This win over Australia is just a wave of fresh air, Zimbabwe still has long way to go. In last ten years they have lost too much. They also won series against Bangladesh which tells the story that they are improving. Right now they are heavily dependent on Raza, more players should jump in and take responsibility.

The Zimbabwean team has several talented players. If these players are able to perform consistently, the Zimbabwean team will be stronger. Wins against Bangladesh and Australia were not easy. The players of Zimbabwe have managed this difficult task. The Zimbabwe team will become stronger if corruption within the board is reduced. A few days later they will challenge Renownade teams as well.

In recent months Raza have evolved as a player who keeps contributing good to the team and helped in winning several matches. Right now the team is slowly developing to their old position. It needs to be scheduled with more matches that can keep the players on the active form.

Right now, Zimbabwe is not having any interest in this ODI Super League points table because they need good improvement in skills quality, and then they can do something better in future otherwise they will struggle for long time as they are already.

Australia vs New Zealand series is also not having any impact on these both teams rating or points as both are already in better position but third series which is mentioned here India vs South Africa is very important for visitors as right now they need to improve their rating which needs to win matches in India which is not easy for them as well as Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan is also very important specially after very interesting end of matches between these two teams in Asia Cup even format was different but still look like right now both teams are having same level of quality and Sri Lanka could be under pressure as they have to win these matches otherwise they are going into qualifying round.

Zimbabwe has closed the gap with South Africa in the ODI Super League points table, but the former has zero chance of qualifying to the next stage. West Indies at 8th place has 88 points from 24 matches. Even if Zimbabwe wins all their remaining matches, they will have 75 points. Next matches are Australia vs New Zealand (which is irrelevant for qualifying) and India vs South Africa (which is very important for South Africa). For Sri Lanka, the next series is against Afghanistan and they need to win at least 2 out of the 3 matches.

But sadly ICC and their B-4 never realize this all, and they are trying to fill their pockets with better profitable series even they are losing their charm due to too matches between these teams and mostly have no good impact.
Today is India Vs Pakistan as well and they too need a bit of attention for performing well
Pakistan won the match with 5 wickets in hand. Which Indians too played very well. Well played India and Pakistan - thank you for the amazing cricket you have shown us.

It was a holly molly moment when Zimbabwe scored the winning run and that too against a strong Australian side. Ryan Burl single handedly orchestrated the Australian collapse in the middle order and he took two catches in the outfield and picked up 5 wickets and then when Zimbabwe was struggling chasing the score he contributed with the bat as well and once in a lifetime moment for him Cheesy.
They definitely had a good home season for a month or so.

Won against Bangladesh, gave an okay fight in the last match against India, and finally impressive win against Aussie.

Kind of a failure of the ICC that Zimbabwe won't get any series against India, Australia, and England for the next 4 years.
Surely here big failure of ICC as they fail to have series between top teams and weaker in four years tenure which is widening gape between big teams and lower rank teams they are not having enough chance to face them and have experience which is important for increase in quality of these countries.

If they can't provide window in one or two years then surely they need to work on this they much face each other in four years gape which is also acceptable because this will give big boost these small countries and youths will also have better feeling about these big countries and their players which is also having good impact on overall this game.

But sadly ICC and their B-4 never realize this all, and they are trying to fill their pockets with better profitable series even they are losing their charm due to too matches between these teams and mostly have no good impact.

So, that is obviously a big difference. I also agree that the ODI super league is not the target of Zimbabwe. At least not now. The main target of Zimbabwe right now is going to be how to improve. If they can improve the team they who is then able to compete at a higher level.
Oh lala - are we still discussing Zimbabwe after the amazing match between Pakistan and India
Comeon - we have watched a wonder game tonight - Congrats to Pakistan for the win - Better luck India. You played well.

ODI Super League is defiantly not the goal for Zimbabwe at the moment. They must be looking to regain there lost place in international cricket as they were in 90s. Zimbabwe was once a strong team like Afghanistan today but in last decade they were terribly gone down in performance. Few recent wins have given hope that Zimbabwe may rise again.

Zimbabwe closed the gap between them and South Africa in the ODI super league. But you know, Zimbabwe has played a lot more matches compared to South Africa.

Zimbabwe has played 21 and South Africa has played 13.

Lol Zimbabwe won, this should give them some confidence and will surely help in the climb up at the ranking table.

Kind of bizarre to see an Aussie scorecard, that's some epic collapse in the same match where 1 batter scored 94 runs for the team and the rest of the team contributed only 38 runs, 3rd best scorer was Extras 9 runs.  Undecided

Even if the team is small, everyone should be given the opportunity to play with the big team. If Zimbabwe plays against big teams like Australia, England, their interest in playing will improve their skills. These should be taken care of by ICC so that all teams will become efficient in cricket.

Zimbabwe has recently won an ODI series against Bangladesh, they played a competitive match against India. Now they have won a match against Australia. Are you going to consider it as an improvement of Zimbabwean cricket team? Personally I'm surprised by these performances of Zimbabwe. They loss most of the matches very badly, but they are giving surprising result in one or two matches.
What we see with Zimbabwe is real improvement. As said, over the last few matches they're good with their performance. In the match against Australia it is something extraordinary, because Zimbabwe have defeated in their home ground. These days there is big improvement from most of the bottom order teams. In specific I see big improvement with Afghanistan and next stands Zimbabwe.
After watching today match if someone feeling some improvement is going to happen in Zimbabwe team then surely it's good joke nothing else because after having 2 big wins suddenly Australia collapse and give win to them, it's only consolation nothing else, or we can say they obliged them for having very poor time in last two matches no improvement going to happen in Zimbabwe with this win.

141 runs Warner 94 and Maxwell 19 Ryan Burl bowl just three overs and have five wickets, what a spell from this leggie career best for him and surely a proud moment as he achieves against Australia. In chase Zimbabwe lost their seven wickets Sikandar Raza have nothing positive from this series and fail against quality bowling but still good for them as they have ten points in Cricket World Cup Super League.

Still, Australia won the series but after watching the highlights of this match I realized one thing Zimbabwe is pretty much unpredictable. Ryan Burl's bowling was brilliant with line and length in this match, Sikandar Reza has lost his form as he has not been able to score much after the Bangladesh series.

Just imagine if Warner had not scored 94 runs then the whole Australian side would have collapsed within 100. This might have been one of the poorest performances by the Australian team in an ODI.
These upsets happen from time to time and it's good.

Although I would love to witness such kind of upsets in WC against the BIG-3, hard pill to swallow as a fan but damn it's funny as well if we look at the overall meltdown.  Grin

Right now the main Zimbabwe player is Sikander Raza, a player of South Asian origin. Its a positive sign that Zimbabwe is making a come back to international cricket by beating Bangladesh in ODI series and now winning a historic ODI against mighyt Australia.  I can sense Zimbabwe coming to next world cup also.

I don't have any big expectations. Zimbabwe is a dying team and I am sure that they will never appear in the ODI world cup again. Even if they win their remaining 3 matches in the ODI Super League, they will be left with 75 points and that is not enough to qualify. On the other hand, some of the associate nations are making big improvements (such as Scotland, Namibia, Uganda and Nepal). I don't think that Zimbabwe will be able to keep up with the changing circumstances and stay competitive.
That is correct Zimbabwe is a dying team - there are many other - but that is Okie as long as they are competing.
Tomorrow there is another interesting match between India and Pakistan. Looking fwd doe the interesting match tomorrow.

I am happy that Zimbabwe managed to win. But without the white players, it could have been impossible. Brad Evans scored the winning runs and picked up two wickets, while Ryan Burl picked up 5 wickets and scored valuable runs towards the end. They are still overdependent on the white players, despite the fact that white population is shrinking (now 0.1% of the total population). The African players haven't shown a capability to win matches, despite huge amount of funds being spent to improve domestic cricket.
