Had anyone noticed ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 is in progress at Dubai. Oman and UAE are leading the points table, both these teams have players from South Asian countries while team like Nepal who is 100% made up of local players is sitting at second last position. ICC must encourage team of native players only.
What kind of rule do you expect ICC to come up against teams like Dubai and Oman, i am not expecting them to come up with any rule that would harm them as they are playing with expats for decades and it is highly unlikely they will change that because majority of the citizens from these countries are expats and settled down in UAE or Oman after the oil boom and their population is really small.

Thailand has played 4 matches while Pak and Bangladesh both have played 3 matches, the decision is made on NRR IMO not about full member. Both Pakistan and Bangladesh women team performance is drastic in this tournament and they both need to work hard or else don't play next WC.
I rechecked the story, in case i missed something and now can confirm that, they were denied the World Cup entry (and indeed tournament got cancelled due to covid) because they had no ODI status. According to the reports it was harsh decision and they were robbed of a maiden appearance of an ODI world cup.

"With the Super Sixes stage of the tournament unable to be played (or rescheduled), the three highest-ranked teams in the ICC's ODI rankings at the cut-off date of September 30 progressed to the main event under the tournament's playing conditions.

Thailand do not have ODI status and therefore do not have an ODI ranking.

The ICC announced in April the women’s teams of all Full Member nations would be awarded ODI (and Test) status, but for Thailand, whose progress in the women’s game has far outstripped that of its men’s side, the only route to ODI status would have been through qualification for the Championship.
"

Ok, I have a question,

Why are you letting a team play in the qualifiers when you are not going to let them play in the world cup? I mean what is the reason behind that?

Is it just me or does everyone actually think that ICC is being run by stupid people?

If you don't want to let a team play in the world cup, just don't give them false hope.

And yes I agree that if both Bangladesh and Pakistan women's team does not improve their game they might not be able to play in the next world cup.
I actually see quite the same problems in both the teams. the players don't have a good enough physique to play on a big stage like the world cup.
I certainly feel when any batsman of these two teams is batting, there is always a chance of a run-out because I don't think the communication is good enough. obviously, I have not even talked about the skill level.
Stupid institute with their dumb rules, not to mention level of greediness.

Qualification process for ICC tournament is more like fixed campaign. Full members face virtually no hurdles at all, 80-90% teams get direct entry due to ranking and ICC make qualification process very hard for associate members. Also they don't want to increase the number of teams in the tourney (because of bad experience on revenue), which doesn't help the associate member's cause.

Subcontinent Women's teams have one thing in common, fitness standards.

Alyssa Healy is now the No.1 batter for the ODIs after winning the Cricket World Cup 2022 Player of the Tournament award. The Australian team, even its individual members, are unstoppable since they have devoted decades to women's cricket. Their success shouldn't come as a surprise, but it's inevitable. Australia, England, South Africa and New Zealand continue to lead the bowlers' and allrounders' charts, respectively, throughout the Women's World Cup tournament. As the nation that used to lead in women's cricket, other countries should pay as same attention.
What an amazing person to look at - Unbeatable and unstoppable, I alway admire and appreciate the effort and energy the Australian put in for their sports and their career. I strongly agree that The other countries should definitely pay the same attention.

The last qualifying round was cancelled due to covid19. If Thailand maintain current form in coming qualifying round of WC they will defiantly qualify for the WC. Thailand deserve to play WC in place of Pakistan and Bangladesh since both teams dont have adequate skills to play such big tournament.

Covid has greatly messed up everything in the world. Now since covid is over things are settling down. Thailand or other associate team should not give up as Pakistan and Bangladesh are very weak in this region and can be easily be replaced by team of better performance. Pakistan is paying zero attention to its women cricket compared to its men cricket.

During qualifier round Thailand was leading the point table, ahead of Pakistan and Bangladesh but due to some reason (Covid, i guess) qualification tournament got cancelled and ICC decided that World cup qualification would be based on ICC ranking. Thailand has no ranking in the ICC table because they are not full member, hence got eliminated.

The fun fact is that Thailand had defeated Bangladesh during the qualifying tournament. Thailand finished on top with 3 wins (6 points), while Bangladesh finished second with 2 wins (4 points). And despite the fact that they had lost to Thailand in the group match, second placed Bangladesh and third placed Pakistan advanced to the main tournament, thanks to crazy rules from the ICC.

BTW, Thailand had participated in the 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. They were in a strong position against Pakistan, and had 90% chance of win. But the match got washed out.

To be honest, even I don't think ICC is serious enough about women's cricket. Otherwise, they would not have made such a decision to let Pakistan play in the world cup instead of the team which actually deserved to play.
I am not sure what you are talking about, which team would you think should have been selected instead of Pakistan. I did not understand that part, the level of game every team plays are not the same and eventually you will see good teams. Even in this World Cup, South Africa really played well and so does England and New Zealand, so the level of the game is improving than it was a decade ago.

Please correct me if I am wrong but as far as I know Thailand should have played the world cup instead of Pakistan Smiley. But ICC said that they are not ranked high enough to play in the world cup. Even though they played and ranked better in the world cup qualifiers than Pakistan.

Anyway, I think this World Cup is going to be an eye-opener for the other cricket boards. Now that the cricket board should concentrate on their women's cricket also. And the first thing that every team should work on is their fitness in my opinion.

What makes the Australian women's team so unstoppable? If the answer is WBBL, then England is also having a women's league that is even more star-studded and organized (the Women's Hundred). One reason can be the interest shown by CA for the women's game. During the past few years, the Australian board has spent a lot of time, effort and money in to the women's game. The ECB wasn't that excited about women's cricket and the less talked about the subcontinental teams that better. I would say that CA was the only board that gave equal opportunities to both men's and women's teams and in the end the results are out there for everyone to see.
Right now Australian sports system is world's best with their great investments and dedication is giving them good dividends even we can say England is also doing good, but they are not as we have Australia recently their quality and performance is amazing which is big difference for all other competitors for me now it's not easy for any country to touch their quality because it needs some good investment and planning which need time.

English system is near to collapse as they are not bringing some good and latest techniques and changes, so they are facing humiliation in men cricket but their women's still done some better in this last event specially after losing their early matches.

Australia is having some good equal opportunities for both men and women, no other board can afford things like this even in near future because it needs some good investment.

Alyssa Healy deserve to be player of the tournament "The 32-year-old Healy smashed 509 runs - including two hundreds and two half-centuries - across her nine matches at the World Cup, and at an intimidating strike rate of 103.66." Source
While in bowling department its England Sophie Ecclestone who stand at no 1 with 21 wickets in 9 matches, followed by Shabnim Ismail of SA with 14 wickets in 8 matches.

She played really well throughout the whole tournament and she deserved to be the best batsman in women's cricket. She really contributed a lot to win the world cup. And most of the time we can see that when a player gets that much Run, often she has a really bad strike rate.

But in this case, the strike rate is really incredible. England and South Africa both also played well in the tournament but they are not up to the standards of the Australian women's team.

There are a lot of reasons why the other women's teams like the subcontinent teams are not given enough opportunities. There is obviously a geopolitical difference between this side of the world and the other.

Australia cricket board did really well for the women's team and also financed the team because they gave them a good enough chance and they also have been very serious about women's cricket. and that was not the case in other countries.
