I did not expect West Indies to dominate the match as India was not able to pick wickets and Hetmyer played an incredible innings and he just lost his wicket looking to increase the run rate and he was striking at a good rate and Hope is still in the crease but he is playing like a Test match innings as his strike rate is just 57 and is it possible for India to win from this stage as they need 6 runs per over.
Good start by WI they are spot on to the target, from now on they need to patience and keep wickets in hand till the 40th over. They can win this match if they perform consistently like this.
Unless and until India can pick up wickets and put pressure back to West Indies there is no way they are going to win the match, winning the toss was a crucial part i think because the West Indies were able to control the run rate and restrict India and now West Indies are chasing really well and dominating the Indian bowlers as they are taking apart and clearing the boundary with ease.Both the batsmen are now set on the wicket. It will be hard for Indian bowlers to take them down. Run rate already above 5, which is a clear indicator that if they only take 4 runs an over they will win this match.

West Indies is in a really strong position and there is no way that India can win the match from this stage as India was able to pick only one wicket till now and West Indies is cruising as they just need 139 more runs with 9 wickets in hand and the run rate is not that huge and they have the power hitter to win the match as they are scoring at a good run rate in the past 5 overs.

West Indies lost an opener earlier but now they are playing carefully and if they are able to build a good partnership without loosing much wickets and since this is the T20 era you cannot trust any total below 300 as the players will score slowly and when the target is below 100 then they will view the match as a T20 and you will cover the run rate required and it all depends upon how India bowls. Captain Pollard's wicket will be the key of this match.

I think today's match shows that India does have a little bit strength in it's middle order too. They aren't dependent only on top-3 to make big scores for them. Rishab Pant finally doing something to justify his selection in the team and Shreyas Iyer too looks like a solid player for the number 4 spot. But power hitting is still missing in the lower order maybe we are missing Hardik Pandya down there? Ravindra Jadeja is batting really slow today. Worst part is when India wanted their settled lower order batsmen to hit some extra runs in form of lofted shots all of them have got out. 280 isn't a big total on this pitch with batting like West Indies.

WI won the toss and elected to field and India are off to slow start . In 25 overs only 100/3 and if rains come into picture then may be DL could also come in and WI may end up in a better zone as the match is currently in their control and Kohli and Sharma are also back in pavilion.
Iyer and Pant 70-70 runs helped India to reach 220 runs in 42 overs and both batsman are out and India have lost 5 wickets now . Jadeja has come to pitch and if bat till end India might reach to close to 300 runs and may be a good score .

West Indies are heavily relying on their bowlers in this dry pitch. I think they might have considered the dew aspect in the night. It will be hard for Indian spinners and bowlers.
What do you mean by dirty pitch, is this a bowling wicket in India, if so that would be great, West Indies won the toss and elected to field and looking at the papers it should be an easy match for India as West Indies does not stand a chance against India as they are too strong but they have some bowlers short because of injury but still if India can post a good total they will win the match.When did I said dirty pitch?

According to the predictions, it may rain during the second innings. The side which bats first may get their full 50 overs, and the rain intervention may happen during the second half. The pitch at MA Chidambaram Stadium has historically favored the batsmen, but it is also regarded as one of the spin-friendly tracks in the sub-continent. The last ODI here was two years back, and then Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal had picked 5 wickets between them.

Bhuvi is ruled out of the ODI series against WI and this is not a good sign for team India as one of their main Bowlers will be out of the series and India will now have to look on other bowlers to pick wickets and contain the batsman .
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is plagued with injury all the time and even during the world cup he was injured as he had issues with his hamstrings if i am not wrong and it happens if you are not warming up well and if he was lazy on doing that then it will affect his career really bad, not sure what is the injury now but their top two bowlers are injured as there is no return date fixed for Bumrah as far as i know through media. Even with all these injury concerns from India i still consider them to win the series.Bhuvaneswar played just two T20 matches so far in the Indian domestic season (and one of them was against the weak Manipur side). This is an issue with the Indian players. Once they get to play a few matches for the national side, they refuse to take part in the domestic tournaments. Especially after the injury, he should have used the domestic tournaments to get some match practice. I agree that the Indian domestic competitions are not as strong as those in Australia or England. But still, he should have played a few more matches.
