In the past, everytime i was ready to sell off my gpus, it was the perfect time to scale up.

unfortunately i don't feel that way yet, so still more pain to come  Cheesy

This is a paradox of GPU mining. Cards are cheapest when there is no reason to mine and expensive when mining is rewarding. People who make out the best are those who buy cards when it's not worth mining and then mine on those cards, or even resell those cards when prices go up. 4GB RX 480s going for $170 used on eBay last month was a perfect opportunity to exit with 4GB cards. Now with the next gen NAVI cards coming out those rx cards should finally drop below $100.

If there are 1,000,000 4gb cards mining on windows  doing

30,000,000 mh

they will drop to
18,000,000 mh by dec 21

the whole network is https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate

267,000 gh or
267,000,000 mh

the real question is.  how much hash rate is 4gb cards
how much is 4gb on linux
how much is 4gb on windows.

if 267,000,000 mh is whole network

and 30,000,000 mh is windows 4gb
with 50,000,000 mh at linux 4gb

we are going to drop in hash

well so far I am okay at nicehash 49 a day = 1500 a month.

I got 3300 back so far
I spent 9750

so I am 6450 but at 1500 a month

4 months maybe 5 and I am  good

btw btc is near 12000 and most of my gear is still at nicehash.

A bump to 15 or 16k would help.

If 4gb gear drops off this could take off again.

If not I will sell off gpus. Huh

Looks like the wind has been pulled from the sails for DeFi. ETH blocks are down to about 2.5ETH in rewards and revenue is about 1/2 what it was 10 days ago, 1/3 what is was 20 days ago. Whoever bough a bunch of new hardware better be in it for the long haul.

I'm curious as to how hard RVN and ETC are going to get hit these next 2 weeks.

It was fun to watch traffic pickup on mining discords knowing this was a temporary bump.

And 80% down from a few weeks ago. There was a point when my AwesomeMiner setup was projecting over $5,000 a month income. Currently showing ~$1,100  Cry

viabtc pays $ 0.0219 an mh or $1.09 a day per amd 5700 xt

so 24 x 135 = 3.2 kwatts at 10 cents or 32 cents power cost

1.09-.32= 77 cents a day

  77 dollars for 100 days
154 dollars for 200 days
231 dollars for 300 days
308 dollars for 400 days

at 10 cent power

at free power

109 dollars for 100 days
218 dollars for 200 days
327 dollars for 300 days
426 dollars for 400 days

so break even is about 300 - 400 days

now 4gb gear may drop off and help this to move to

200-300 days.

put the rigs on ethermine for example and they should stop crashing.  I dont have anything on nicehash eth related anymore.  Now rigs are rock stable.

I moved a rig to viabtc so far it is very very very solid.

yeah i mine a rig with kapow because it has a 4gb cards and three 6gb cards.

it runs and runs and runs.

but my eth- nicehash-phoenix rigs crash. some won’t  reset without hard power off.

agreed, most stable would be to mine one dagger coin and stick to it, and restart on DAG change.  Anybody using TRM latest update ?  I had stability issues before but I'll test them out vs phoenix soon see who has better reported hashrate on my gear.  I heard TRM would win.

The algo is not suitable for multi-coin pools. It's not something the miner can deal with, it
can't reliably tell whether new work from the stratum server is for the a different coin or just
a new job for the current coin.

Each coin requires its own server so a coin switch is handled the same as an algo switch.
Some multipools can workaround this by allowing users to mine a specific coin.

I have cgminer still running on my single solo mining blockeruptor.  I still have a bunch of old miners in my forgotten altcoins folder, like QTminer.
I still want a 3080 but to be honest the new AMD gpus are going to be awesome.  I hope.  The 5700 is discontinued, 5700XT is too expensive now and the 3080 is impossible to actually buy today.  That leaves us with only big navis in a month.  I shall wait.  Also if u use nicehash for mining ETH depending on your setup, sometimes it switches to crazy fast dag coins and that can cause your rigs to experience errors/reboot.

Yes this is actually why I stopped mining any type of DaggerHashimoto type of coins on Nicehash. Same with mining any Dagger altcoins with Claymore because I could never for the life of me find a way to make the DAG switch stable so it doesn't crash a rig.

Even back in 2016 when I mined Ethereum using ethminer (miner included with ethereum wallet) every 5 days all my rigs would crash during the new DAG. You could see this live because if you went to ethstats you would see that the hashrate immediately drops after a new DAG.

Then when Claymore came out it was fixed whenever a new DAG came out, but you couldn't mine any alt dagger coins with Claymore because the dev fee would switch back to ETH. The constant switching back and forth eventually crashed a GPU or two.

I have 4 amd 3900x cpus

I have 2 amd thread rippers  3960x 3970x

thread rippers cost too much forget them.

I like my

Asrock x570m

 https://www.newegg.com/asrock-x570m-pro4/p/N82E16813157887?Item=N82E16813157887

I water cool the amd ryzen 9 3900x

I run 1 amd 5700 card on it.

Thanks Philip, I'm looking this model right now
Here in my country the prices of motherboards are insane, more than GPUs for example, it's hard to find honest price on X570 mobos

I'm not looking for thread rippers, but this 3900x, looks so good and strong to mine, use in my PC and have a decent price to sell after some time

To all I have 6 emails. That I use daily. I am now getting 100 fishing emails a day. Most are for some kind of crypto.
Some are for amazon
some are for Netflix
some are for apple.

I guess hackers are stuck inside and are trying more and more and more.

yes its malware and tries to steal wallet info. that exact post (its a copy past every time) is been spammed in claymores thread like every day. i always report it and the mods remove it. soon as they do another post, exactly the same, pops up again. i reported this one too.

i removed the link when i quoted this.
