Where I am located right now the two big casinos are open to the public although we are under strict pandemic rules and we have ceasefire times 06:00 - 20:00 and after these times we are forced at home until end of May.However not many people go there as they are still afraid of the virus although a lot of vaccines are done to the population here.Online gambling is preferred much more from the gamblers born in 1990 and on while gamblers who were born in 1960 surely prefer more the physical casinos.The pandemic though has shown that even those gamblers old in age are starting to dig and search for how to play online as they start to like the convenience of online gambling.

The pandemic might have had some influence but I don't think it accounts for the rise. The increase in awareness about crypto and its uses in my opinion also played a role.

After all, there wouldn't be much point in over-saturating the market with so many casinos if there wasn't a need for it - that's assuming that these people do their market research before hand. Plus the fact that these days you can gamble for free for some nice rewards is quite appealing.

We dont need lots but there are several owners whom do really tend to make even more just because of this market is booming up in terms of gambling industry.

In general, it doesn't mean that everyone shifts into crypto gambling. Online gambling means "online gambling", not crypto-gambling purely. There are lots of fiat online casinos and that's where people shifted most as not all are crypto-oriented.

I agree with you, I don't think people were just gambling to try to earn money and to "double their funds" as worle1bm said, that's more likely because people were locked down at home and were not able to bet in the streets or in physical casinos, and they got bored because there was nothing else to do. There were less leisure activities available for them, hence it makes sense they turned to on line gambling.

Well, that is the fact because people stayed at home.
But the chart of OP is only referring to the number of searches with gambling right? But honestly, when you search about gambling once, there will be a lot of ads going to anywhere you surf even on Facebook. This perhaps now shows the numbers of the people who gambled digitally, but we all know that online casinos and online gambling platforms are working really well during the pandemic. The reason is too obvious, physical casinos nowhere to be accessed. They are all closed due to lockdown. There are two reasons for such increase in number of casino users and why gambling industry is witnessing sudden boom:

I am not an online sports gambler before but just betting with friends physically and mostly when it's just the Finals game of the NBA.

I agree. Especially because I can see some hints that regulations get more liberal over time, but maybe my opinionis a bit subjective. But actually I dont know if this is a "good" development or something like a big drug wave, where all the negative consequences are not clear to the society right now.
