HiveNet - Distributed Cloud Computing
I have a rig that I have tried pretty much all of the BaMT distros on, including PiMP.

It has a 5870 and a 6950 in it.

In windows with SG miner I can get a stable 420kh on the 5870 and 480kh on the 6950.

I've literally spent days with all of the different distros adjusting core/mem speeds, etc.

No matter what the best I've been able to get is 330kh on the 5870 and 420kh on the 6950 and they fluctuate all over the place +/- 30kh in either direction.

Has anyone been able to achieve the same speeds on one of the distros as they have in windows stably with no fluctuation?

Please implement https://github.com/lasybear/sph-sgminer_x11mod - much faster.

Or just write instructions on how to upgrade Smiley
It's in the update-script already, but there's a few manual steps to make it work

Good to know. Can anyone write step-by-step how to do this update for PIMP? I guess quite a few people would be happy to donate for such help Smiley

Thanks, i didn't realize this OS was meant to be for headless miners. Its making more sense now.

 I am using regular GPUs, can i just copy/paste my cgminer.conf file over from BAMT and have it work correctly?
Yes, I think you can do that, more or less.
I use the same parameters as I used in Windows and it works. Only better!

I have a few questions that nobody seems to be able to answer?HuhHuhHuhHuh
with the latest version "PIMP 1.4.2, on one rig I have  2 msi tf 7950"s and 3 gridseeds gc3355
everything is working fine but what I can NOT do is find a way how to see both from the same machine in the farm view page? anyone please help with this.....
also on another rig running the same version I have tried to run an antminer U1 I have two and would like to use the empty usb ports on that machine without having to fire up another and with the same issue as the first question?

thank you guys so much in advance and hope to hear some good news?Huh??

I am having trouble getting PIMP up and running. I flash my USB drive, start up the computer and it loads and then asks me for the root password. I enter "live" and then i am at a command prompt. I type "pimp" and this screen pops up.

img

"mine start" and "edit" are not recognized commands. (they dont do anything)
where do i go from here?

Type "ifconfig" to get the rig's ipaddress, it's probably giving you the ip when you log in as well.

use this number from the webbrowser on another computer on your home-network and do all the config from there.

There's also a very nice "getting started" here: http://getpimp.org/info/getting-started.html

Hello,

I have a Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5708 NIC that PIMP wont recognize, hopefully someone can help me get this going.

The file that contains the driver I need is located here:

http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/pool/non-free/f/firmware-nonfree/firmware-bnx2_0.36+wheezy.1_all.deb

When I boot the PIMP& go to terminal, PIMP wont let me install
I try:  sudo dpkg -i  firmware-bnx......deb
I get:
update-initramfs: deferring update (trigger activated)

Does anyone know how to get around this??

thanks!!

PIMPED my rigs for a while and will donate some more soon.

would love to see some extra mining kernels added in the : blake / x13 (although it's quite easy doing it myself)

Please, help me. I used to run Pimp without any problems. Now I am having issues with two rigs, both running Gigabyte 270 cards on Biostar HB61 mobo.

Basically Pimp gets booted in text mode. On exact same computer using exact same USB stick, it no longer boots in graphical mode. The only thin that I have touched was UTP cable that I have change from one switch to the other router. But even if I switch cable back, Pimp stays in the same text mode.

Hi,

thanks for Pimp. Great work.

Would somebody explain, how to increase default partition? For example, if I write image to 16Gb USB, how can I convert first partition to increase size. For example, in order to install some wallets, or file manager (for example Nautilus)... or some additional miner (e.g. Nan)

Hi everyone, can someone please help me with my sgminer config for darkcoin or other x11 coins. I have 2 Radeon R9 290's using the latest PiMP OS.

Here is what I currently have set but I only seem to get about 2.2Mh/s per card when i see other people able to get 2.5Mh/s:

"auto-fan" : true,
"intensity" : "20",
"vectors" : "1",
"worksize" : "256",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "0",
"shaders" : "0",
"api-listen" : true,
"api-port" : "4028",
"api-allow" : "W:127.0.0.1",
"gpu-threads" : "1",
"gpu-dyninterval" : "7",
"gpu-platform" : "0",
"gpu-engine" : "0",
"gpu-memclock" : "0",
"gpu-powertune" : "20",
"gpu-vddc" : "0.00",
"gpu-fan" : "40-100",
"temp-hysteresis" : "3",
"temp-cutoff" : "95",
"temp-overheat" : "90",
"temp-target" : "80",
"log" : "5",
"no-pool-disable" : true,
"queue" : "1",
"expiry" : "20",
"scan-time" : "60",
"shares" : "0",
"kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin",
"kernel" : "darkcoin"

Thanks!

Try to increase your "gpu-threads" to 2 or 4. First with a much lower intensity (13), then increase it gradually again while monitoring that you don't get any HW errors.

Another thing that did it for me was setting the "gpu-engine" to 947 and "gpu-memclock" to 1250, but this is specific for my card and you might want to have a look at https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison to get an idea about tweaks for your card.

It's a good idea to SSH (with Putty if you're on Windows) into the rig to adjust the intensity live, as in without rebooting.

Send me a Datoshi if I helped  Grin

Just moved around 20 rigs onto PiMP from BAMT and it is working great.  Really excited to have some complete farm control in the near future!
