Been trying for several weeks to get a L3+ or two at a decent price and they keep going up.  Finally got 2 today for $1200 total with no PSU.  Got a couple of extra HP 1200's laying around, so that works out. Hope they are legit, as they supposedly have a bunch more.  Paid with Paypal, so not too worried.

'The right to privacy matters'
So I read an article last night, saying that Nvidia was re-nerfing the 3060's.  I hadn't followed this super closely since none were available to buy, but I think my understanding was this:
 - They came from the factory nerfed for mining.
 - They accidently released a driver update that didn't have the nerfification applied, and tried to retract it, but ooops, too late - it's out in the wild and everybody downloaded it to bypass the nerf.
 - Now they plan to release all new GPUs with another update that re-nerfs the boards.

So my question is, can we all still just re apply that accidental driver update to bypass again?  I know nothing of modding or updating GPUs yet, I'm not messing with the rig I bought unless I have to.  Just leaving everything running as is.  But I am curious for these future boards.  Will we be able to override them?

seems like they will prevent that. heres an article from anandtech explaining it a bit. a small quote below.

In short, NVIDIA has tweaked future RTX 3060 cards to require this driver (or newer), which will prevent them from using older drivers that can bypass NVIDIA’s hash limiter. As a result, RTX 3060 cards shipping starting in mid-May will once again be fully locked down against running Ethereum at full (native) speed.

missed the shuffle.

the 3060 makes money mining octopus.

it burns about 115 watts say 3kwatts a day.

or 60 cents with 20 cent power.

it earns 3.30

so 3.30- .60 is $2.70 daily profit.

150 days is 405 return. I paid 428 for my card.

So I think that nerfing it for eth is simply a waste of time.

The card has a three year warranty.

so that is 1000 days. if it clears 2.70 a day it makes over 2700 in three years. mining octopus.

frankly if you have a chance to make 2700 in three years for 428 it would be a steal.

which is why they are wasting their time attempting to nerf the card.

I am still batting 0% with the Shuffle also.  Missed a few days but other than that been entering every day since probably mid March.  I would just like to complete out my 8 GPU rig, which currently has 5 cards in it.  Was going to pull the 3080 out of the system its in and put it in there but leaning towards selling it now.  Rather stick to 3060/3070's in it.

Yeah the 3080 pulls solid power.

I would prefer 3060ti or 3070 for large rigs.

That's insane!  That's like 25% win rate.

Just checked my emails and I'm 0 for 29. Maybe today will be lucky number 30.  LOL

I think it was simply a function Of trying in Late Jan Feb or March,

I think it fell down for everyone in late March and April.

Too many bots with fake ips fake emails and fake addresses allow for 10x the chance of a single person that is legit.

I also think everyone is now signed up for the shuffle.

As it is a shot at making good money even if you just flip the card on craigs list.

And lost again.

Maybe on Friday.

I was 4 of 7 back in early March... now I'm 6 of 32. Yuck...

much like you.

Maybe just a bit better.  but last win was April 1st.

Same here.  I did much better in the earlier months and it's been a very dry April.

I picked just one of the 3070s.  Will try this strategy for a spell.

Tomorrow night at 10pm my time I'm hoping to snag a 50th anniversary star wars lego set for my boy's birthday.  I'm worried that the bots will all beat me to it too.  LOL.

theres a white asus RTX3090 with phils name written all over it in todays, starts in about 1/2 hour.

Would be nice

I think its just over run with bot accounts now.

yeah

I'm going to try a new approach for a bit.  I'm only going to pick one card out of the whole offering.  Maybe the "random" algorithm "randomly" picks gamers over miners.

may as well give it a shot.

I did really good with the shuffle from MY birthday in Jan until April 1.

I had 7 or 8 wins.

They screwed me out of a white card  and aorus and never did anything to fix it.
I won a cpu that I did not buy.
I may have even won a pny 3090 and stupidly turned it down.

But I did get.

1x 3090 evga
1x 3070 evga
1x 3060 evga
1x 3070 msi
1x 6700 asus
1x 6800 msi

Best Buy sold me a pny 3090 and then said they did not have it.

So I am really pissed at Best Buy I basically feel they owe me close to 1000 dollars.

I am less pissed at New Egg. Since I did get 6 cards from them.

I have not won since April 1st.

yeah some really high end mobos that were old got pushed.

I have not won since April 1.  Getting tired of losing.

I ordered 2 laptops from best buy they came they are meh. I will very likely return them.

I ordered an Alienware tower for 1600 with a 3060ti. I got a few coupons so it was 1500.  meh.

I think It could be done for me to order any gear.

Yes everything is a bundle now.  That's their way of getting rid of excess inventory I guess.

yeah i kinda wondered if the bundles stuff was slow selling stock they want gone. i see a lot of the same thing spread over several cards over and over.

They probably noticed 90% of people were only selecting GPU's and not the bundles  Roll Eyes
