallet.

As far as speed goes... sure X11 lets you hash faster than Scrypt... but it is all relative... everyone is hashing faster.  The big draw is the reduction on power usage and heat.  Would love to see more coins head for X11 and less for scrypt.

Those big draws are an optimized miner away from disappearing, people will always trade more heat/power for greater hash.  The problem with X11 is that it is still quite new so it is hard to say whether it will become a standard like scrypt or fade quickly like heavy once optimizers get to tackle it.

That said, the pool will likely get supported in the future but the priority was clearly on getting sha2 & scrypt up and running first.

And so it begins! 88k for sale, 14 btc buys! How i wish i had 1% of total nrs coins ;( That is my mission, i do not think i will be able to do it though.

any chance of implementing X11 into pool btw ?

Definitely looking into adding additional algorithms.   Grin

Keep in mind what you're seeing is only the very beginning.  This isn't just a set it and forget it pool and we've got an awesome team we're working with.

The team and concept looks more than promising, I just hoped for x11 in multipool, its really hot this time of year round where I come from ^^

X-11 is certainly popular, but i think there is just slightly more demand for scrypt and sha, but i am sure it is in the works!

What would the difference be anyway? Between scrypt and x-11? Just the coins it mines for profit?

I like using X11 because my GPU rigs run much cooler and draw less power.  That makes the GPU cards last longer and I don't have to worry about heat so much during the summer.

As far as speed goes... sure X11 lets you hash faster than Scrypt... but it is all relative... everyone is hashing faster.  The big draw is the reduction on power usage and heat.  Would love to see more coins head for X11 and less for scrypt.

Thanks for the answers.

I downloaded again the 64 bit version of the wallet from the official page www.noirds.com (v0.1.3.0-g99999-Barwizi), I added at the config file the line from http://nrs.argakiig.us/bc_api.php?request=getpeerinfo

You could try backing up the wallet.dat and installing a fresh wallet, then drop the file back in. Also have you checked for the bad block?

Wallet build on Linux (Mint) fails with the following error:
Code:
/usr/bin/ld: unrecognized option '--large-address-aware'
/usr/bin/ld: use the --help option for usage information
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

Was building this way (from the latest git):
Code:
qmake-qt4 NoirShares-qt.pro
make

Please advise.
couple things. you will need to adjust the .pro for linux as it is currently setup for windows. you will need to adjust for your libraries to point at the correct locations. also your going to need to comment out a couple things as well that are specific to windows builds.

Hm... I'm not that professional to have it done. Couldn't dev had just put another .pro for Linux build? Haven't had such problems with other coins.

Just the coins it mines for profit?

tbh x11 is latest tech stuff, better for our cards in many ways, from the little I know about the scene, it seems like watt costs and gpu performance is of great importance!

Hi everybody.

I am new here. I like the proyect and I want to be part of it.

Yesterday I downloaded and installed the wallet but it does not work and I can not fix it.

When I open the wallet remains "Out of sync" and on the bottom right there are 2 computers with the red cross ("0 active connections").

I created the configuration file (NoirShares.conf) with this content:

upnp=1
DNSSEED=1
daemon=1
server=0
listen=1
testnet=0
maxconnections=100
4way=1
gen=0
genproclimit=2

rpcuser=

rpcconnect=127.0.0.1

... but that did not fixed the problem.

I tried shutting down the antivirus and firewall, but nothing...

Any idea of what may be happening ?

Thanks.

Wallet build on Linux (Mint) fails with the following error:
Code:
/usr/bin/ld: unrecognized option '--large-address-aware'
/usr/bin/ld: use the --help option for usage information
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [NoirShares-Qt] Error 1

Was building this way (from the latest git):
Code:
qmake-qt4 NoirShares-qt.pro
make

Please advise.
