Is anyone concerned about the Torcoin launch? I'm mining both... don't wanna get burned.

Does anyone know if they actually implemented Zerocoin like they claim? And if this is the torcoin that has recently been discussed to incentivize running tor relays, or is this just another coin with the same name?

As for the withdrawal issue, lets just keep each other posted. I still have no coins. What worries me is that the test withdrawal of 0.9 ANC on the same day went through, while the large amount afterwards has not. Seems to me like this isn't as arbitrary as they are claiming it is.

I honestly am not sure to tell you the truth.

As far as the withdrawal issue... 6 days now, submitted 3 tickets, & I've still got 78 Anoncoins floating around in limbo. I had no trouble at all the last few times. If they don't show up by tomorrow, I'm gonna start hammering them with ticket after ticket until I get my coins!

Haha tried that already...it seems that if you open up other tickets for the same issue they automatically close them without contacting you. And when I confronted them about it support got all sassy with me telling me that they've already apologized and sent it to tech support and I just need to wait.

Is anyone concerned about the Torcoin launch? I'm mining both... don't wanna get burned.

anoncoin is now over 1 year old, and it has torimplementation from the beginning. Besides, any coin network can run over tornetwork just by writing the tornode into the conf file.... Another announcement you might consider: http://www.dailydot.com/business/tor-hackers-break/
The hackers involved in this are cheap sell-out traitors, if you ask me.

What the hackers seem to be saying is "the nsa has penetrated tor, so take precautions".

Would you rather they didn't say that?

The various govts in any part of the world have shown again and again and again and again that the individual is never on the cutting edge of technology against any group.

Remember in the book 1984 where the protagonist hid the real secrets.

Oh yes, one of my favorite books (aside from anything David Icke has ever written). I got the impression that they were trying to prove the NSA were incompetent. I could be wrong... we shall see.
Personally I think they are whoring themselves out in order to get high paying government contracts. That's merely speculation though.
I totally see what you're saying though. I hope you are right & not me.

I'm not.

Most people mining alt coins are dumping for BTC. I wouldn't want to get burned mining the wrong coin. It's a gamble. That's probably why I don't mine anymore. It is too much work and maintenance.

I hear ya, I bought a nice gaming rig on craigslist for the purpose of mining. A couple months later, it became almost obsolete. For now, I mine piddly-shit coins & keep my fingers crossed. I may make some upgrades to it & add a few new graphics cards, but right now I mostly hire other miners on Ebay.

That article scares the shit out of me... I guess I'm an extremist according to the NSA. Oh well, I've drunk-dialed the White House a handful of times to tell 'em what's on my mind. LOL!!! Last time, I DEMANDED the release of Chelsea Manning. Yea, they've probably got an extensive file on my behind.

Due to all this cryptsy mess, i have send a short email to bittrex.com, and they replied that they would add Anoncoin if there will be a community effort on twitter @BittrexExchange or per email. Let's make this happen! Bittrex has a lot of Bitcoin volume, so if the zerocoin implemention tests will succeed, the price and the awareness of the coin will raise.

I am having a wierd problem with the Anoncoin client that I hope someone can help me with. In short, about a week ago, the client stopped synching with the network. In looking at the debug.log file, there a lots of errors like the following:

So it has been over a week since my ANC withdrawals "processed" yet I still have no coins. I have submitted multiple tickets to support, but they couldn't be more useless. This is a lot of money for me and I see that this is a problem a lot of people are having. Has anyone actually gotten their coins yet?

my first issue is as of 6/26, yesterday I tried to withdraw again... same problem
nothing has been resolved. all withdrawals still stuck, damn cryptsy
we should open a specific thread on this issue, and insult those assholes.. apparently it works.

Strange how it varies. I withdrew well over 1000 ANC around the same time and got them four days later without ever posting a ticket.

I bought some on june 23 and had no problem too. Then I bought some 3 days later and they still have not arrived. Looking at the price chart on cryptsy, the problem developed just as the price was starting to spike.

The previous post by bigvern that 'anoncoin withdrawals have been fixed' was on june 20. From the 20th to the 23rd or so the price was flat, then as the price started to jump the problem developed again. So people were moving money in to buy anoncoin, only to find out over the next week or so they could not withdraw it, so price drops again. Anyone at cryptsy who knew about the problem realtime could have made a bunch of money buying on june 20 then selling after the problem developed again.

It would be interesting to find out if any cryptsy employees bought anc from the 20th to about the 23rd then sold it several days later.

I was thinking the same, but I hope that is not like that, or example someone who do not want ANC price up, like DRK fans,
have something with our problem  Smiley

I think that we, as a community, should switch en masse to Bluetrade: https://bleutrade.com/

The volume there is very low, so what if we all do the following?

For each bid or sell order that you place with Cryptsy, consider placing the same order at Bluetrade for about 1/4 of the amount.

As soon as there is a critical volume, people will naturally switch.

Like I wrote few days before, I signed up on bluetrade, and 1st time in my life I get warning that someone try to sign in into my mail..
I can not be sure that this have connection with bluetrade!

There is no volume on any coin there, even DRK do not have volume   Grin

It is good to discuss and maybe we "all" can agree and go to another exchanges.
If/when price go up, cryptsy will do their job..

And all other exchanges will have ANC  with good volume!!

This is just to let you all know that I have finished my work on the new, official, Anoncoin Wiki

http://wiki.anoncoin.net/Main_Page

Thanks to Geekz for getting this set up, and getting the ball rolling.

Among the entries are the following:

  • Anoncoin (cryptocurrency)
  • Anoncoin address
  • Articles about Anoncoin and Zerocoin
  • Block chain explorers
  • Exchanges
  • FAQ
  • How to guides
  • I2P
  • Internet resources
  • Mining pools
  • RSA UFO
  • Zerocoin

Most of these articles are in good shape, but some are incomplete (such as block chain explorers, exexchanges, mining pools, and I2P).

Please feel free to modify any of these entries, to add new content, or to add questions to the FAQ. You do not even need an account to make modifications, so: Don't complain to me, get involved!

I have the same issue. Tried withdrawing to see if it's stuck again. I got the coins last time but it usually takes more than a week for them to fix it every time. My guess is that ANC doesn't get enough volume for them to really care.

Edit: got a response to my ticket in 5 minutes. Same answer as usual and I am not sure if they actually do bother checking it.
"Thank you for getting in touch with us about your withdrawal request and my apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
I am showing this transaction should be credited to your account. I have escalated this ticket to our tech support team. Please give them time to check the transaction and send you a reply as as our tech support team must respond in order of tickets received.
Please let me know when your withdrawal has gone thru. Thank you kindly for your patience and understanding."

Yes, in fact a couple of weeks ago I transferred my coins out without any delay or trouble whatsoever... this was unusual, however.  Most times it takes at least two attempts to verify and get them out.  I can't imagine what Cryptsy's difficulty could be, unless it's simple market manipulation and not actual technical problems at all, as someone else suggested- but I'm not there working on it so I don't really know a thing about it.  As it is, I don't put any money at all into Cryptsy, I just mine other coins and trade for ANCs.
