Everything will survive when there are people accept it. You just take a scanning look, most of people still believe the vale of Alt coins. Then, I think they will surive for sure. But which will survive, which will not... is a difficult problem to say.

Many community members have been claiming lately that altcoins are going to die or at least that 90% of altcoins are doomed. I tend to agree with them that there are many coins and tokens that are pointless and won't survive. Another cathegory are alts with solid foundations but won't manage to fight with their competitors as naturally there are numerous projects with same visions. But if you trust the project you invested in, there is no reason to change your mind just because someone says many altcoins won't succeed. Do your research and trust only your own judgement, because many ALTCOINS ARE HERE TO STAY!
Yes altcoin will not exist. But only for the altcoin there is no product. Altcoin has no community, no volum. Those altcoin will die in 2018 because the market becomes more severe for the altcoin. Only good altcoin can survive

I think it's a good option to protect the investments, to invest mainly in coins, which remain afloat for several years. Is the first is bitcoin, then ETH, then monero, dash, ripple (although it's so all the critics), cardano, iota. Also I don't get tired to believe in Stratis, I think it will show many more X's.  Of the new assets-EOS. But I think it's too early to buy. At least the entire deposit is not worth it, and it is better to wait out these troubled times in fiat currencies or USDT.

I do not care what people say. What you do is important, what you think is important, I think many of the subcoins will die, but the rest will rise incredibly.

There are over a thousand listed in the coinmarketcap, part of those altcoins have not the real product, just only scam the money after listing in the exchange, I think those altcoins can not survive, but not all them.

I also think more than 90% will die, although, given the fact there are over 2000 altcoins from which a vast number are shitcoins this is only logical since there is no use for shit projects in this space. However, there are still some many good projects that can fundamentally solve real world issues, altcoins will never die off altogether. Just find the right ones and hodl. Being patient with your investments and keeping strong hands is the way to go and will make some substantial profits in the long run.

Some will survive, few will thrive, most of them will die out, face it.
Most of them are really shitty coins and shitty projects.

As you can see now, many big projects have already lost 90% of their ICO price. They are almost dead.

Well, most altcoins stop at making a product and getting listed on Exchanges. The main thing has to be mass adoption by people or businesses. And that has been the missing factor.

It is speculation. Thus altcoin will be able to survive in quite a long time. many support starts flowing for altcoin and certainly will be able to make altcoin more expensive and will have many enthusiasts. This course directly makes altcoin become increasingly powerful and certainly could last longer.

I think so too, that some altcoins will die. Especially altcoins that cannot compete in the crypto market. But some coins will still survive. I still believe that coins like Ripple, NEO, Ethereum, IOTA, Monero and EOS will get better value.

the ones you mentioned are the biggest ones, well they have all it takes to survive if they keep up with the market. But even many more smaller ones will surely be here for years to come

They're just those people with some technical knowledge about cryptos and they're right. But not all altcoins won't survive because there are so many altcoins that are very potential to survive even the harshest crypto environment. For those cryptos who can't stand against its competitors, then they will probably won't survive.

Ill think that's not true altcoins won't survive as of now if we look back time many altcoins are trusted and we can earn on altcoins. But we need to choose of the altcoins that we need t invest because some of them are not worth it.

Not all but very few of them have the potential to really survive in the market, but bitcoin still remains the ultimate dough faces competition from some other altcoins.
Bitcoin no matter what these altcoins are going remains the strongest of them all.
In this market, altcoins are here to stay but their are many altcoins that wouldn't survive. Their are a lot of altcoins that does not have any use case in my opinion. At least, 80% of altcoins would die off but their is would still be solid altcoins in this market that would thrive and grow well.
Crypto's are here to stay to be specific and yet that's the fate of some altcoins, they won't survive once bitcoin dominance increases again. Every altcoiner will convert their holdings to bitcoin.

Of course, those projects that will not develop and follow their plans will disappear, but 90% of all altcoins are too much, I think. The total number of coins (projects) will be constantly subject to correction, and new projects will appear and the old ones that will not compete will disappear.
natural law will apply in crypto market. coins that do not have good potential and function will be left by their investors. now investors are becoming smarter after there are many ico who are scam.

90% of altcoin that won't survive is an exaggerated calculation. Even shit coins still listed on coinmarketcap until today because the trading volume still circulates in the market. If cryptocurrencies doom's day will come, I might say that only 30% of altcoins will be wiped out. There are a lot of altcoins in the market that really got a potential and already being used in the real world for online transactions and payments.
