Does anyone have Antminer Z11 for sale? Or a couple of them?

I think the success or failure of Filecoin will ultimately be where it gets listed. If a large exchange like Binance or Bitfinex lists it then I can see it being very profitable. However currently most of the volume is on one exchange Bitforex and volume only $20million daily.

It also looks like this is only a futures at the moment. So when the real supply actually hits the exchange the price can easily shift one way or another. Remember what happened to Bitcoin Diamond price after Binance enabled deposits? It tanked instantly.

I have 6 cent power 100 amp 240 line and still can't find anything exciting to build or buy.  I want to buy a btc asic but with the having I'm not sure its a good idea.  I keep running my 120 gpus and most are 3 years old waiting for a good opportunity.  I do have 12 5700s that are doing very well but with the NVIDIA 3000 series this year I'm not too hot on buying anymore gpus.  i've been buying BTC instead.

Even with this pump, are those Ryzen builds worth it?

Who knows.  I do like to support monero because the developers do fight asics.

I run

3x  3900x
1x  2700x
1x  3700x

1x threadripper.

and I am going to build

1x  3800x

7 rigs   use about  2600 watts or 63 kwatts a day  just under 2000 kwatts a month  which in the winter for me is 200 dollars in power.  I need earn 7 dollars daily to make 10 bucks back  which is a really long roi.

But I have lots of parts.  and some of my x370 boards were upgraded to run amd 3000 series.

those 7 rigs cost me well under 7k  and  had earned better money in 2018.

Do I advise anyone to build a lot of these  no.

Do I advise anyone to build 1 if they have a good power spot no they should build 2.

I have a lot of gear running on good power deals.  50-50 coin splits  these deals always earn ½ the coins mined.

They allow me to fuck around and run the 7 units in the house at next to break even.

No one should be doing what I do in just my house with 10 cent power.

If you are at 6 cents  these builds should turn profit.

Philip.... whats a good entry level building blocks for AMD Ryzen 3900X (or better) mining rig? mobo, RAM, etc. Thanks

Okay this mobo is decent

https://www.newegg.com/asrock-x570-pro4/p/N82E16813157886?

this cooler

https://www.newegg.com/cooler-master-masterliquid-ml240l-rgb-liquid-cooling-system/p/2YM-0004-00015?

ram is a tough call  as this mobo says it can do 32gb ram sticks so down the road you could use 4 32gb ram sticks and mine filecoin

or just use any 2 sticks of 8gb ram like these

https://www.newegg.com/corsair-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820233852?

I went with 2x 8gb = 16gb for my builds

I used a nvme for ssd

filecoin might be the holy grail of ASIC resistance. - will this gain/bring value? we will see.
It's a lot harder for me to justify building something to mine this though. You're talking multiple thousands in hardware for a single unit.

not really multiple, more like 1000 - 2000$ ...for a rig, existing miners already have gpu, cpu(randomx miner's already have this), psu.

expenses will be, 128gb kits, nvme, satas and hdds and frame/case. expenses are like just buying  an extra 1 to 2 nvidia 2080 cards for existing miners.

some boards can support 32gb x 4 = 128gb, non threadripper boards can pull it off BTW, hence cheaper cpu and motherboard for the PC.

literally 1 cpu 1 vote no?... more like 1PC 1 vote LOL

that's why i said earlier up post that ryzen randomX rigs might do a little upgrade to pull it off. that's why we are here in crypto BTW we are gambling with time and money  Wink

I spent 235 to upgrade the threadripper build  from 64 to 128gb

I have 3 ryzen 9 3900x builds I would need to buy 4x 32gb sticks of ram thats = too much money

https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Technology-ValueRAM-KVR24R17D4K4-128/dp/B01FM3GJ9A/ref=sr_1_19?

419 a kit

https://www.newegg.com/corsair-128gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820236609?

589 a kit

and this one

https://www.ebay.com/itm/CORSAIR-Vengeance-LPX-128GB-4-x-32GB-288-Pin-DDR4-SDRAM-DDR4-2400-PC4-19200/293188987765?

559

I am Not spending this much. To upgrade a rig.

It means all the ram in the rig usually 2x 16gb is going to waste..

And 559 an up grade x 3 = 1700+ with the tax.

I will see how the upgrade on the threadripper goes

I guess I'm old and jaded at this point. I don't see this succeeding when other coins have the same capabilities either entirely (burst/sia) or as a feature of an already greater feature set (PIRL)

i'm open minded for what might become of it...since they are all different, doesn't mean if you can store something using blockchain tech, the problem is solved.

besides i don't know if this storage thingy with all of them has already secured the "real storage" part because i've already tried a fake chinese usb flash disk a long time ago.

it will trick the system like this-->I have a 4gb space..you put files, it writes and then when you copy back it still does but the file "is corrupted" hehe

funny, right now at first glance, filecoin is the most ASIC resistant because you need all of this to be working.
- needs powerful enough multi core cpu
- needs powerful enough gpu
- needs drive space...what if increasing space/and speeding up (SSD vs HDD) increases rewards?
- needs the latest RAM max capacity for boards/modules, what if the RAM is increased from 128gb to 256gb...(future 512gb, 1tb...) you get more rewards ?

while right now, to beat ASICs this is the current solutions..

XMR - only a cpu algo can do it because..
ETH - a growing DAG utilizing GPU ram because..
RVN - a special GPU algo sauce because..
ProgPOW - a special GPU algo sauce because..

filecoin might be the holy grail of ASIC resistance. - will this gain/bring value? we will see. well..I mean look at ETH, that was supposed to be a gas to fuel a world computer, it just become another money LOL  Cheesy

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/filecoin/

https://filecoin.io/

Is this another Siacoin, Burstcoin wannabe?

Personally storage doesnt need a blockchain.... IMHO

this will give a good overview of what might be in terms of mining.

https://filecoin.io/blog/filecoin-testnet-mining/

I think storage blockchain solution is still experimental, who knows? filecoin might got things right or not.

gpu's are also involved BTW but not designed to be the main mining aspect.

How is filecoin different than the many other similar sounding projects out there..?

I yet to find links to its website so I have no idea.

But if it requires 128gb ran and a good cpu it prevents asic attacks.

Anything that prevents asic attacks is okay by me.

But more is needed then just that.

I spent a year supporting bitcoininterest and they failed.

Bitcoin Interest – Thank you everyone!

Its been a really great journey everyone and before anything we want to thank everyone who has been a part of it.

But like all journeys this one is coming to an end. This will be the last month of support for BCI. Unfortunately there just was not enough desire for this coin and because of that it has become too costly to run. We will be looking for another group to take the coin over if there is enough want/interest. We will leave up all the code on GitHub for users to fork/clone/etc.

Thank you everyone!

my thread ripper has 4 sticks of 16gb ram  I was able to find 4 matching sticks for 255 usd

a few coupons and I spent about 225 to go from 64 to 128gb ram.

I will have to look at website  and figure out how to mine the new coin but  spending 225 to go from 64 to 128gb ram is a no brainer.

this is the link for  the ram

https://www.ebay.com/itm/16GB-DDR4-2133MHz-PC4-17000-DIMM-Crucial-CT16G4DFD8213-Equivalent-Memory-RAM/323845681783?

if you have a threadripper mobo it is pretty cheap   to do the upgrade  it is 60 a stick.

I will soon 8 sticks  of 16gb ram.  this ram  clocks to 2666 and 15 timing pretty easy.

I have a 1920 thread ripper. on a taichi  str4 mobo.

never thought that my 80gb sata hdds in my gpu rigs will live to meet 256gb RAM rigs LOL

Yeah 2017 was a nice year.

I second that.

I third that, those were the days circa 2016-2017
