On current form he would struggle against Wilder and have no chance against Fury.
I am expecting Anthony Joshua to win against Wilder, Anthony Joshua knows to box while Wilder only looks to win the fight by a single punch and Anthony Joshua will be smart enough to avoid that heavy punch and with the excuses he is coming up against his loss against Tyson Fury i doubt whether Wilder will be mentally accepting his flaws as well and Anthony Joshua came back from a defeat and performed well understanding his flaws.

Hard to argue with your view. Fury will probably punish Joshua first by out boxing him then by knocking him out then by taking all his heavy-weight titles and unifying them all.
We cant finalized what will transpire in Joshua vs Fury fight with the way Joshua fought Pulev and I don't know if you aware Joshua learned a massive lesson from his loss to Ruiz Jr. and ever since then his fight move has to do with his opponent.

Let us not forget it took Joshua 9 rounds to defeat Pulev and he managed to knock him out in the final few seconds of that round. If Pulev managed to stand up the referee would have allowed the fight to continue which means at very earliest Joshua could have won was the 10th.

On current form he would struggle against Wilder and have no chance against Fury.

We see it the same way, Joshua seems soft compared to the two boxers, a Joshua vs Wilder would be very exciting, but of course since he is a champion, he needs to fight a champion as well and that is Fury, now, if these two will fight soon, it would be interesting to know the betting odds as I'll certainly bet on Fury early.

I really don't think so, In my honest opinion I think Anthony Joshua decided to be more conservative and not force the knockout early, he chose to use all his strategies wisely, attacks, and recoveries  included.. The match could have been ended earlier if Joshua decided to go full force on Pulev, I believe.. And the match could also have been ended both times when Pulev turned his back (synonymous to walking away) as it usually happen in boxing.

All in all, I'm strongly opined that Anthony Joshua does stand more than a chance, be it Wilder or against Fury.

I will reckon that Fury might have a @1.40 odds in the beginning if ever a Fury vs Joshua will happen in the future.

Does anyone really think that Pulev has a chance against Joshua here? It's good that there some trash talking during the weigh in, but if you look at the odds, Joshua is clearly the favourite and he did what he needed to do by knocking out Pulev with good uppercut and finished him with the right hand.

Now that Joshua wins, Fury and Joshua needs to settle things as to who is the best Heavyweight right now.

Again, still boils down to the arbitration, if the mediator see that and mandated a Fury vs Wilder first, then Joshua vs Fury might wait for a bit. (Fury needs to win against Wilder though).
Promoters should understand that there is huge money and interest that will generate if the Joshua - Fury happens than the Fury Wilder 3, fans especially the British people wants to see who is the greatest British heavyweight boxer and probably the greatest boxer of this generation, so much is at stake on this fight, then the Fury Wilder trilogy.

We can't really tell what the arbitration outcome will be. Remember that Fury also have a scheduled fight this December if I'm not mistaken, but it was cancelled and I would assume because they might have pre-empted the arbitration process and Bob Arum knows this.

That's why we are not sure if Fury vs AJ will happen first, or if the judge favours Wilder, then we will see a Wilder vs Fury trilogy first before the all British shutdown of Fury vs AJ.

Still, a lot of money for Fury on both fights, so it's literally a 'win-win' situation for him.

I'm hoping that the most awaited match up will be realized next year, let's give them a little break and a big preparation next year.
It would be nice if they'll announce the fight as early as possible so it will create some hype and will help them generate a lot of money since that's what they want.

then the Fury Wilder trilogy.
I believe no one would be interested in this fight after the Fury vs Joshua, cause they might have a rematch if it will be a controversial fight.

Joshua proves himself too much for Pulev people thought he will be a technical fighter after his loss to Ruiz but he proves that he is the same Joshua that can knock out anybody in the ring and now all roads go to the Joshua - Fury fight which is fortunately for us will happen this 2021
Yes, Joshua proves himself again, finished the part of his bargain, and then we will wait what the arbitration on Wilder Fury next year. And if everything goes smooth we will see Fury vs Joshua then. That is the fight we wanted to see. We are tired of Wilder's drama and antics.

I hope the fight will not be delayed the only two fighters missing on Joshua's resume are Fury and Wilder, if he beat these two fighters he will become the greatest fighter of this generation.

Pulev is just all talk and tries to bully Joshua before the fight, Joshua just made a big statement and he proves that he is back and he is still dangerous, now all talks will be on the Fury Joshua fight, this is the fight that must happen and it should happen in 2021 in times when the pandemic will be totally controlled.
Game over, that upper cut hit Pulev clean, he was able to survive but the next shot was the straight right and he wasn't able to rise again. Congratulations to Anthony Joshua for this big win, he was so focus, so he deserved this win.  Yay!, next fight will be Fury vs Joshua.

Joshua did what we all expected him to do. Now it is time to make the fight everybody wants to see against Tyson Fury. There is still the legal action by Deontay Wilder against Fury and also Joshua might be mandated to fight Usyk. I think Joshua should just drop the WBO belt if he is forced to make that fight or pay a really big step aside fee to Usyk. Joshua vs. Fury is the only fight that matters in the division and they should put politics aside to make it happen.

Joshua won by a TKO in the ninth round he won all rounds it was an easy fight for Joshua those hard uppercuts gave Pulev wobbly legs and Joshua finish it with a straight right this will set up a fight against Fury, and Joshua have proven that Bob Arum and Fury is very wrong in giving a prediction about the fight.

Yes, Joshua is on cruise control in this fight, in the third round Pulev was also down. So at that point we have seen what Joshua can do, it's just a matter of time for him to get a knock out again. We know where Bob Arum and Fury is coming from, of course they wanted their boy Pulev to win, but it ain't happening and no upset here.

I believed that Joshua vs Fury will happen soon, there's too much money to make for this domestic fight.

If that match will happen, that will be money-making game for both camps. As I went back on this thread, I voted for Joshua also as it seemed that this was really an easy fight for Joshua. Anyway, maybe time to lock this thread and create another discussion thread for Joshua's next fight.  Wink

That uppercut though, it was successive that put Pulev and then after that he was hit by an overhand right and his face is bloodied. So it was really a mismatch as AJ was really having some fun in the fight and just smiling.

As for Joshua vs Fury, I do agree with most posters, I will favour Fury as well, Gypsy King is well rounded, has a good chin has the height advantage and I would say has experienced because he has a better resume than Joshua. Let's hope that we can see them in the ring in 2021.

Certainly was not a TKO because Pulev was unable to stand up after he hit the canvas. If the referee had stopped the fight while Pulev was standing then yes it would be a TKO but that did not happen.

Fury vs Joshua will happen in 2021 and with a re-match clause inserted they will have two fights. If it ends up being 1-1 then a trilogy will have to settle it but for me Fury will win.

Joshua knocks out Pulev. It is all over.

What's your assessment on Joshua?

Is he ready to face the Gypsy King and be the king in the Heavyweight division?

He's ready, but most probably, Furry will be the favorite.

Joshua was, without a doubt, was the better player tonight. Pulev doesn't stand a chance (and cost me my bet Joshua to win by decision Sad As I read somewhere after the match - Pulev was awkward but not a threat...
