I do not believe that using an AI for prediction of gambling or sporting events is a good idea. Not only does it take away all the fun of gambling from you but it will not give you the result you are looking for. Why? Because there are too many variables and predicting an outcome is technically impossible. Even if you were to use an artificial intelligence.

And since when have we started thinking that our current, modern AI technology is anywhere near ready enough to compete with the human mind? Sure it can calculate faster but so can an ordinary windows 98 computer from the 90s. I am not satisfied enough with AI progress to trust it with my money.

I just voted NO poll because I don't believe the AI chose the right bet for me let alone made me lose a lot of money because the bet looks like any bet is not suitable also using this advanced technology it's better to use the analysis available on google

ChatGPT is all the rage at the moment. I’ve seen that people are asking it to predict sporting events. Would you leave gambling decisions up to artificial intelligence? Do you see any potential drawbacks for outsourcing your bets to a software program? Has anyone here tried this yet? Do we need someone to put together a thread of ChatGPT predictions to see how accurate they are?  Any other thoughts?
I've seen some videos about ChatGPT and I think it is one of the most advanced open to public AI that we can get for free right now. So many people are getting interested with it given that it can produce amazing results. I believe that sooner or later it would be improved and will be recreated to be focus on becoming a perfect tool in making money online. I'm speculating that it could be used on gambling and on trading where there are money involved and there will be a time that AI gambling prediction will be more accurate than human predictions. I haven't tried anything like this before but I think it is possible that someone will focus on creating an AI that is focus on gambling predictions and surely it will improve over the time as I'm expecting that the AI will have it's own self learning technology. We are headed in the future and ChatGPT is one of the living proof that we are near to it.

Would you leave gambling decisions up to artificial intelligence?
not really, I enjoy making my own decisions when betting( even though I rarely bet on sports) but it would be an interesting option to have.

Do you see any potential drawbacks for outsourcing your bets to a software program?
not sure if it is a drawback but I have a feeling that there are people who might get too dependent on it.

Has anyone here tried this yet?
not me, and it's my first time hearing about it.

Do we need someone to put together a thread of ChatGPT predictions to see how accurate they are?
I'd say yeah just because I am interested to see how accurate the prediction will be.

I voted No.

Even though ChatGPT is popular, I would not give the decision to artificial intelligence. I better use my way of analyzing the team and choosing the team. Besides, I don't know if it's a good decision to use it or if it won't work well.

After all, this artificial intelligence still needs to be developed even better and while this artificial intelligence, we can still use the method as usual.

It would be nice to know what data the ChatGPT uses to predict the game outcome because if it uses data from the web for sure it will always recommend the player/team that already has better odds to win.

But as we know, sports can be crazy, and the game of Argentina vs Arabia was a big surprise for all. I'm sure an AI didn't see that outcome coming because real facts can't be predicted just by analyzing the past. Life is random, and sometimes the low odds hits.

Definitely not, I will not blindly trust an AI to make sports prediction for me as I have my own decision who to bet on certain sports. Maybe I will try to ask, and see if we have the same prediction. And that's where the fun is, you have to analyze and believed in yourself that you will win.

Do you see any potential drawbacks for outsourcing your bets to a software program? Has anyone here tried this yet? Do we need someone to put together a thread of ChatGPT predictions to see how accurate they are?  Any other thoughts?

I think this thread will be good for all things related to ChatGPT.

For the drawbacks, again, their will be no challenge for us if we will based on this AI to make predictions for us.

Do you see any potential drawbacks for outsourcing your bets to a software program?
Some of it's drawbacks are;
-It will Kill the fun in betting. A part of the fun in betting is the uncertainty and the suspense in not knowing if you will win or loose.

-It has the Potential to make people Lazy, and not to want to read or decide to want to know more about the sports they are betting on.

-People will depend more on betting to make money, the dependence on it can pose a danger to one's life since the AI cannot be correct all the time, the over dependence can cause depression whenever the AI doesn't get it correctly.

Would you leave gambling decisions up to artificial intelligence?
I can take tips, but the final decision will be mine to analyze.

I haven't tried it yet but maybe just for fun I'd love to do it but in all seriousness, maybe I'll take its prediction, and maybe not. It's still on me to decide whether I'll take the prediction as my sole decision if I think that we're in line with what's with my analysis.
But if there's really one that has established its name and proven to be effective, then casinos might ban the use of it.

Most of the time I've seen only regarding with the automatic bet only but regarding with the prediction which teams will win the game does not seems yet and also sports betting is not too much predictable unless there's an algorithm made about the statistics of the team of and the possible ratio of the winning or the odds to win the game but it's a sports game might be a game changer in a single mistake.

I voted no in the poll, it's too early to have a AI generated that can predict the outcome of any sports.

It might take some years though before it can be developed, nevertheless, who will feed them with information, right still us humans. So probably they are good at analyzing the data being feedback to them, sort of the AI that has been developed for chess. So possible scenario already laid out by the AI in his 'brain', and then probably making his decision or prediction based on that.

I know and I am seeing all around Linkedin that everybody in the tech where I also work is talking about this so I will also say my two cents for the meter.

Will ChatGPT be more intelligent and work harder than me? No
Will ChatGPT be more cautious about events like driving than me? Probably No
Will ChatGPT be a good content writer? Yes most probably
Will ChatGPT be a good predictor for betting events ? I don't think so

The reason I don't believe it can be a good predictor is that I doubt it can also calculate the influence a referee has on a football game and thus making this tool not work.

Not sure if we should rely to AI though, it has limited knowledge, like what I got when I ask him about a NBA games

"I'm sorry, but I am not able to browse the internet or access current information about sports games. I am a large language model trained by OpenAI and my knowledge is based on the text that I have been trained on, which has a fixed cutoff date. I am not able to provide up-to-date information or make predictions about current events. Is there something else I can help you with?"

So I guess we shouldn't depend on ask it a question to predict outcomes. There are a lot of factors to look at before making a prediction. And I don't think that it was designed to do it. Although we love AI and how it will be useful in the future, but there are things that we humans can only answer with your brain.

I've recently heard of it, mainly from StackOverflow banning its usage iirc. I tried and tested it after seeing this though and said some random matchups from the world cup, the AI just answered me that it was impossible to predict the outcome since it's based on various factors, and I'm glad it actually knows.

Maybe in the future, we'd be able to see an AI actually analyze matchup histories, quantity player stats and skills and make decisions based on that, but that might be pretty far off in the future, especially if we consider how quantifying player statistics may be impossible or fully accurate since, well, that requires specialized testing.

I'm not going to leave betting decisions to artificial intelligence because I've never used it or seen how it analyzes matches or anything else. As long as I can still find additional information to support my analysis, I will still stick with my usual methods. But with this growing technology, it could happen in the future, especially if artificial intelligence is more advanced than now. But if there is an experiment to try artificial intelligence in a match, I may try it while seeing how it gathers information.
I’m not sure how it’ll work although it can be reliable in identifying problem gamblers but when it comes to a match, I can see it may never be sustainable. So just like you, I’ll stick with what I believe that will work on me. I cannot compromise my own money just by relying alone on AI, I have to find more reliable datas for my analysis and predictions. But yes, maybe in the future it can be possible as high technologies can somehow be reliable even if it’s not completely accurate.

I remember that some scientists used an algorithm to predict the winner of the 2022 World Cup. The algorithm predicted that Belgium would reach the final... Yeah, that didn't end well.
Maybe at some point in the future, the AI will become good enough to predict sports events or casino game outcomes. Will this make the gambling industry obsolete? Will the gambling industry adapt and create games, that are harder to predict? Probably yes. Who knows?
I hear about ChatGPT for the first time and I have never used this tool. I don't believe that this tool will be accurate.

I think it's possible for artificial intelligence with AI technology to be used in other fields, for example things that are more important to help other humans.
I would not be interested in using it in gambling let alone putting my money in bets using this technology even though the predictions are accurate 90% or 100% I still use my experience and mind to bet on sports betting gambling

I voted No on pooling and tried to google about this, betting using AI is not only possible for players but also sportsbooks use it too so that they can predict what bettors will choose, so this will be more profitable for the bookies, and what bettors get from AI is only limited to data so the final result remains in the match itself.

no (i will not entrust one single bet to AI), ChatGPT is amazing, no debate but AI only analyzes a match through history and player conditions but 'ball is ball', wins that occur on the field are really difficult to predict.

A powerful AI that is being provided with the necessary information can predict football match for instance. If the player ratings of both teams is given to the AI, the availability of players given it, the head to head history given to the AI, the weather condition given to the AI, the importance of the match to both teams given to the AI, I think the AI can make soke good predictions. But I will not leave it 100% without interference.
