I have a slightly different idea, Haaland is not the key factor that helped Man City win the championship. Erling Haaland is a small player in a big match, he always fails in the final. Typically, the 2024 FA Cup final, lost 1-2 to Mu. When not scoring or assisting, Haaland played the entire match and did not create any chances for his teammates. And Haaland is also considered one of the reasons why Man City stopped playing in Europe's most prestigious playground. In the quarterfinals of the Champions League, Man City lost to Real Madrid. Haaland's lackluster partly caused Man City to fail. Actually, Haaland always disappears in important moments.

However, few people can match Haaland's scoring record each season. Won the title of top scorer in the Premier League for 2 consecutive years.
Since Erling’s early days of football at Dortmund and his boyhood club, you will understand how prolific of a striker he will become. Now at Man City, he has been consistently scoring and taking his chances real good and that now makes him to be placed among the prolific strikers that have graced the game of football. Now the problem you can say is with the style of his play, for Haaland he just stays up front and wait for the midfielders to do the job of getting the ball and bringing it to him and that, he hits the goal.

This style of play is always of disadvantage to most style of play, especially a style that involves the whole team participating, this leaves him up idle and most times the team suffers it because they are playing with a man down while defending and progressing with the ball. In so many matches we have seen how he has gone ghosting and you don’t expect that from a prolific striker like Erling. In the FA Cup final against Man United and Quarterfinal against Madrid.

You can see how Man City were playing most times without him and that goes to show the need for a ball playing striker that can progress with the ball. Haaland being compared to great legends of the EPL, means that Haaland will have huge work to do especially in terms of ball playing with the team because that could be the only thing lacking in his style of play to bring him to same level with other EPL legends.

But discussions of him being absent during big games, how do you judge this? Especially against Real Madrid and Finals. I think he hasn't been able to score during the last four to five finals he has played for Manchester City.

Haaland is indeed a beast in EPL games but he needs to clutch those important games of UCL , right ?

You are both right about that of course. I must have also criticized Haaland's being inadequate in performance in big games who knows how many times.  Smiley  But the reason why is actually obvious to me.

Because he doesn't have a character like helping the team at the back and carrying the ball to the danger zone. He is mostly waiting to be fed by wingers or midfielders. When these positions have difficulties in big games we see Haaland mostly struggling and not even touching the ball properly. I think he needs to improve his side there to be a more active striker.

What's with Eddie Howe? Second season no trophies and no body has said shit about him.

I'm surprised about his still maintaining his job. Especially after Newcastle was bought by rich people I thought they would replace him with a well-known manager. But there is no such action yet.

I feel like premier league is a situation that is going to be quite tough, and I do not think that we are going to see that much change, it doesn't feel like we are going to end up with anything that will benefit everyone if we keep having same type of players. We need to have some dynamic changes, sometimes you get a giant like Haaland, sometimes you get technique of Suarez. It is not really that much of a situation that could be all that easy to handle at all times.

We shouldn't really consider that as something that will benefit everyone, it is going to be quite tough. This is why I think it is going to be some team that has different style players that will eventually win the league for another team eventually, makes a lot more sense to make the "anti" version.

In as much that the Norwegian is always converting chances, he finds it difficult to create chances or fall back to collect ball when the opposing team seem to difficult to break. Erling Haaland is always waiting for already made passes so he can convert. The manner at which he controls ball in his feet isn't great enough for a striker of his calibre. Always running out of ideas on how to dribble past defenders.
Erling Haaland is lucky to play in a team that has great capability of creating chances. Guardiola really makes Haaland a scoring goals machine by setting up a team in favor of the prolific striker. The physical predominancy of Haaland is also a big help for him to play in Premier League and stay productive. He is just a horror for any defender in Premier League.
No man, you're wrong if you called him lucky enough to play in the manchester city. Manchester city who needs him. It was totally wrong caused by it was not caused by haaland's lucky. This is the same like said haaland joined in city caused by it has no skill but caused by luck.
This is why i called it if it's totally wrong my friend. It's like that. Haaland targeted by so many clubs caused by they knew that how good he is. Im sure that if calling it by his luck is very wrong these days.

His instinct of scoring goals is always hungry and sharp. His off-ball movements has become a magnet for his teammates to make passes. This kind of striker in this kind of team will be difficult to stop, he will always be a big threat for any defense line of any team. Stopping him means stopping his teammates making passes to him, no other solution of stopping him.
It saddens me that how haaland's performance was declining last season. I was expecting more from him last season but he could not deliver it. Haaland needs to be even more active in getting the right position. Pep will not always able to only let him stand and wait for the ball.
He must tell him try to get a better positioning in order to leave from the trap created by his opponents. Im hoping haaland's performance is getting better in the upcoming season. He can scored more than what he did on his first season in manchester city.

Haaland did a great job to make Manchester City win a title.

He is doing a good job like scoring goals. Also his shirt is a very nice blue and he kind of looks like a big baby a little bit. lol

He is an enrichment for Premier League!
What do you think?

Players like this make the EPL what it is today. The EPL is known as a league that constantly attracts the top talents in the world to the league. Haaland is a beauty to watch and despite the fact that I'm not a city fan, I enjoy watching him play. As a matter of fact, he was my talisman in the fantasy premier league. Strikers like Haaland have been absent in the premier league for a long time, the last prolific striker I knew was Suarez at Liverpool, then Kane and now Haaland. Not sure anyone else comes close.
The English Premier League have experienced so many great strikers in football history and despite Erling Haaland's prolificity, he's still miles away to catch up with the highest scoring strikers in the competition's history. Erling Haaland without doubt is very clinical and always converting his chances which is why he's always been celebrated as one of the best strikers in modern football but if I were to be a manager, I'll definitely not use a striker like Haaland in my team.

Haaland is a blessing for Manchester City obviously.  Smiley  The squad is wonderful as a whole of course. But Haaland was like the missing piece of the puzzle and after him they are much stronger. Haaland is a goal machine before anything else. He was a little more normal this season though.  Tongue  But he still scored 27 goals in the Premier League.
Indeed. Haaland has a big role in Man City team now. He is their real machine goal, he always contributed with many goals in every season. Even if Man City also has Julián Álvarez as another machine goal, Haaland's role is still irreplaceable now. As long as Man City has good midfielders, Haaland will be always contributing with many goals. Haaland can score many goals if Man City has bad midfielders. We know there must be midfielders who have great accuracy in delivering assists.

Like I said on some other thread, Haaland has a release clause at the same time. It is said to be worth 175 million pounds. Guardiola has worries about the situation so he wants Haaland's future at Manchester City to be secured. Let's see how things go but I believe he is staying now.
The market value will be increasing gradually if Haaland always performs well in each season. His market value us €180m now, it will be above €200m soon. He is still young and has a long career in the future. Man City is very lucky that they can sign Haaland from Dortmund. He is a typical striker who has complete abilities. So, Man City will always try to keep him. And since Haaland experienced great seasons in Man City, no doubt that he will stay for a longer season. He has a long contract period, it is until June 30, 2027.

Guardiolla said Haaland is happy at Man City, he has no reason to leave.  Wink

Yes, he is taking the helm at Chelsea from now on. It was an unexpected kind of move for most people as far as I can see. Because Chelsea has been mostly going for coaches with an impressive career.

We have seen big names managing this team very often. But in the recent years they also joined the current trend. They want to try different coaches than the usual. They tried Potter and Lampard but they couldn't get the result they expected. After Pochettino they want to rejoin this trend. However Boehly should know that it is better to be patient to get results. The first season might not be great, everyone isn't Xabi Alonso.  Tongue

Pochettino was a fairly good coach only that he needed more time to build that understanding he required from the management team and probably since he left the PSG, and returned back to the Premier League again. I also feel he's a big coach and a lot of people expected big results from him but his performance with Chelsea can be rated average or a bit below for someone has been as him. His performance and that of Eric Ten Hag is not far-fetched from each other.

Now that Chelsea have decided to part ways with him, he should just take a break and restrategize. What I've understood with most of these managers especially for Pochettino is, whilst he's a celebrated manager of his own rights, he would still go on to have issues with his management teams like he had with Paul Winstanly and Lawrence Stewart who are both two sporting and recruitment directors employed by the team owner to give support. All these little disagreements are nothing but distractions to some of these professional managers.

What exactly telly you that he is a fairly good coach? He had billions at his disposal and yet couldn't achieve a lot as a coach. The biggest and respectable achievement he had was with Tottenham when he unexpectedly made it into the Champions League final. But other than that there is nothing I would call a good performance. With PSG it was really bad. He turned a billion dollar team into something negative that I thought wouldn't even be possible. Far off, I think. But rest assured he will get more high profile jobs in his career as the pool of coaches is shrinking at the moment. As soon as they made it to a top team, coaches can be sure there will be more top teams down the road to sign them again no matter what their achievements are.

I agree, as I never had a good idea of who was going to take that job after seeing that Chelsea's management are completely poor with whenever they call long term plans and having patience.
It's a good time to see him appointed as the manager because he will have enough time to know these players and work well with them during pre-season.
He had a good knowledge of the Premier League Competition after working with Pep Guardiola before moving to Leicester City in the Championship. I'm certain he will achieve success.

Graham Potter to Chelsea was a wrong move from day one, we all know he was not a top four club coach in the Premier League Competition, as we saw him having ten position as his best season, season after seasons. Frank Lampard was the most tiring of them all. He will need depth because they're in the European Conference League Competition now.
With the way Chelsea keep letting go of their coach you will understand how much the club are struggling to keep up with long term project, rather they are trying to build up a team for future purposes. With Enzo now at the helms of affair, you can have some sort of confidence because of him being under Pep and also with his success at Leicester City, now that means to an extent he’s built his stand on English football.

Now he’s got the preseason period to be able to build his team and with the pressure on him, he should try hard not to make much mistakes in his choice of squad selection. I think with him being rooted in the Epl, he will to an extent have some level of success in the club. With how bad Chelsea has changed managers, you can say that at this point, they are struggling to keep up with having the right manager for the club.

Now at this point, you can see how they tried to manage with the likes of Potter and Lampard and that alone tells how much they have struggled to keep up. Enzo will have plenty of work to do and that should start with him trying to build up a great squad because they’re going to participate in the UECL and also the FIFA Club World Cup which means plenty of matches for the team. Also they have a very young squad and managing them to attain their best is pretty crucial at this point.

I also don't see Haaland staying at City for the rest of his career and Bayern Munchen will try to get him at some point for sure. He is destined to be there at some point.

He is although useless with chances created for him to score. I'm expecting Manchester city to make plans for a new set of midfielder's since Kevin De Bruyne and Bernado Silva are both linked to leave the club Manchester United immediately they're done with the European Competitions coming up this month in the next couple weeks.

Erling Haaland will not be leaving, and if he is to leave, who will bw able to fund such a player? Not even Barcelona at the moment who I think would have been the right destination for the lad.

His ability to score goals so far makes him very worthy of being called a monster, Haaland who came from Dortmund at a fairly high price is certainly a smart purchase from Manchester City and even at the beginning of his arrival last season, Haaland immediately managed to meet Manchester City expectations by becoming the league top scorer with 37 goals, Haalaand seems to have managed to make the Premier League look easy for him for scorer goal,  Haalaand has now managed to be the right replacement after Manchester City lost Aguero and this season the number of Haaland goals is not as many as last season but in fact he is still able to be the top scorer and  competete with players who have been in the Premier League for a long time.

Haaland currently has a market value of 187 million euros, for a rich team of course the price is nothing compared to his ability to score goals, although indeed the release clause owned by Haaland is very small but I think it will not be easy to get Haaland from Manchester City because indeed he still wants to continue his adventure in the Premier League at this time.

Now Enzo Maresca is the new hope for Chelsea, but if it recurs and doesn't work out according to Todd Boehly's expectations, so it is not surprising that Enzo Maresca will have the same fate as Mauricio Pochettino.

Haaland did a great job to make Manchester City win a title.
Haaland didn't make Manchester city to win a title, rather it was Manchester city that made Haaland to win a title. Manchester city is used to winning titles while Haaland wasn't used to winning titles until he joined Manchester city.
Exactly Haaland is not a key component for Manchester City’s success this season, even without him, Manchester City will win the league because he was not the my important player in the squad.
Last season, I will agree with @Rebekker that Manchester City’s success depends on Haaland goals because he was the main man in the squad that score the most important hold that determine their success in their last season’s Premier League championship.
Haaland is one of Manchester City's most important players and is generally regarded as the main striker. When the opposition team takes the field against Manchester City, the opposition team will always try to stop the Manchester City attacker who is there, so if two or three defenders are behind him at all times, they will. When the opposing team makes all preparations to stop a team's main striker, the manager of this team makes plans with the other players available. This is because when the opposing team's defenders block their main striker, another player will score at that opportunity.  Haaland is really a very strong player because he does his job properly no matter how much he is hindered, which is why Manchester City rely on him so much.

He would not be winning a golden boot if manchester city was not winning EPL again. The bad thing is haaland's total goals scored this season is still less compared to the last season. This is why im feeling disappointed with his performance caused by it was far from my expectation.
Haaland's performance last season wasn’t really good compared to other seasons, he wasn’t able to score many goals last season. Most defenders already understand how to attack Haaland, so he is not always given much space in matches. Things got worse for Haaland when De Bruyne went on injury, he is the one that’s always giving Haaland assistance in most matches. Seriously, I wasn’t also impressed with Haaland's performance last season, I expect more from him.

Haaland is a beast striker but his consistency is still remain the main problem at this moment. I don't know what things that make him struggle in EPL but he needs to improve it asap.
In most matches, Haaland is not always given much space. If you notice, in some matches, Haaland is being attacked by two or three defenders, so it’s always difficult for Haaland to beat them. In some matches, you won’t even know that Haaland is on pitch because he is not always given any opportunity.

The majority of EPL managers are becoming increasingly accustomed with how to counter Haaland by putting extra backs on the bottom line to lock his movement., this has been implemented by several strikers who were successfully blocking his mivement. This makes haaland feels more difficult to get into the free space and getting even closer to the penalty box. I meant Guardiola rarely changed his plan like try to put two or more strikers at front, such as adding more attackers to ensure Haaland wasn't alone there. This is Pep's biggest problem and he must able to find a solution for this problem.

He was too often employing a single attacker tactic and this is burdening haaland. This also causes its opponents to constantly deploy additional backs on the bottom line in try to prevent Haaland from scoring. This is undoubtedly a significant concern for Haaland.

Haaland must play even more attractively in the future season considering his oppoentn will be very familiar to him and about how to see him scored. He was quick but lack of positioning last season unlike the previous season when haaland scored more than last season. Halaand also has enough physical power to go one on one with the opponent's defender. Pep must ensure that he is able to present other strategies.
Putting Haaland as the sole striker is not always effective considering the fact that if haaland was often missing the ball. I understand that I can occasionally be used as a ploy by the city to outperform its opponents but Haaland is becoming even less productive than the previous season and this is bad for him, pep must think a proper soltuion for haaland's problem. Haaland's productivity may be even less than this time if he will not able to find the solution for this problem.
