Pep Guardiola says that the motivation for winning another Premier League title is not there yet...

https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1ev5hfb/pep_guardiola_the_motivation_to_win_another/

Maybe he has got bored after winning the league title every season.  Tongue  Jokes aside, he says this but I don't doubt Manchester City even a bit. They would be in the title race for sure as usual. There is a system running like clockwork and it is really not easy to break it. I see only Arsenal which have a chance to perform this task. So far they have tried twice and failed. But there was progress last season. I'm curious about this season a lot.  Smiley
Pep Guardiola is like that, he likes to joke but he is a hard worker who rarely underestimates others. He is aware that it is difficult to win the Premier League in 5 consecutive seasons, but his current record is winning 4 Premier League titles in a row. I applaud Pep Guardiola's leadership style at Manchester City and I hope Manchester United can really provide the best competition this season.

Never give up, that's what I have to say. Manchester United must perform better season after season, but so far I still have doubts about glory ever returning. It's not good to have too high expectations for Manchester United this season, but I have confidence that the team's performance will be better than last season.

Man City - Ipswich
Aston Villa - Arsenal

Without a doubt I would choose to bet on over 3.25 with odds of 1.60 because I believe Ipswich is just a weak club that Man City will take advantage of to seize the first position in the points table and on the other hand some of Ipswich's key players are injured which makes it easier for Man City to score big.

But I'm a little hesitant to bet on Arsenal's match and haven't found the best betting option.
Arsenal did manage to get 3 points when they played against Wolves but when Arsenal played at home, while Aston Villa was able to beat West Ham when they played away.
This means Aston Villa cannot be underestimated and I had time to think whether betting on over 2.5 was the right choice.

Manchester City managed to destroy Chelsea with a landslide score of 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in the previous match, while Ipswich Town was also destroyed by Liverpool at Anfield Stadium with a score of 2-0, so from the results of the previous match we can see that Ipswich Town very small hope to win that's match, facing the defending champions is of course not an easy thing for Ipswich Town to face in match so it would be better for us to bet on Manchester City winning in that the match, although holding Manchester City win will only get us a small money refund but I think it's better than holding Ipswich Town who clearly have no hope of winning against Manchester City.

Arsenal match against Aston Villa will be a match that is difficult to predict, but in my opinion Aston Villa has a better chance of winning the match or at least getting 1 point from Arsenal, maybe before Aston Villa is coached by Unai Emery of course we will not hesitate to bet for Arsenal won, but since Unai Emery coached them it is clear that Aston Villa can no longer be underestimated at this time, and if you remember the previous two seasons of ocourse we can see if Aston Villa was actually the team  has thwarted Arsenal chance of winning the Premier League.

^ I believe Man City will have a field day at the Etihad this week against Ipswich. Ipswich is a newly promoted team with a lot of their players new to the premier league. City has an amazing attack, led by the monster Haaland. What a player, innit.

We saw Ipswich struggling against Liverpool in the second half, after battling a good first half. They have some loopholes in their game, and once that gets caught, they are not so good. This is something Pep is good at, catching teams in their weak spots. I think Ipswich is in trouble.

Aston Villa vs Arsenal will be a delightful game, but Arsenal playing away is definitely a concern for the Gunners. We saw how good Villa can be at home, and after the great display in the preseason, and also the opener against West Ham, they look solid. I am expecting a tight game with Arsenal just clinching the win.

This is the first matchday of the EPL. Some teams have shown optimistic results and some teams have performed poorly despite being the favorites. However, this is the first match and we will not be able to judge the team's performance for the next season just from this match. Chelsea has got a new manager and I think the club management has a target for the new coach. Hopefully Chelsea can improve their ranking. City appeared very dominant with their victory over Chelsea. Arsenal also won without conceding a goal. The first position now is Brighton because they managed to beat Everton 3-0. There will be many changes after the second matchday is over.

Chelsea can also do well if they improve on their performance with the new manager they got. What we expect from the club is a serious improvement from their last performance. We want to see the effect of the new coach on the team especially that they didn't do well in the last season. Starting off the season with a lost in their first game doesn't speak well of the team and is a signal that they need to do more. I'm more worried about Chelsea than any other A list team now because they just invested in a new manager and the expectations are high already.

For me, I think Manchester City will be winning the Premier League this season. I don’t think Arsenal will be able to provide the challenge that they did last season against Manchester City. Liverpool also got a new manager and he has a lot to prove and he did pretty well in his first match in the Premier League as the manager. But I don’t think he has settled yet, so he is going to require more time. He might be a challenge for Manchester City but I think Manchester City can deal with him.

One of the teams that I think can be a problem for Manchester City is Manchester United. I know they have barely won their first match of the season. But their defense is looking very good. They got reinforcements in all areas, they have signed De Ligt, Mazraoui, and Zirkzee. Their defense looked very solid and their attack also looked very well after Zirkzee came on the field. They need to make a few changes here and there but I think Manchester United might get something done this season.

One other team that I had hoped for is Tottenham. But after their first match, I don’t think they can achieve anything this season either.
Manchester City are the most favorite to win the league despite other clubs trying their best to strengthen their squad but I'm not leaving out Arsenal they've been runners-up for straight two seasons and their squad is currently strong enough to beat any Premier League team, it's left for Arteta to think of new strategies that would make them the most outstanding in the league this season. As for Pep he's a genius and bringing back İlkay Gündoğan is the best decision he made this season. Arne Slot really has lots to prove, he needs to show that he's capable of replacing Klopp and set a record as on of the best managers of the EPL, winning the first match is a good start but not enough since there are many matches and competitions ahead, as for Manchester United I'll not be in a haste to conclude that they'll trouble Manchester City but with the new reinforcement, they should cause they've strengthen the most important areas and are still expecting new arrivals about one or two more before the end of the transfer window, they're a team to look out for and I think Erik Ten Hag needs to prove to INEOS and the fans that he deserved the new contract he was given, I believe he's aware of that so he'll do better, some other teams I believe would do better this season are Westham and Aston Villa they could make the top 4 especially Aston Villa.

Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool have started scoring goals from the beginning of the season again and at the end of the season we will now see those who are too lazy to win a trophy, the way Arsenal and Liverpool used to take action from the beginning of the summer you will think they are the one that will win the league title, well I can’t judge them this season because they have made a good signing this season and I think those players will help them to fight for a trophy this season.
I support Manchester City in the premier league but this season I prefer Arsenal or Liverpool to win the league because if Manchester City wins the league again it means that the premier league has become a farmers' league where one team will be winning the league trophy every season, arsenal and Liverpool should prove people wrong that they are capable of fighting Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool is the only one that can do that because we all know that Manchester United and Chelsea can’t do anything in premier league again.
I think for the beginning of the season we still haven't seen the teams that will compete for the title except Manchester City and Arsenal because these two teams have had sufficient strength in the last few seasons.

And for Liverpool I think don't expect too much and don't be too excessive for them because Liverpool didn't make many changes for this season except they changed their coach and I think that's a weak point because it's certain that it will be quite difficult for the new coach to be able to improve the team's performance, especially with the fierce competition in the Premier League.

Manchester City is indeed too strong but I don't agree if the Premier League is called a farmer's league because the competition in the Premier League is very fierce even though Manchester City won the title and for this season I think Manchester City will have more difficulty than last season and I think Arsenal will be able to beat Manchester City this season after in the last two seasons Arsenal always lost at the end of the season and I think this season is the right time for Arsenal.

For me, I think Manchester City will be winning the Premier League this season. I don’t think Arsenal will be able to provide the challenge that they did last season against Manchester City. Liverpool also got a new manager and he has a lot to prove and he did pretty well in his first match in the Premier League as the manager. Don't expect much from Chelsea this season. They still have that poor strategy in transfers. Actually I'm not sure if this can be called a strategy... They are just signing everyone they can without looking at what they need.

Over 40 players in the squad... It sounds like a joke but it isn't I'm afraid.  Sad  This team doesn't deserve to be managed this poorly. I don't know how many times I have said that, but it is what it is. How is the coach going to manage all these players? How will he manage to give most of them chances not to make them unhappy?  Huh  The chairman doesn't think about it even for a minute seemingly. It can't go on like this forever.
Talking about Chelsea's transfer, I think it's obvious that the club owner is getting it all wrong with the decisions he's made so far and I think it'll probably affect the club's performance this season. Chelsea as a club needed a top 9 striker that's known for sharpness, speed and extremely agile even before the beginning of the transfer window but that they've never gotten till this very moment. Signing so many wingers when your club actually have much already isn't a good idea if you ask me but we'll wait and see what the season holds for Chelsea without concluding so early

The first League matches are just like a test of how well-prepared teams are for the season, some teams do use it as an opportunity to start their winning streak, while some teams will use the match to study the team to correct everything necessary as the season goes on.

Chelsea was unlucky to be paired with Manchester City in their first match, and they unluckily lost to the defending Champions Manchester City, it is quite unfortunate because the team looks very good even though the manager has yet to get his perfect first-team players due to a large number of players in the squad.

Arsenal on the other hand did as expected, they won their first match because they are among the favorites to win the Premier League this season ahead of City because of the effort the team has been putting in their last two seasons.

Don't expect much from Chelsea this season. They still have that poor strategy in transfers. I'm not sure if this can be called a strategy... They are just signing everyone they can without looking at what they need.

I will blame the new Chelsea owner Tod Bohely; he has high expectations for the team and he expected all that within a short period which is not proper, and he keeps signing players because they have the money to buy; now some of the players are not more useful to the team, and the management has to pay the players on weekly basis despite not playing for the team as long as they remain in the team.

I am not expecting much from them, but if Enzo Mareca can let some players go, and have consistency on the players he will be using in his first eleven, they can finish top four because they have quality players.

I don't know, friends, whether it's strategy or ambition, of course we don't know what Todd Boehly have in mind at the moment, Having 40 players in their current squad makes Chelsea the fattest team in the Premier League this season, but after this defeat it actually indicating that they only have a group of young players who have no mentality at all in the game, actually what Todd Boehly did by bringing in new players is of course a good thing but I think he should be able to bring in players who really suit the club current needs and not actually making transfers without proper consideration of the quality and experience of the players.
I admit that the young players recruited by Chelsea are talented players, but at the moment I think they are not ready to compete in the Premier League because of their experience and also minimal mentality.

Cucurella was not the only player that had a terrible game. Cole Palmer was nowhere to be found on the pitch. And Enzo…..well Enzo was not the best captain. We all saw Todd Boehly leave the stadium early during the game. It could be he left to make a call about Victor Osimhen transfer deal to Chelsea. Everybody can see that Chelsea needs a striker. Todd Boehly is likely to make some more signings.
Overall Chelsea players played badly which made Todd Boehly very disappointed, he left the Stadium early not because Chelsea lost. He is aware that it is very difficult to win against Manchester City who always maintain their best performance, but because his team lost in this way, he cannot accept it. Osimhen transfer seems to need to be made official soon, Chelsea need a reliable goal scorer to boost their performance, Enzo Maresca also has to find a solution to his team's poor performance. The result in the next game will show where Chelsea is heading this season under Maresca, if his performance continues like this, it will be very difficult for Chelsea to compete in the top four.

The case of Manchester city and Chelsea is something that everyone already know even before the game that Manchester City will continue to win Chelsea the highest Chelsea can do is to play draw and for now I don't think they have that capacity to stop us from scoring because the name Manchester City alone will scare them them so just still have a long way to go before they can even dream of winning us. From Liverpools first attempt against Ipswich Town I already know they are no match for Liverpool, they were luck the goal stopped counting at 2:0. And Manchester City is going to win Ipswich Town nothing to stop Such win and this are games that you can easy bet on and win just that the odds are usually small for the winners, if Ipswich Town could not win against Liverpool is now Manchester City they want to win.

The same Aston villa that stopped arsenal from winning the premier league last season it's going to be interesting game from this game we are going to know if arsenal as improved or not that is if they win against the villa then we know that arsenal is going to be a problem for us this season, some times you don't underestimate arsenal because you might predict Aston villa to win and later you see arsenal trashing them so anything can still happen, Aston villa to can actually not be underestimated, I will love to watch the game, their are a lot of things that will happen during that game because it is looking as if both clubs have actually improved,  arsenal winning the premier league that is what we hear every season and still end up losing.

I feel that the fixtures is not being fair with Ipswich Town. These guys are just coming from the Championship and doesn't have the experience of the English Premier League. Their first match was Liverpool and the second Manchester City. When they receive 2 defeats consecutively and with the injury news I'm hearing, they will definitely be demoralized.

This is a tough match and difficult to predict. In as much as many will say that Arsenal is the favourites to win. We shouldn't forget how good the Emry boys are now. Going for BTTS will not be a bad idea.

Cucurella better to shut up his mouth, he forget that he's not playing with Spanish teammates instead he's playing with championship level players. Haaland showed who's in front of Cucurella and his goal to Chelsea really make Cucurella can't do anything against Haaland.

It's not surprising to see Chelsea lose against Manchester City even though they're playing in their home.

Cucurella was not the only player that had a terrible game. Cole Palmer was nowhere to be found on the pitch. And Enzo…..well Enzo was not the best captain. What is clear is that Cucurella was too arrogant, he underestimated Haaland even though in fact this one striker's ability cannot be underestimated.
I think Todd Boehly left the field maybe because he was embarrassed because his club lost at that time and it must have been very painful for him Grin

Currently Chelsea already has the most players in the Premier League, why would they recruit more? even this season alone I see Chelsea has bought many players, there are already 13 players on their 2024/35 recruitment list https://www.transfermarkt.co.id/fc-chelsea/transfers/verein/631 If they want to recruit Victor Oshimen they have to sell some of their players to increase their capital to buy Oshimen from Napoli who costs more than 100 million euros, this player will be the answer for Chelsea in the striker position.

First Game week is over. It doesn’t look like teams have looked different from last season. They just continued from where they stopped last season. The newly promoted teams doesn’t look too different from the ones that got relegated.

Manchester City didn’t even look blunt. They resumed their usual routine of winning games. Arsenal and Liverpool got their first 3 points without much sweat. Manchester United struggled against Fulham side but managed to secured a narrow victory towards the end of the match. Chelsea are still trying to arrange their squad before they can compete effectively. New signings are coming in everyday and it’ll hinder their growth as they have so many players who want to play.
I don’t think Chelsea will do well this season either. They just keep on signing players without results. They have signed Mudryk, Nkunku, Lukaku and many proven players who have performed very well in other teams but when they join Chelsea they just flop.
It will be very bad if Chelsea fail their supporter this year again because they have all the resources needed to rebrand the team and make them the strong team they used to be. I am also thinking that they will not do well and my reason is their inability to sign a new attacker knowing that their attacking is not that great. Assuming they are able to bring in a high quality striker, I will be more confident in the team this season.

I don’t think Arsenal will be able to challenge Manchester City for the title like they have done in the last season. Manchester City is looking very good this season, to be honest. Liverpool has got a new manager and also got their first victory, but we have more to see from him.
This year might surprise you because I see Arsenal doing better than expected. If you watched their last match against Wolves, you will see that they have a team that can challenge any other team in the Premiership this season. They have a fine blend of the old and young players with a good coach in the person of Arteta.

Last year they did not fail their supporters at Etihad. It was a draw game both at Etihad and Stamford bridge. I just knew this season is going to be different and that Manchester City will win against Chelsea twice they will play. Chelsea will preform better this year but there are a few clubs that are exemptions. Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool are the clubs that i am certain that Chelsea wont be able to win them this season.

If there are any other season i am to believe in Arsenal then it is this season. With the look of things they are more than prepared, i have watched their game and see how they tend to see how they can substitute some players to reserve their energy for the next game.

If they keep playing like in the match against Man City, they probably will finish the season out of the top 10. Chelsea signed many players but they don't know how to optimize the potential of those players. They don't even know what the priority should be fixed soon. Chelsea management think they will perform better if they keep buying new players as many as possible. This is actually the wrong way! Chelsea forget that to be a solid team, the need time to play together. They rebuild the team with too many new players (mostly young players), they don't consider the team balance with old players.

Cucurella was not the only player that had a terrible game. Cole Palmer was nowhere to be found on the pitch. And Enzo…..well Enzo was not the best captain.
Those players may play underperformance because they played not in their best position. Palmer and Nkunku played as wingers, meanwhile Enzo played as an attacking midfielder. I don't understand with the tactic of Maresca, this is too speculative when they played against a big team like Man City. I think Maresca needs to learn that he is better to put every player in their best position. Regarding Cucurella, I have no idea about him. He is a big mouth but he has no quality in the field.  Cheesy

If you watched their last match against Wolves, you will see that they have a team that can challenge any other team in the Premiership this season. They have a fine blend of the old and young players with a good coach in the person of Arteta.
