you have a beautiful thing going on in this forum. Coins lunches are official if they launch from here, or at least respected. Therefore lets make the new coin regulated. Dev needs to prove he has a capable team, all wallets must be ready before lunch , at least three respected pools should be offered at lunch, no premine, no exchange entry for at least a month. etc. lets make a check list for any new additional coins.
also exchanges should be regulated. they shouldn't be allowed to spam the forum and asking new coins to "vote" to join their exchange. They also are partially at fault here.

Well, this has gone in a very disturbing direction. A self-selected group of senior members planning to 'kill' any coin that they vote upon, even using massive hashpower if they want to. No thanks.
Go back and re-read the 4 methods mentioned in the OP. Soft power, boycotts, sanctions, apply pressure to the exchanges. Yes, it'll take time rather than giving an instant kill, but that is how society progresses.
If a new coin is announced the only way to stop it is by educating people about its flaws and probable future, and even then it'll go ahead. But it may cause less damage.
