This is a natural rule. This rule applies anywhere. The cryptocurrency is the same. There are many fakes on the market that must be cleaned up. Otherwise, this market is difficult to develop healthily. I personally hope that this day will come early and all false projects will disappear.

Many community members have been claiming lately that altcoins are going to die or at least that 90% of altcoins are doomed. I tend to agree with them that there are many coins and tokens that are pointless and won't survive. Another cathegory are alts with solid foundations but won't manage to fight with their competitors as naturally there are numerous projects with same visions. But if you trust the project you invested in, there is no reason to change your mind just because someone says many altcoins won't succeed. Do your research and trust only your own judgement, because many ALTCOINS ARE HERE TO STAY!
people can say whatever they like to say and still it won't change the solid fact. what we can observe now is alts making its slow progress step by step, falling sometimes
The media manipulates people very easily. Last year, they talked only about the growth of coins, now they speak about the fall, and also about the fact that you need to invest in bitcoin. Cryptocurrency is decentralized and highly volatile that is why it is very unpredictable thus it created speculations within the community. However, not all speculations are true so we need to do our own research and trust yourself that you have choosen the best coin among all others.
Moreover, many do not intend to survive, and for them the prevailing situation on the market is beneficial. This allows them to completely abandon the fulfillment of obligations and leave investors with bare tokens. This again shows that it's not worth investing in crappy projects, which is not difficult to identify among real ones.
Your sentence make sense i invested NEO at the price of 100$ now its value less than 20$ still i am holding that . Even i invested on KCS as well as COSS still this coins lost half of this value . But i am believing in the product . Some coins i invested based on hype these coins became disaster some example are Credits , Titanium . SO do enough research you will never worry even coins value goes to bottom.

Keep an eye on top 500 coins on coinmarketcap they are going to survive but i am not sure about remaining part.

That is a very bold thing to say, similar to “mining is dead”. Nothing is dead, doomed or ending. Whatever the market or volatility is now, cryptocurrencies and blockchain are now slowly taking the world. You can’t expect that altcoins have the same agitation, which happened when Bitcoin first grew to $20.000.
And yes, some altcoins will organically dissolve. I just don’t get it, why is that such a big thing? Look around - banks are drowning from time to time (but the new ones are opening), millionaires going bankrupt giving place to the new ones, fashion brands are born and reborn. That is the jungle law. And whatever happens to cryptocurrencies applies to the same principles.
If you are a smart investor you follow the rules of diversification. If you are a smart miner you follow the “no quick cash-out - play a longterm game”.

altcoins are still have strong impacts on the market besides bitcoin so they will survive, people who said you that literally haven't done their homework.
Currently over Coinmarkercap there are over 1800 coins, but not sure all of them will survive. There will be some coins disappearing because of poor project and no development, and some altcoin will do well.
Well it depends on the team behind those altcoins if they were abandon it obviously can't survive but people will judge just like bitcoin most of them says it will not be more than $10.
Yes, weak altcoins, projects in which few people believe will not survive. I think there will only be popular altcoins.
It is natural that as the concept of cryptocurrency and blockchain develops, there will be distinguishing the boys from the men. It is not in doubt that some tokens are just shit. So as the adoption becomes more real, most tokens will die a natural death.
Also true is the other side you mentioned, competition. Yes. As the experiences come through, the older tokens can only improve else the new tokens will definitely outwit them in incorporating recent problem-solving tools.

Every investor who buys cryptocurrency will have his/her reasons, but I don't understand why most investors will panic when the market changes slightly, losing the rationality of buying!
Which people and what type of altcoin, some of altcoin have great product and real usecase. Even though we have to admit that most of them are just money grabber project. But there are also many of altcoin has bright future, we just need to do more research if we want to invest on altcoins. Bitcoin is already world famous, and have mass adoption, so we can just spend our money on Bitcoin without worrying on anything, and most of altcoin is new, but does not mean that all of them is a "scam" project. Just do some research, it will help.
This is only the opinion of people. Everyone has their own opinion. On the contrary, I believe that soon altcoin will rise sharply. Time will tell
Precisely, better to do your research and don't listen to someone's opinion take your time and make your own study, some alt coins will survive those who have good usage will be adopted by their target venue businesses somehow will adopt project that will help them grows and make easy transactions platform.
I think there are a lot of project who will die. There are a lot of scam project. But there are very good projects too and new ones they will come again.

It is part of the market that sometimes we experienced up's and down... But even this things happen in the market we cant say also that altcoin cannot survive this situation... Altcoin has a potential also in the market but as for it is just only establishing its foundation... There are alots of altcoin that has also a great potential like eth.. And other... Though the price of it today is low bit still it will survive...
