The coin alone is hard as hell to mine say to get any good amount with just one gpu. 1gpu say 642 khash gets you about 200 coins or less (mostly less) so why people mine and dump makes no sense.

I agree POS should be incorporated.  I feel we should go 100% POS and halve the coin at the same time.  Get these dumping miners out of the coin totally.  If we don't do that, we should at minimum halve it and raise the difficulty to where the amount of time it takes to grow Pot you will get the same amount of POT when you mine it.

So potcoin will take about another year to mine out at 420,000,000/40/420.

I really believe that had POS been popular when this was launched that it definitely would have gone that route.

To be completely and totally honest with this opinion I'll also state that I don't really hold any significant amount of POT anymore.

That said, dogecoin should be a lesson learned for this potcoin devs. Dogecoin has by far and away the largest community and because of the multipools mine/dump etc the price will never be stable until it is all mined out, which technically is never but with the tiny block reward it is unlikely to be worthwhile.

Blackcoin should also be the same lesson as we'll all learn within a month or two. Going POS without a wide enough distribution may result in scarcity driving price but may also result in a lack of interest and a lack of new miners or investors or most importantly... those who are both.

TLDR the devs should look at the wallet distributions and consider moving to a mixed POS for this coin and greatly lowering the block reward.

You want the value of the coins to be in the wallets of the coin holders, not subject to the whims of the multipools.

Every scrypt coin goes through this. If we change algorithms we will just got through it again when asics hit that algorithm too.

I do like the idea of transitioning to a POS system though, especially as we approach the 420 Million coin limit. I think that could be a major selling point to merchants looking to accept the coin. They don't necessarily want to cash Potcoin out for USD or Bitcoin in a POS system. They could increase their coin's value by holding it until its ready to be spent, much like interest on a Corporate bank account. That could be appealing to a lot of merchants.

PotCoin price is the problem.  Someone or group is dumping hitting the bid hard keeping the price down.  We need several funds or big investors to step in and buy these coins up.  They are so cheap right now.

The multipool(s) are selling their mined coins daily or every few days. That's what you are seeing in the market that looks like somebody trying to keep the price down.

Those multipools don't just auto exchange them for BTC they usually wait for a rise in the price before they sell them all off. Its going to keep the price of Potcoin down for awhile. Don't expect 3k satoshi again any time soon.

This coin, POTcoin, has hedge funds or big backers written all over it.  I had the same feeling about Doge which I still think it's a hedge fund coin, maybe an experimental [fine tune the media machine] coin.

Anyway, if I'm right then POT will really start getting a massive media BLITZ  soon so I for one am hoping to buy some coins and hold for a while to see if my theory is correct.

Good luck!

First post has markup/typo errors that are causing invalid links to wallet downloads and block explorer etc. Not very encouraging for newcomers.

The first post is important, spend a little time to double check your edits.

Anybody know where the devs are getting the funding to launch ATMs?

I'm impressed with the proactive developments of this crew.

Very nice. Very encouraging.

And what exactly is this new contract they supposedly just signed?

Some details would really go a long way, guys.  This is looking very professional, I hope it's not another #ZETscam.
I know a while back they secured a $100000 investment.  I think it was in feb.  Not sure if they received any other investments.  They are the best and most proactive devs I've ever seen. Can not wait to see where this goes!

Wow, I had no idea although I immediately had a hunch they had real backing.

Is there a link or any info for this?  I'm curious who their backers are.  This coin could really explode to the up-side if there is just one major contract signed.

Would be nice if the devs gave us some solid info about their backers and funding.

We support you for as long as you need.
Thanks, truly appreciate it.  We will be having a customer appreciation sweepstakes here soon.  Which as of now here is how we have it setup.
$5 you get one Chillum (Gives 1 entry to sweepstakes)
$20 gets 2 Chillums and a clear pipe (5 entries)
$25 get 2 chillums and a color pipe (10 entries)
$50 gets 5 chillums w a clear pipe and color pipe (25 entries)
$100 gets you 10 chillums with a color pipe, clear pipe and color bubbler (50 entries)

And we will have 4 customer appreciation prizes (The translucent bubbler as you saw will be grand prize, a $75 opal marble spoon with built in screen for second, a custom axe style chillum for 3rd and a pint glass for 4th)

How many would be interested if we did this?  Just trying ot get our name out there now that us and our new partner have just teamed up!  And we will accept regular fiat, credit card, paypal, potcoin amongst others....thanks!

If you take Potcoin I'm definitely in  Grin

We did want to add y'all, my partners and I figured that it may be a good thing for the communities and to help with our name!  Besides this customer appreciation sweepstakes we feel with the pricing set the  way it is, makes it so that even if you loose, you still win!  But having 4 prizes should make it a little more fun!

Thanks for the comments!  but yes if y'all want we will accept potcoin for our items and our entry sweepstakes!

and the fued bewteen you and some of the dope members wont blow over here i trust?  Wink its obviously a good thing to have you guys accepting potcoin and from what i have seen you are pretty active! just a pitty you state side else id be buying Sad

That's why we weren't hiding anything in our post....we were approached and with open arms welcomed by the Dopecoin community.  If Potcoin has things that they would like then all it takes is members to put together ideas/events or what have you and contact us requesting details.

Obviously with us coming here, we are not stating a side.  The only side we have recently accepted is CRYPTOCURRENCIES side.  Which personally we think the battle is stupid, and what does a battle do for the crypto community, except show others that "this is why governments should control currencies.  Because individuals can't handle it as you can see with stupid arguments for currencies on the same team".

So just as we accept Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogecoin, I don't feel that any other currencies should effect your decision either.  We will actually be using Coinpayments.net for our accepting of multiple currencies, allowing any of your other friends that are into cryptos to participate as well.

As well as Paypal, and Visa/Mastercard over the phone if not through paypal.  For those of you who don't know our initial glass business, it is a family business that I do with my girl for selling custom etched drinkware (pint/shot/wine/martini glasses, beer mugs, champagne flutes, display mirrors, etc!)  We were initially known in this community for our site www.bitcoindirect.net which was dedicated to Bitcoin.

We are now working on a fully functional site, but you can check our other products here https://www.etsy.com/shop/pixskull.

Now we have partnered up with our very good friend and his glass blowing team to offer custom blown glass, which we will be adding other products soon such as wedding cake toppers, glass flasks, ecig glass tips, etc!

Thanks and hopefully we will make a good addition.
