Maybe the Windies getting knocked out of the world cup race did some damage but it still looks bad overall. One potential argument would be is the ODI format is dying.
The ODI format isn't dying. The supporters and spectators of the West Indies cricket team have no more expectations from them. West Indies showed pathetic performance today, but India couldn't get an easy victory there for changing the batting lineup. India lost 5 wickets while they were chasing the small target of 115 runs.
Tbh it turned out to be a warm up match that's why so many changes in the batting order. At times it felt like Rohit and Kohli didn't want to bat at all.
Hope they get some resistance or some shock in the next matches because this tour was supposed to be a preparation for WC.
I mean seriously, are the Indians happy on this win against the babies WI ?
That had to chase only 114 runs, there was no pressure whatsoever, and India still lost 5 wickets in the process. Shocking, isn't
This should be an eye opener for the Indian cricket board and if they only see this as an Indian win, then I am afraid, there are going to be tough times ahead when you have matches with Australia, England, and Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup.
