Porto 1 - 3 Rio Ave

this was a funny game, in the 1st half Rio Ave managed to score 3 goals, all because Porto defense was almost non-existent and Rio Ave managed to take advantage of that and congratulations, in the 2nd half Porto woke up and started attacking Rio Ave, in this part and which became something to laugh about, had the penalty in which the port failed because the ball went to hit the goal post, then again another ball hit the goal post, the shots of the players from porto went straight to the goalkeeper of the river Ave and from so many attempts by the port that they managed to score 1 goal. but this result may mean that this season porto may not be champions, normally when porto loses a game at the beginning of the season and it is enough for them to be destabilized and lose more then they may not be champions, all that benfica needs to do is consent to avoid mistakes, they can't make the same mistakes of the past we can be champions

Arouca 0 - 6 Braga

 Shocked

it was an excellent game that braga did, they scored 2 goals in the first 4 minutes, that was just incredible, braga dominated the whole game, they easily won this game and if they manage to maintain this rhythm then they can go far this season, maybe until they can fight for the title

Benfica are looking the best out of them all in the league, who would've thought another big surprise would happen in the match of Porto where they lost 3-1, but I still think it's not that big of deal for them, it could be just one bad match, but Benfica are better in my opinion by winning comfortably.

Porto's 3-1 defeat against Rio Ave is perhaps the most surprising result of this journey. It is true that Sporting's defeat is significant, but at the moment the team is not doing well. Porto, on the other hand, had been playing consistently, and was coming off a victory against a rival Sporting. So Rio Ave - an experienced team in this vision, showed an excellent attitude and won the game.

If Benfica wins the next game, they will be isolated in the first place and in a more comfortable situation for the next challenges.

Boavista FC 0 - 3 SL Benfica

wow, benfica is playing very well, they managed to score 3 goals and didn't concede, that's a good thing knowing that they have a very tight schedule due to games in the european competition that are also having a good performance, I believe that this season we have chance to be champions

I watched Sporting game against Chaves. They controlled game, but didn't managed to score. Like that wouldn't be enough, they conceded 2 goals in 3 minutes and then winning game become almost impossible for them.
But saying that they're out of title race just after 4 rounds is a bit ridiculous. Yeah, they lost to Porto already, but there is so many games between Big 3 teams remaining. Also, things may change when calendar will become more intensive with UEFA and domestic cups.

another terrible score for Sporting but this time not against a big team like Porto, it was against a new team to Liga Portugal, with the odds of 17 for Chaves to win, it was crazy that they lost 2-0 against them

it was a very humiliating and sad defeat, the sporting coach Rúben Amorim before that game he made changes in the composition of the usual team, and according to the news channels they didn't understand why he put players who were not playing in that position for a long time, so it was expected that they wouldn't have a good result in this game, I'm happy because as soon as I realized this change I didn't bet on that game, the odds for sporting to win the game were very low odds

I don't think I'll be wrong to say they're out of the race to win the league, especially with the really good performance from both Benfica and Porto so far.

It is clear that Sporting does not have the conditions to fight to be champions, this season they are in very bad shape. in my opinion only three teams can be in a good position to fight for the title, which are:

1 - Porto
2 - Benfica
3 - Braga (has a chance, even if it's a small chance)

Boavista FC 0 - 3 SL Benfica

We are still only on the fourth round, it is too early to say that they are out of the race. Even because almost certainly Benfica and Porto can still lose points. This has happened in the past. But without a doubt they are in a more difficult situation. They lost important players in this transfer market, and they still haven't managed to recover from this situation. I don't think anyone was expecting Sporting to lose that game, not even the Chaves fans.

The beginning of the season turned out to be difficult for Sporting, but it's too early to say anything. If in the match with Porto there was a removal and two penalties, then they should have won the match with Chaves, their advantage was very significant. It will be very difficult to compete with Porto for the title, and Benfica is starting this season very well, they need to score points in order to keep up with the leaders.

Anyone placed a bet on Sporting CP and Chaves, unfortunately i placed the match in a parlay and messed up big time as i never expected Chaves to win the match as they were a heavy underdog as they are newly promoted to the league and i thought Sporting CP would be a challenge even though Chaves won the last two matches and their winning run continues. Sporting CP controlled the majority of the match but they were not able to score a goal even with 10 shots on target  Undecided.

There are reports coming out that Cristiano Ronaldo will be joining Sporting CP, hope his frustration with Manchester United will be over if they allow him to transfer rather than holding him back.

On this week's journey, the most interesting game should be Boavista vs Benfica. Despite Benfica having a better team, Boavista usually doesn't make it easy. In addition, Benfica played for the qualification of the Champions League (which they won) and therefore may not have all the players at 100%.

As expected, Benfica won 3-0 against Boavista, in a match on the fourth round. The goals were scored by Brazilian central defender Morato, at 30 minutes, and by Portuguese midfielder João Mário, at 67 and 82. So Benfica remains 100% victorious this season.

Have you already choose your favorite to win this season?

Well, here my favorite is always SL Benfica!  Roll Eyes

I'm curious why nobody already posted about the portuguese league
You could help us to find good bets since you live in Portugal and have more information and feeling about the matches

About Liga Portugal, some tips I can say:
- The biggest clubs are: Benfica, Porto and Sporting
- The main candidates for the title: Porto and Benfica (Sporting is still too early to know will be a candidate)
- The fourth biggest club is Braga, who always play very good games, especially in the first part of the season. It is the club that gives the big three the most difficulties.
- Vitória SC, also known as Vitória de Guimarães, is one of the most historic clubs in this league, which is always expected to be in the top 5.
- Estoril Praia is a club that has been in the League for several seasons and usually plays good games, a club to be in the middle of the table, and that manages to draw with the big ones.
- FC Paços Ferreira is an average club, but they also tend to play good games and cause difficulties for big clubs.
- In Liga Portugal, the smaller clubs tend to play in a counter-attack style, betting on always having many players on the defensive lines. This sometimes makes it difficult for big clubs to score goals.
- - Boavista is also a historic club, and usually presents a tough/aggressive game, very physical, which sometimes complicates the game of the more technical teams (like the big teams)

To bet on Liga Portugal, since it is one of the most renowned in Europe, I believe that most bookmakers have the possibility to bet on these games.

Maybe the Liga Portugal doesn't attract the attention of most people as much as the biggest leagues like the EPL. But I love to follow the nice competition between Porto, Sporting and Benfica here. This league doesn't have so many qualified teams which is a minus for it. But at least the championship race is exciting.

There was a significant change in Benfica's performance from the 20/21 season to 21/22. Porto and Sporting left them way behind in the standings. The league has been under the dominance of Porto - Sporting duo for three seasons. However this season might be different. Considering the first three matches, I see a stronger Benfica while Sporting are struggling. Sporting had two difficult matches against Porto and Braga of course but they should still have done better than getting only one point in total.

Portuguese league is important, 2 slots to champions league and 1 slot to qualifies
Unfortunately the last champion was in 2003/2004 with Porto (I remember, with Deco, a brazilian born but naturalized in Portugal)

Thanks for making this thread, I was looking for it. Today there was main game of season so far - Porto - Sporting. Porto were leading 1:0 when decisive moment happened on 75th minute. Pedro Porro did Suarez by stopping ball from goal with his hand. He got red card and penalty were given. Porto managed to score it and few minutes later they did score 3:0.
As I understand, Benfica skip this round because of Champions League qualifier.

Porto was more efficient in the attacks they made, and that's why they won. Although I think Sporting played better. But the Porto goalkeeper was also defending everything, this one really well. Sporting is now 5 points behind rivel Porto, but the season is long and all the big players will still lose points.

This journey is postponed for Benfica, so they can focus on the game in the Champions League. Then for the next week, they will have the game missing.
