I have started a poll for voting on modifications to Eligius's payout system.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/eligius-miners-poll-proposed-changes-to-eligius-reward-system-97282

I urge all Eligius miners to vote on the topic as soon as possible.

btw, do you have any news, when the payout "after one week of inactivity" would work?
After a week of inactivity. Unfortunately, that rule doesn't mesh well with SMPPS since it keeps addresses pretty much constantly active during EC mode. Any ideas for some better logic?

I've published the source code for "sharesrv2" (our share-counting-specific database engine) on Gitorious. This thing runs so well that I often forget it exists. I also cannot provide general support for it because I haven't even looked at the code in over a year.

It can tell you how many shares each user found in any given round almost instantaneously. This is how Eligius can calculate its full history without any saved state every time it makes a new block template.

Thanks to wizkid for inspiring me to publish the code, so he can work on prototyping/writing potential replacements for SMPPS Wink

Edit: Note that I have not licensed this code yet. Anyone wishing to use it for purposes other than private playing around or experimenting with different things should contact me.

Well, I still didn't get mine after 3 ~4 months. Check the posts above for the extensive explanation.
thanks! well which posts in specific do you mean? about the DOS attack?

also, if i would mine to 1 satoshi (0.6...) would i get paid then?
See my posts in this thread. You would be paid out to the last satoshi.

After how many days/blocks of mining can we expect to see regular rewards? I used to mine at Eligius and a friend I know does as well, but my hashrate is higher by about 300 mh/s and I'm presently getting less than half the rewards he has (he's been mining there for ~year though).

I've got a good mind to restart my miners and mine for a couple of days, just to reach the ~0.67 level and clear my remaining balance now. Damn the temps here!  Grin
Mining until you were owed ~.67 wouldn't get you paid much faster (if at all), you still have to wait for enough blocks to be found to catch up everyone with older balances than yours.

It seems his balance is pretty old (he's not mining for weeks), so it would be paid very soon.

Sorry for bringing up an old topic, but my balance is still there. Although it's a small sum, but it gives me that nagging feeling of having some spare change scattered around - and I must've checked it over a thousand times during this couple of months.  Tongue My balance has stopped increasing for almost a week now (4-5 days?) and the current block estimate shows:
Quote
Current block estimate : 0.00000000 BTC

I'm confused about the reward though, it seems that for some blocks my balance would increase by a single satoshi, and sometimes not. When on earth would I receive the balance? I understand that I'll need to wait approximately 10-20 blocks from your last count (55 blocks EC) though.

Looks like those 1-satoshi rewards were from very short blocks.

I'm no expert, but I think it's the extra credit stuff. The pool recently has very bad luck and does not have coins to pay everyone in full. It will give you some and remember the extra credit for your address. When the luck will get better, you'll get more coins per share.

On the graphs, you can see the blue line what has been paid a the pink area what should have been paid.

The explanation of the reward system is here: http://eligius.st/wiki/index.php/Shared_Maximum_PPS

So how do I know what I actually mined then?  Is it the "Maximum Reward" line on the graph?

I've been mining with eligius for about a week now and I'm still baffled how the payout system works.  I read the description but I guess it's just not sinking in.

When I started mining I was being paid some small amount per block, around 0.002 BTC/block.  It's been slowly building up and is now 0.01378841 BTC/block.
I have a small mining rig running around 200 MH/s so I normally get about 0.12 BTC/day.

Where has all that mining effort been going?  I'm up very little for the week but would have about 0.84 BTC at a normal pool.  Am I missing something?

Sorry to sound cranky, I'm just trying to understand.
