AJ won't be fighting anyone for a while anyway so I think Fury should just take the trilogy fight, secure the biggest bag of his career then he can move on to the AJ fights. No point dragging it out in arbitration which could go on a very long time when Fury can put an end to it and everyone can move on.
This is a big disappointment, we were expecting a mega fight next year and yet this news came. So as long as AJ hold those belts he would not fight Fury as he is afraid to lose all of those, hmmm.. very clever man, he is not a real champion for me now.

I think boxing media thinks that Joshua will just steam roll on Pulev and the fight shouldn't last for 9 rounds before that knockout. He had him in round 4 on the canvass already if I'm not mistaken and it took another 5 more rounds to finish him.

So that's why he didn't get the praise that he was supposed to get in this fight. They think that Joshua is now playing safe and not aggressive enough to go for an early knock down.

Pulev's performance was disappointing, but he wasn't that bad to give a 4th round knockout victory to Anthony Joshua. AJ had to work hard for his win, and it was not a cakewalk. The outcome was more or less certain, as the odds were heavily favoring Joshua. But the next match against Fury will be different, and there he will be the underdog. On top of that Fury is in top form right now.

Pulev is a lot older than AJ and pushing 40. He's on his way out as a boxer but I think he did pretty well to survive as long as he did. I don't think Fury will beat AJ as easily as you lot seem to be making out. That was AJs first fight in a long time and Fury will have been out of action for a while as well before he gets to face AJ, assuming he also doesn't have a tune up fight in the meantime which might actually happen as he will probably have a mandatory soon (or Wilder will get his trilogy fight which is a still a string possibility).

Eddie Hearn said recently that all four belts may be dropped to get the fight done which is silly to me. Surely a big draw of this fight is that all the belts will be on the line. Take them away and it's just a fight between two boxers really.

Quote
Promoter Eddie Hearn says Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury may consider dropping all four world title belts to ensure their potential fight happens.

The all-British heavyweight showdown would be the first fight in history in which all four heavyweight titles are on the line.

Fury, 32, is WBC champion while Joshua, 31, holds the IBF, WBA and WBO belts.

"We have a fight on our hands, and sorry to the governing bodies, that eclipses all belts," Hearn said.

Over 83% of the users participating in the poll were correct in that Joshua would win the fight but in all honesty how many people here actually thought it would take 9 rounds for Joshua to win. Pulev was a tricky opponent, he made life difficult for Joshua.
He was really a tricky one, on and off the court but what matters is Joshua were able to put an additional win in this record.
People are still disappointed despite him winning and I hope he will prove us wrong and give us a good fight when he will face Fury.

In my opinion it just showed that Joshua does not have the tools to beat Fury if that unification fight ever took place.
I have 40/60.. 40% only for Joshua to win in that fight.

It wasn't an intense game for Puleb, he talked so much outside the ring only to get himself knockout inside the right. Pulev try to market the game but people are not happy, they are also expecting that Joshua will win easily and not to take this fight longer.

Well, maybe we can consider this fight as a tune up fight for Joshua in this big fight with Fury, but people should already know now who is the better fighter between Fury and Joshua although they both are winners on their previous respective fights.

I agree with you.

The performance of Pulev was a bit underwhelming IMO especially that I was expecting it to be a close fight. AJ gave him a run for his money and his trash-talking, though everything was done in order to market the fight.
After the game, I watched about AJ saying that 'let it be Tyson Fury'. This game will surely be exciting and I want to see this happening in the near future! If such game continues, I'm betting all of my money to the Gypsy King!

Same here, no hesitation, Fury will KO Joshua with the way he is fighting now, he is big but Fury is big as well, so this is going to be a great fight. I think betting on Fury to KO Joshua, that way you'll get a good odds as Fury is already a favorite to win this fight.

I agree with this, he wasn't the same after he lose, he was playing safe now and just use his height advantage and length but he cannot do that with Fury as Fury is aggressive and tall as well, that's why people wants him to fight Fury because they want him to get KOd again, lol.
People wanting to see Joshua getting knockout the hell out of him again,  Grin. Fury is very different and all of Joshua's advantages will be negated, as Fury is the taller and the heavier puncher of the two. and Fury said that Joshua needs to sign the  contract and that's it. He can't outboxed Fury, but he has a puncher's chance, and that is the only chance that he will win, knockout Fury with a uppercut, that is if he gets lucky.

Let us not forget it took Joshua 9 rounds to defeat Pulev and he managed to knock him out in the final few seconds of that round. If Pulev managed to stand up the referee would have allowed the fight to continue which means at very earliest Joshua could have won was the 10th.

On current form he would struggle against Wilder and have no chance against Fury.

I dont think that he can even struggle against Wilder, if he would be in same shape as he was in his first fight against Fury.
Ruiz showed how not ideal Joshua's defence is, and how he hold punches. Will he be able to hold aggression from Bronze Bomber?
Agree, he has zero chances against Fury. He wont outbox him and win on cards, neither he is able to KO Fury.

Joshua seems wasn't praise in his fight against Pulev, people are not satisfied with the way he showed that he wasn't so aggressive in the fight. Personally, I think Joshua is still a dangerous fighter but his style if he will not adjust, he might loss against Fury or Wilder.

Joshua has changed since that lose to Andy Ruiz and for me that's the right thing to do. Some said that how can a fighter who was not even impressive on this prime and at old age will be Anthony Joshua  Smiley but my argument here is that there is always that one lucky punch that can change the outcome of the fight just like the fight between Whyte and Povetkin.

That may be true, but most of the gambling sites have Tyson Fury as the favorite in a potential fight between him and Joshua. Joshua's knockout victory against Kubrat Pulev doesn't seems to have changed much. Betfair has Joshua at 11/8, compared to Fury at 4/7, and the odds have remained at this level for the past few weeks. I would rather give equal odds to both the boxers and that means that right now it is more attractive to bet in favor of Joshua.

Again, still boils down to the arbitration, if the mediator see that and mandated a Fury vs Wilder first, then Joshua vs Fury might wait for a bit. (Fury needs to win against Wilder though).
Promoters should understand that there is huge money and interest that will generate if the Joshua - Fury happens than the Fury Wilder 3, fans especially the British people wants to see who is the greatest British heavyweight boxer and probably the greatest boxer of this generation, so much is at stake on this fight, then the Fury Wilder trilogy.

If the Wilder trilogy fight doesn't happen before the AJ one then it almost certainly won't happen at all. Fury doesn't want to fight him again and will likely only do so if he's forced to by the courts. His camp argues that the contract is null and void because it expired but Wilder's Camp are claiming it's still valid because of covid meant they couldn't schedule it in time. Now the arbitration courts will have to decide who is in the wrong/right. It's a tricky situation because of covid and whilst Fury is probably in the right as the timeframe to get it done has certainly elapsed the pandemic is an exceptional circumstance so he might still be due it. Personally I think he should do the trilogy fight then move on to AJ later in the year. The AJ fights probably wont go on until they can have full capacity with fans and that might be a while anyway. AJ also might not want to fight straight away.

He's been out of the ring for a while so there's the ring rust as they say, but he probably could have taken Pulev down a lot earlier. I'm not sure why he didn't to be honest.

Outstanding performance by AJ from start to finish. He controlled the fight from the first bell, I hope we soon get the fight everybody wants to see, AJ vs Fury to unify the heavyweight division.
If both fighters are not afraid of each other, they will fight, and if promoters would really love big money, they will fight.
This is the biggest fight in the heavyweight division next year so it should happen, it's like a Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight, but I'm hoping it's more entertaining.

It wasn't a one sided match, but still Kubrat Pulev was no match for Anthony Joshua. I have a feeling that Tyson Fury would be able to give a tougher challenge to Joshua. But previous attempts to schedule a match between the two ended up with nothing, and right now Fury seems to be quite busy with his trilogy fight against American fighter Deontay Wilder.

That's what I noticed too, but you can't blame the fans, it seems like they did not see what they were expecting from Joshua, it was expected that Joshua would finish Pulev early with a KO win, but it didn't happen, it was in the late round where Pulev got knock out, and actually Pulev is not anymore on his prime that's why Joshua had easily dominated him.
