This pandemic almost make people do in online media like online shop, virtual job, online marketing, online gambling, online game etc. That's why online gambling also become more popular on this situation. But even though this pandemic ends, online gambling will still popular since you don't need to afraid from criminal or you can't afford the adrenaline. Because in physical gambling you need to be more wisely, patient and calm otherwise you can be mad or lose all your bankroll when the player mocking you.

Op's assuming that most of us would like physical gambling but cannot do it because of the pandemic, but that's actually a question that deserves a separate discussion IMO. For instance, while I played poker in real life, it was only for fun and with my friends. As for gambling, I only do it online and would never even go to a physical casino because I prefer not to interact with people unless I really have to, especially given the stereotypes about criminals hanging out in casinos. I think that the share of online gambling will continue to grow after the pandemic is over because it's very useful, flexible and comfortable. It's also easier for casinos because they don't need to rent a building, have that much staff and things like that.

It was very noticeable on the tables. In March and April of last year it was noticeable that there were a lot of people bored at home having a few beers who decided to play poker to pass the time. There was more traffic and it was easier to win. Then this tapered off but there was still decent traffic and some ease during 2020. This year we are back to normal with low traffic and hard tables full of regulars.

Poker was the first form of online gambling and got a lot of attention 10 years ago just to eventually not be so important anymore. People tend to prefer live tournaments, the biggest money was always on the physical tables. But due to the pandemic this changed again last year.
I am always glad to see a hype in online gambling because it means that there will be more money coming in for the casinos. And if the casinos make more money they can give more money back to the gamblers through promotions. I probably got in the last 6-12 months more free bets and free games than I got over the last 3 years. I hope that this trend will continue next year so we can all profit from it.
