India failed to produce a genuine fast bowling all rounder, by the way Pandya itself a pacer but not bowling due to the injury concern and team India has to go with the options they are having.Maybe they need to change the bowling combination in the mext matches to find the right partners who is capable of taking wickets.
Does India have a genuine all rounder, i only remember bits and peaces players who could fill a few overs and then they could bat, Pandya could bowl and he is not fit and i have seen Vijay Shankar playing well in the IPL and he could be considered as an all rounder.

The pitch they played the first game looked flat and none of the bowlers were getting any assistance and India gave away runs because of their fielding and until they improve those, it is difficult for them to win any matches .
I am not sure Vijay Shankar can replace the place of Pandya because Pandya performed his best in this IPL while Shankar just played average performance comparing the whole season. Probably players are in the domestic leagues but they are yet to find their international career.

Hardik Pandya turn out most useful for the Indian Team eventually but yesterday were failed. I believe he could manage but indeed it was a big total. He is very aggressive and this temperament should continue when team is needy. Pandya continues to be an asset for India and his return in the bowling department can be proved crucial.

Hardik Pandya is most useful for short bursts towards the end. I don't think that he has yet achieved the maturity to play long innings. He played well yesterday. But when someone scores big and his team losses the match, people tend to forget about the performance very soon. It may not be a bad idea to promote him a little bit higher up the order.

I don't have much grievance from the last game as far as batting is concern. Everyone tried their best but target was too big and you can't chase mammoth targets everytime  so its okay.

My concern is 6th bowler. If India can't produce genuine all rounder then they should focus more on part time bowlers and top 5-6 batsmen should step up but sadly no one seems interested to take a ball or even try. 6th bowler + part timer bowlers are need of modern cricket, unfortunately Team India not taking this seriously.

Before India had Sachin, Sehwag, Gangully, Yuvraj, Raina who used to ball as part timer every now n then but sadly this tradition is dead in current Indian batsmen.

India only have a medium pace baller for long time and Bhuvi is good with swing but due to injury/form is not in the team. Bumrah is being one of the strike bowlers in recent times with his consistent york deliveries. Hardik is good allrounder for team, but 1 thing as far as long term playing consistently is if he admire the success he has got in short time and gets carried away then it will not take much time which will impact his performance on ground. Till time he is performing no one points at him, but soon he loses his form then media goes back to his personal life’s and will relate his poor performances accordingly which will hurt him more.

Yuvraj was easily the best among the names that you mentioned. It's tough to find such part-time bowlers in any team. I was excited about Varun Chakravarty's inclusion which could have been a game-changer, but his injury threw that prospect out.

Instead of focusing on part-time bowlers, the team needs to focus on their main bowlers primarily since Shami and Chahal are the only bowlers who are consistently taking wickets in recent times.

Vijay Shankar is the closest we have to a pace bowling allrounder, who is rather strong in batting. But he hasn't lived up to the hype. Such players are very crucial in limited overs cricket now, as seen from the success of Marcus Stoinis and James Neesham. It was West Indies which first experimented with such players, and other countries soon realized the advantages.

It could have been another successful chase India as they did back in the day. I was hopeful that India will win till Hardik was there. He played an extraordinary match although he couldn't end it well.
What chase are you talking about? No team has chased a target greater than 334 or something successfully on that ground which is why India was in a bad position ever since Australia set that monstrous target up for them.

Also, expecting just Hardik to lead them to a win is silly. Australia had several players score centuries for them(Finch and Smith) while Warner and Maxwell scored well too.

On the other hand, Dhawan and Hardik were the only top Indian performers and none of them scored a century.

By the time if Shreyas Iyer, Rahul, or Kohli had performed well the match could've gone even closer to win.

Australia made too many runs and it was always difficult for the Indians to chase them and that too on the Sydney cricket ground. We cannot say yet who will win the series and India also played well to make 308 runs in the chase of 374 runs.

The Australians prepared a very flat track, which offered no special assistance to the bowlers. Both the pacers and spinners went for plenty of runs. Yuzvendra Chahal had his baptism in fire, on his first trip to Australia. One interesting thing is that the Australian pace bowlers (with the exception of Josh Hazlewood) looked as if they are out of form. This is a bad sign for them.

What a start by Australia. I won't be surprised if they decimate India in this ODI series through a 3-0 win. The Indian fielding was pretty bad through and through.
The same sentiment here, i am expecting Australia to dominate the series and it was a really good start for the tournament. I was worried when there was a partnership going on in the middle and they put on a century partnership and with their reputation they could chase a score but once Shikhar Dhawan got out then i was sure it is impossible to chase the score as the tail order is really weak.

Chasing any total close to 400 is a difficult task for any team but like you I also think India played well to reach over 300 runs after losing quick wickets. After losing 4 wickets within the first 15 overs is always going to be hard to chase down a huge target. I think we also need to remember that the team still need time to get back to match fitness as it has been a crazy year for all sports so I do expect India to come out and play much better in the next ODI match. Yes I know that most of the players have been playing in the IPL so they should have match fitness but IPL and International cricket is different in my opinion.
The lack of middle order performance is the reason for the loss of the match. By the time if Shreyas Iyer, Rahul, or Kohli had performed well the match could've gone even closer to win. When the match gets closer with the available ball and runs required, the players get positive hope of winning. Here during the last time the difference was high and isn't easy reachable during the end time.

As expected, Bumrah has retained his form in the T-20 format, but not the ODI and test formats. On the other hand, Shami was brilliant. The Indian team's new jersey doesn't look great which is why I hope they revert to the old one soon.

With Kohli out of the picture soon, can India really prevail against a monstrous Australian side? Very difficult scenario in my opinion.

Personally, dint like the tshirt much as its very dark. Also, this is similar resemblance of India wearing in 1992 world cup as well. Talking about match, India played after 8 months of International match and that too in OZ which is never easy for India winning the match out there. OZ won this game easily in end, but can expect some better performance and close matches in the remaining games.

Yeah. It's a large gap between team India playing an ODI match and the players may need some time to adjust with the team and the opponent. The game was not entirely one sided and as they get along, I expect closer competition in the coming matches. For limited over games, it would be much more unpredictable as all players would be on similar grounds as all of them are playing some sort of T20 games recently.

People would get used to the jersey. I felt the same last time they changed it but it went okay.
What was not okay was the game from India. They tried to follow but couldn't imitate the Australian batting lineup. They have been struggling to get wins in Australia and New Zealand for some time and specially when playing against Australia. I think 3-0 clean sweep is likely. On T-20 India would surely give some challenge.
