It was the Bitcointalk forum that inspired us to create Bitcointalksearch.org - Bitcointalk is an excellent site that should be the default page for anybody dealing in cryptocurrency, since it is a virtual gold-mine of data. However, our experience and user feedback led us create our site; Bitcointalk's search is slow, and difficult to get the results you need, because you need to log in first to find anything useful - furthermore, there are rate limiters for their search functionality.
The aim of our project is to create a faster website that yields more results and faster without having to create an account and eliminate the need to log in - your personal data, therefore, will never be in jeopardy since we are not asking for any of your data and you don't need to provide them to use our site with all of its capabilities.
We created this website with the sole purpose of users being able to search quickly and efficiently in the field of cryptocurrency so they will have access to the latest and most accurate information and thereby assisting the crypto-community at large.

I get your drift. However, I do think the thread in quote is still relevant without any ambivalence. The Chinese are still a talking point given the goings on in the global space right now. They're truly "f**king" the world with the virus. No disrespect meant. Off course, freedom of speech. However, the purpose of this idea to lockdown the threads which has got enough comments, and ideally people are going to say same thing about it over and over again which has been said already in that thread. Now how many times one shall go through that thread and read f**k, lolz., its useless. I will keep updating with my perspective, if mods like it then no issues, if they doesn't then also its fine. Mod's have already locked it. So happy about it.

Reports updated as per changes. Some more threads have been reported to mods. What is going on currently !
Latest updates. Replying for the thread visibility. The BitcoinTalk forum as it grows; seems to have more and more newbie's / bumpers around it. This is causing oldest posts to get an attention for no reason. Since, it is out of our control where one can post; we can at least look for the locking of such posts immediately which are getting commented even when they are from few years ago and are useless in the current situation. Just report those posts whenever you see some bump posts on very old thread(s). I'm sure mods will eventually take an action for that. This might be the best answer to it. It seems like you are saying that Moderators can't do their job properly so you're here to remind them of your "IDEA". It must not be deleted, it should be off limits I Guess.
The incidence of dead threads being necrobumped with a useful contribution or a genuine question is very low. When it does happen, it usually happens on boards such as Technical Discussion or Technical Support, where a user has encountered a similar bug/problem/issue that has been discussed previously. In these cases, necrobumping a thread is often preferable to starting a new thread, as it allows the previous answers or solutions to be read by all parties and built upon, rather than requiring all the basics to be rehashed before attempting to solve the problem in question.
This very rarely happens on boards such as Bitcoin Discussion, though. Firstly, many new topics created there are not topics with a right or wrong answer or a problem to be solved, but are instead "open topics" where everyone can have an opinion, regardless of how stupid or spammy that opinion is. Topics like this lend themselves well to being necrobumped by spammers, as they don't need to waste time reading any of the preceding comments - they can just churn out a simple one line nonsense in response to OP. Secondly, because there are so many spammers on that board, any necrobumped topic rapidly fills up with more spam, and often masks the fact it has been necrobumped at all. I think there is an argument to be made for locking quite a few more topics on boards like Bitcoin Discussion than we currently lock, but I'm not sure a topic like this is necessary. Usually when I report necrobumped threads the reports are acted upon fairly rapidly. I would encourage OP to simply report all the threads he has listed. May be such threads can be continued with new one? Yeah when we want to reply a old post we always encounter this warning message : Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days. Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic. Bumping old post it's okay if that's post is useful and relation about the topic or that's old thread get attention in this current situation. I think it's better if we bump a old thread than make a new one with same meaning/question of the old thread. We will see 2 or many thread with similar case if all of old thread in this forum is locked May be such threads can be continued with new one? my point is that they should be viewed as a case by case basis not generalized to lock up anything that is outdated. most of the times if the subject is worth discussing it should be continued in a new topic but in some cases there can be a topic that shows up in search and has wrong information or some ambiguity,... i don't see any problem with bumping that with additional information. Okay. I will try to re-visit the structure of my initiative. May be categorisation into some good posts from the past and posts that are not useful anymore. An idea can be brought to life, meanwhile i will keep adding with current structure. Thank you. Quote Posts that are outdated / Needs to be locked up you can't generalize this though, not to mention that "posts" don't really become outdated. of course there are obvious cases with obvious questions that were made to receive spam but sometimes the topic could still valid after years specially when they are listed on search engines such as google when searching for a subject as the top result. There are some posts which are useless and no one knows why they even do exists in the first place. Let's just hope in the long run it will clear the bad air. It's why the "Report to Moderator" button is there on every post or reply. When you see such kind of bumping behavior, just report them for necro-bumping and trust me, mods won't disappoint you. If they are bumping the old posts because of signature campaigns, the culprits will eventually realize that what they are doing is a waste o time as their post count will always be cut down. Locking every old topic doesn't really cut it If someone would have used it already then those topic should have been locked already. May be people are carless to report it. That's why I believe this initiative will at-least contribute better than "Report to moderator" button. Thanks for the input though. Hello OP, You had a good plan but your plan and your work will be better if you spend a bit more time to include topic titles for your spotted topics. Maybe it is just me, but personally I don't like to click on link to visit all those topics. In contrast, if you include topic titles, I can quickly have a good overview on how good or bad one topic is. Shit topics mostly are written and named with shit topic titles. How to add topic titles. It is so simple. Use url block and add topic title inside the block. Code: topictitle For example: This topic.Posts that are outdated / Needs to be locked up Code: Posts that are outdated / Needs to be locked up I will surely take your suggestion in mind and will see how I can improve it further. Will be modifying the framework until it becomes friendly. It's why the "Report to Moderator" button is there on every post or reply. I've seen some necroposters not wearing any sigs or profile texts, most probably they just wanna rank up. True. It's why the "Report to Moderator" button is there on every post or reply. As we can think these posts are being commented on purpose (sigs, bounties posting, newbies unaware, etc.). To overcome at least viral posts I believe we can help out mod's to look after this thread and take the necessary action. It is completely fine if such attention is not needed, guidance would be welcomed. Note : I am only calling for the Posts which have been recently commented on and are history by this time!! **Focusing on the boards which are majorly bumped for posting counts.
