Can you double check that this transaction gets included in a block? It says it was confirmed but I don't see it anywhere in a block explorer,

Oh Snap!!! You are super duper! Thanks for pointing out the obvious cause i'm obviously blind. I checked the txid in another block explorer and it couldn't find it; not home so assumed the worst figured it was the same ol' same ol' w/cryptsy. Thanks for the help and to calm my nerves till i get home! The best bestest! Cheesy

Lean into the curves.

Also about the proof reading, yoyo told me to correct this:
"By using Zerocoin you would exchange 2 anoncoins for 2 zerocoins, which would be added to all the other zerocoins in the Anoncoin blockchain cryptographic accumulator, waiting there to be redeemed."

So what happens to those coins in terms of visibility in the blockchain? They are shown as being transfered from the person's wallet to where?

Also, zerocash has 7 ivy league level experts creating an anonymous coin while anoncoin has one person who is working on a salary. If a major flaw is found in zerocoin after its release, and it seems highly likely that will be the case, does anc have a fallback plan? Would it keep patching zerocoin? Switch to something better?

The number of Ivy League degrees working on zerocash really doesn't matter if users are asked to *trust* that the key has been destroyed in order assure anonymity.

Is this another stuck transaction from Cryptsy?

Hopefully after Zerocoin there will be more exchange options!

How are we supposed to trade when transactions to/from the biggest exchange ANC is listed often get stuck?

well yes - it's been running a long time, and will keep the key files and carry it across upgrades etc, but  not even sure if it's working atm ...

and I used to connect to others as well a few months back, but now, prolly since the last time i built it, i connect to nobody, other than regular ipv4 nodes via exit nodes i spose

Also, from what I can see, the network cannot find any tor nodes, not that it bothers me, If i cannot get the address of at least one then the tor listener is not going to get used

i got list of tor addresses from here but none work anymore
im capable to connect to you over tor. can you setup another node and try to connect with -connect to your own node over TOR? dont use the same machine/TOR instance pls.

EDIT:
seems your setup is wrong. the destination you specified for TOR HS dosnt respond to requests.

i get in my debug.log a lot:

partner ... using obsolete version 70005; disconnecting

When i do get a connection it says:
receive version message: /Anonymous:0.8.5.6/: version 70007,

So, is it just me or are there a lot of out of date noes out there ? trying to join in but getting rejected by the likes of me ?

Also, lets swap some tor addresses; mine is 45y2lyszn5qnpt3l.onion

Does anybody else have one that's an up to date client ? if so  please post
can be, but dont worry about those.
are you going to run this TOR node (45y2lyszn5qnpt3l.onion) "forever"?

PS: if you want to push TOR, please set this in your anoncoin.conf
Code:
externalip=45y2lyszn5qnpt3l.onion
discover=1
listen=1
this way other nodes will propagate your onion address and be able to connect to you.

Ok I've taken into account what you thekozitwo and Gnosis told me, and I come with the file below.

Note that this part needs proof reading:

"With Zerocoin, one can create new coins recorded inside the block chain, but separated from the regular coins.
Let's say you have 2 anoncoins whose history you want to erase. By using Zerocoin you would exchange 2 anoncoins for 2 zerocoins, which would be added to all the other zerocoins in the Anoncoin blockchain, waiting there to be redeemed. At that point they become totally unrelated to any Anoncoin addresses.

When you want to get some anoncoins back, all you have to do is to prove that you previously created 2 zerocoins, in order to receive someone else's 2 anoncoins coming from that zerocoin pool and without their previous history."

And the last paragraph need something more accurate like "coming in November" Wink

PS: maybe I'll modify some things in the visuals (aren't the blue and green buddies too MSN-like ? and colors in genral too flashy ?)

Matched 23.88919338 ANC (donation is removing decimals, thx Cheesy)

Left: 699 ANC

Offer expires at: September 30, 2014, 11:59:59 PM (Forum time)

Can the community come up with the remaining 699 ANC within ~25 hours?

Let's see  Grin

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.8836960

I've been busy developing so I haven't replied much but I just wanted to quickly say 1) thanks everyone who donated so far (currently full time through October 27)! and 2) I'm still on track for a (binary-only, sorry) testnet version for October 15. It will be binary only to prevent copy-cat coins. If you want to try out the Zerocoin testnet but are the type of person who only trusts compiling from source, I recommend running on a dedicated machine or in a VM.

When will you release the source?  Before the mainnet launch?

Yes, shortly before.

P.S. I just saw in the infographic that you say ETA needs update.

Hi,
zerocoin is still planning to be on mainnet in november I think (testnet around mid-october). I was too lazy to include that in the infographic Wink

I have some questions after reading the infographic. Its a bit difficult to read everything on this thread right now.

First of all about the RSA UFOs. I am sure many people have already asked about this already. So to my understanding the problem with those is that people will have to trust that the keys have been destroyed after launch because if they havent one can mint as many coins as he likes without anyone even knowing. So the proposal is that there isnt only one key but many given to a few persons and we have to trust than at least one of them will delete his key. In any case the anonymity is not compromised.

Is what i am talking about correct or i miss something? Also who are the people that will be given the keys? How many? And when this will happen, is there a date for that? Will it be public or something?

Now about mining, i understand that the algo will change to AuxPoW and the coin will be merged mined with other coins with 5 different algos. SHA256,  Scrypt, Skein, CryptoNight and Primecoin's algo.

I am not familiar with what AuxPoW is so i want to ask how does this work? Any link so i can read about it? And when will this algo change take place?

When does Zerocoin goes live? Is there a set date for that?

I am a holding Monero. You say that Cryptonote is actually mixing and eventually someone will be able to link transactions. Is this proven or is it under certain situations or something? I know that coinjoin is easy to track but i havent heard the same about cryptonote. Where can i read more about this. I am not the best guy when it comes to cryptography though Tongue

Thanks a lot.

lots of people are asking the same questions. your best bet is to try to do your own research first lunohkod and lots of others have covered a lot of your questions in the anoncoin wiki. wiki.anoncoin.net

also check out https://wiki.anoncoin.net/Anonymity_of_cryptocurrencies for comparison to other approaches like cryptonite.

check out the wiki if you have any questions after that feel free to ask, also lots of people in the irc freenode channel #anonocoin  and on irc2p #anoncoin
