As expected, the match between Pakistan and Zimbabwe turned out to be another one sided affair. The Zimbabwe batsmen did a somewhat decent job, but their bowlers failed once again. I don't understand the point in having a series such as this one, between two teams of unequal strength. Zimbabwe needs to be kept out, at least until their performance improves.

What can you expect from this tournament all matches will be one-sided with Pakistan dominating all three. Ironically the last two matches Pakistan was not able to beat Zimbabwe convincingly. I was expecting a good victory from yesterday's match like 8 wicket win but unfortunately, that does not seem to happen. Expecting a convincing win by Pakistan in the last ODI.

As expected, Pakistan have started good in the 3rd ODI also and they are struggling at 62/3 at the end of 15. The run rate seems right for Zimbabwe but they have lost more wickets. Other teams may have recovered from this score but considering zimbabwe, it will be hard from them to establish a partnership from here and try to reach at least 250.

Although Zimbabwe lost the series but i don't agree that they should not play tournaments and series with big teams. These series will help them to find their mistakes and become a better team. If they don't play international cricket, their performance can never be improved.

Then the same logic should be applicable for teams such as Scotland and Nepal, right? They never get a chance to play against the bigger teams, while Zimbabwe plays 95% of their matches against such teams. I have no problem if Zimbabwe plays 50% of their matches against the top teams. But why can't the ICC ask them to play the remaining 50% against teams such as Scotland?

I don't want to blame the Pakistan players. The Zimbabweans are not putting any pressure on them, and as a result the Pakistan players are getting complacent. They may be asking themselves what they are getting even if they win the series 3-0. There is hardly any media coverage outside Pakistan, and the fans are after IPL. A triangular or quadrangular series would have added more interest, but then conducting such a large tournament may not be possible for the PCB during this pandemic period.

I agree with you. It would have been more enjoyable if Pakistan play against Bangladesh or Afghanistan. Then the series will more exciting. Zimbabwe should have hosted a series with a team like Canada or Kenya.

I very rarely see Zimbabwe playing against the associate nations such as Scotland or Netherlands. 90% of the time, they play against the test nations. If they play against the smaller nations, then it could have been mutually beneficial. The matches would be competitive and the players from the associate nations would get a chance to play against quality payers such as Brendan Taylor and Sean Ervine.

The reason Pakistan is playing against Zimbabwe might be they are not able to get a series against any other team and considering we are still in a pandemic they wanted some competition and match practice for the players as there were not playing for a long time. looking at their standard Zimbabwe should play against their level of competition but playing against Pakistan could help the players to become better.

Very true, Zimbabwe need to play good against teams like Pakistan and India, if they want to grow and give some tough competitions to the big teams like England. Today Pakistan completely outclassed them and also won the series.
I could understand if you say that they should perform well against Pakistan but India is ranked two and they are really close to England in taking over the number one spot and if they have a series then the ranking could change and India will move to the number one spot. Zimbabwe is not a competition for Pakistan and Bangladesh so there is no way they would stand a chance against India Wink.
Now Zimbabwae need some good time and better infrastructer to settle things for a good and fighter team because recently too many problems hurts them very badly and now they are very low in ranking and standard for them teams like Afghanistan and Ireland ok going against high ranked is not competition.

Zimbabwe really looks hopeless. If they are unable to compete against teams such as Pakistan, then I wonder how they will perform against teams such as England and Australia. The four experienced players (Brendan Taylor/Sean Williams/Craig Ervine/Sikandar Raza) are getting the runs, but none of the others in the playing XI are giving them any sort of support. Bowling in particular looks awful, with the absence of players such as Kyle Jarvis.

Zimbabwe will bat first in the 2nd ODI. They are looking to bowl under the lights and give their opponent a tough fight if they are able to make some good runs on the board.

Zimbabwe side remain unchanged for this match however Pakistan team has made a couple of changes in their line up. Haider Ali and Musa Khan are making their debut in today's match.

Zimbabwe looks in deep trouble and they may give a target of around 200 runs which is very much achievable on this flat wicket. Surprisingly Shaheen Shah Afridi did not took any wicket today however Iftikhar Ahmed took five wickets and will be the man of the match, if pakistan wins.
SC Williams was the only batsmen who played well and scored 75 runs. Rest of the batsmen were not able to stay on the wicket.
Its seems that Zimbabwe hopes of leveling the series will end today. They played good in the first match but showed a poor performance in today's match.

Pakistan made 281 runs in their 50 overs which is quite a reasonable score in ODI. I don't understand why you call it an average performance ?
Zimbabwe have lost 4 wickets and the overs are running out of their hand. I am sure Pakistan will easily win this match by big margin of at least 80-100 runs.
It is an average performance. If Pakistan could score 281 with a team like India, England or Australia. Then i would call that is a good score. But against a team like Zimbabwe ,it is a very poor score. The Pakistan team should have scored more than 300. I can't be satisfied of them even if they will win the match.

Even if Zimbabwe lost the todays match, i would still think they should consider themselves winners. Scoring above 250 runs against a strong team like Pakistan is a big achievement for them. Pakistan should improve their performance else Zimbabwe team can give them upset in the future matches of the series.
However Shaheen Shah Afridi took 5 wickets and was the star of the evening.
I agree with you. Zimbabwe played much much better. 255 is not a bad score against a bowling specialist team like Pakistan. But i expected a better innings from Pakistan. If they won't able to improve themselves and can't give a bigger target in the next match then i think they will lose the next match against Zimbabwe.

First of all, a win is a win and the winner is Pakistan. This was just the first match and Pakistan will further improve in the coming matches. Zimbabwe did played well but it is hard for them to beat Pakistan in their  homeland.

A win is a win but winning convincingly and just winning makes the difference. Pakistan being a better team than zimbabwe I expected them to score beyond 300 and restrict them to 250. But, there is always a difference between expectation and reality.

Sometimes the small teams also play good cricket and it hard to beat them by big margins always. However i Expect Pakistan to shake off the rust and hit the next gear in second ODI. Batsmen and bowlers both need to perform well in the tomorrow's match and they cant count on Shaheen Afridi to rescue them always.

Look at the Zimbabwe bowlers. None of them have any experience. I have heard about Blessing Muzarabani a few times, but none of the other names sound familiar. If against such an attack Pakistan can't make a total of 300, that too at home, then I am not very optimistic about their chances against big 3 teams. The victory margin was also quite small and unimpressive.

The way Brendon Taylor was going to play, I once thought Zimbabwe could easily win the match.  Because Zimbabwe doesn't play so badly.  The whole world knows that it is very difficult to lose them in their own day.  Two hundred and 81 runs was not too much.  With such a good bowling line-up like Pakistan, they are able to score 255 runs.

Is anyone watching the ODI series between Pakistan and Zimbabwe? I just found out that Pakistan has lost 2 wickets for 92 runs, they are batting first. Abid Ali and Babar Azam are both out. Pakistan will win this match as Zimbabwe won't be able to stay long on the wicket because of their weak batting line up.

Very average performance from Pakistan, and they are at 261/7 after 48 overs. BTW, can anyone tell me why Fakhar Zaman is not in the playing XI? Is he injured? The Pakistani top order was disappointing and only Haris Sohail and Imam-ul-Haq got half-centuries. Let's see how their bowlers are going to perform. They should aim for a big win, by bowling out Zimbabwe for less than 150.
