Cucurella better to shut up his mouth, he forget that he's not playing with Spanish teammates instead he's playing with championship level players. Haaland showed who's in front of Cucurella and his goal to Chelsea really make Cucurella can't do anything against Haaland.

It's not surprising to see Chelsea lose against Manchester City even though they're playing in their home.

There are players who doesn't find it professional enough to banter words with their fellow players but will go any length to respond whoever says ills things about them on the media by teaching them a deep lesson on the pitch and if you ask me, I think Erling Haaland falls in that category. Cucurella without doubt had a very impressive performance with the Spain national team during their campaign in the summer European Championship of which they won but taunting Haaland in his post trophy celebration party was unexpected of him and that's why the Norwegian striker decided to do his own talking on the pitch yesterday. Cucurella did his best in Chelsea's game against Manchester City yesterday nu Haaland the better of him

GOAL says that Leicester is likely to have two point deduction punishments because of allegedly breaching spending rules.

While smaller teams are receiving penalties for breaches as it has to be, big teams aren't treated the same. Manchester City has numerous breaches in the Premier League so far. It must be like 115 charges against them.

I hope this injustice comes to an end this November when their case is going to be at bar. People are making memes out of it but this has really become a serious problem. It isn't fair against other teams.  Sad

Yeahz! I cannot forget how Leicester City and Everton weren't left out. They deducted mandatory points from them which they also used as motivation during most of the game last season. I'm so proud of Sean Dyche for what he has done for the club Everton but this is the season I'm expecting them relegated. I hope they fight like hell. Same way they did last season.

Manchester City shouldn't be exempted and I'm in full support of all you have said above truthfully. I don't wish failure on City but, if they're found to have breached all these rules, we don't want them pardoned. November it is then. We will see what happens.

Also why do I also feel like VAR and most of the officiating officials are being partial and supports City. Anybody see's that too.
This is why most  people are recently saying that the system is not transparent and are corrupt, I believe that when any team breaks the FFP rules, they should be facing the consequences of that which is a deduction of points or any other punishment that suits the level of offence they committed but then I wonder why Everton and other teams are getting punishments whereas Manchester City is getting a special treatment by the FFP, it would be very unfair to Everton and those other teams if City are guilty of the rules they breached and still pardoned like nothing happened, anyways no offence to City fans, your club plays good football and got good players but I also feel the team is being favoured mostly by the VAR and some referees in some matches.

The bigger clubs that competed in this first match, they all managed to win from their opponents. This was a satisfying first match though.

This is quite an interesting match between Newcastle vs Southampton. Fabian Schar got a red card in the 28th minute. So Newcastle played with only 10 players, their ball possession dropped drastically, their defense was very threatened, but they were able to take advantage of the only opportunity to score a goal and were able to defend the goal from many opponent attacks. Cool, for Newcastle.
Fabian Schar messed up. I asked myself always if that act was really necessary. Honestly, in my opinion he shouldn't have done that. Up in my head, I don't feel like it was meant to be red carded but the match officials has also done their own part of every. It was great of them to see that they went ahead to win that game after the goal for joelintino.

Well, I don't think I have seen enough of how good Arne Slot has been for Liverpool but I will pay close attention next week most definitely
They're also amongst clubs that played well during the first fixture of a new season.

Could the end score for this game between Chelsea and Manchester City be 1-1?

It was really unnecessary of him to headbutt the other player. It put his team at the disadvantage. They were doing really well but his red card put them a step back. But thankfully, they won. I don’t think it's good getting a red card at the start of the season. But I think he deserves the red card though.

Liverpool’s next game will be against Brentford, a much relatively stronger opponent compared to Ipswich Town, who has recently been promoted to the Premier League. We need to see more from Arne Slot and his version of Liverpool to say how well he will do in Liverpool and if he will be able to replace Klopp successfully.

The match between Manchester City and Chelsea has ended 2-0 and honestly, I am not surprised. I knew Manchester City would win this match. Chelsea keeps disappointing me with their performance especially after they spent this much money buying players.

This was expected after LCFC lost their PSR appeal. A 2-point deduction is not bad compared to what Everton received.

I think we must be fine if FA follows the procedure for Manchester City's 115 breaches. Manchester City's hearing is in September. Also, there's no ETA for when City's case is going to be finished too. Even if it's said to be November, delays can also happen and take longer than your expectation. This sounds unfair, but considering City breaches it 115 times, it may be a time-consuming task for FA.

Pep Guardiola has said there’s no motivation to win this another EPL title. I think there is no atom of honesty in what he said. I have seen guys like Messi and Ronaldo etc with insatiable thirst for success. Even, Ancelotti isn't letting up for youngies to catch up; what exemplifies the very elite is their non satisfaction with whatever level of successes.

I do not believe in the words of Pep Guardiola who says he has no motivation to win the title at the end of the season. His words are contrary to the aim of the team and coach in general. Each team spent large amounts of money just to get achievements at the end of the season. The large amount of money is used to bring in players even to bring in coaches. So, when Manchester City management brought in it also targeted a trophy. Is it possible that Pep was recruited not for that?
For me, it was only a strategy or it was an arrogant message that he had won everything with Manchester City.
But indeed it could be a natural thing when there is nothing that can be taken for now for Pep as an encouragement to make a breakthrough because all the trophies have been successfully obtained in all English competitions, so it could happen even though until now there is no media that can be a reference to account for it.
Champions League, EPL, FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup, English Super Cup and several other competitions have been successfully conquered by Pep while at Manchester City until today so it is quite natural that there is a boredom that occurs because there is nothing that can be pursued again for now as a spur.

But even so I think when he is still under contract everything will remain the same where Pep will continue to provide the best contribution as long as his contract is still there.

It?s even funnier when the person in question here is Guardiola, a brutal competitor and a serial winner..
Man will win a 5th, 6th and 7th consecutive titles if he has the chance, I?ll rather take the words of a drunk seriously that whatever Pep has to say on not being motivated to win, i know the man.

I think Pep Guardiola's statement about not having motivation to win another EPL title may have been taken out of context. As a football expert, I can say that Guardiola is a highly competitive and successful manager who always strives for excellence. It's possible that he is simply managing expectations or trying to take pressure off his team. It's important to remember that winning titles requires immense dedication and drive, and Guardiola is no stranger to that. So, it wouldn't be fair to doubt his ambition based on a single statement.
Do we believe what he said? Honestly, I personally will never believe what Guardiola says, who no longer has the ambition to win the EPL trophy at this time just because he has won several EPL trophies with Manchester City, even a coach who in my opinion has won as many UCL trophies like as Ancelotti never said these things and continued to target the UCL trophy as their main focus all this time to fulfill their ambitions, but if I look further at what was said by guardiola, it was actually just a form of low self-esteem because he saw that the competition in the English league was increasingly competitive at this time. , he said that he did not set a championship target at the end of the season and the main target was to finish in the top 4, what he said had a strong reason because currently rival teams have started to improve the quality of their squads, so that is will create tight competition in winning the championship trophy and that it will no longer be easy for Manchester City, but that doesn't mean they won't be aiming for the EPL trophy at the end of the season.

Of course Pep Guardiola said that because the last two years the Premier League title has been achieved easily, although there were some obstacles at the end of last season, the next target is that Man City and Pep are able to bring Man City to the Champions League Final and become a candidate for champion and at least be able to compete with Real Madrid who has a player capacity that is almost equal to Man City, Pep Guardiola does not want to rush about his interest in the title this season, because he seems to know that many other big clubs are able to thwart Man City such as Arsenal and Liverpool.

Chelsea showed some nice gameplay against Manchester city. They don't look bad at all. The midfield of Lavia and Caicedo looks good and balanced. I think if the manager does the right things, Chelsea might do well this season, considering.

I want to see Chelsea against normal nasty teams. That’s where the conclusion will be drawn. It might be an adrenaline that got them gingered like that. First game of the season against Pep’s team.

Also all these buying of kids and prospect won’t take them back to the top. The need to invest in experience and leadership.

It was not about Latvia and Calcedio alone. Enzo Fernandez did make quality contributions likewise during that game. I think they shouldn't have substituted Latvia but due to him limping, they had to do that to avoid further cases of injuries. A plenty should have been awarded honestly for Chelsea as that ball was well seen to have come in contact with Kovacic. It shows how much the officiating from last season has not even upgraded.

I wonder why they also kicked Raheem Sterling out of the game, during the last game against Manchester City you'll always want to see him fighting to make sure that they lose maybe to hurt Josep Pep Guardiola.
Todd Boehly looked vexed after the game. He has done good business but what they need right now has got to be the man below. Who saw Nicholas Jackson yesterday? I'm not a fan but hugely disappointed ASF. Victor Oshime is the best shot for Chelsea leading the attack.

Anyone who's known Pep Guardiola and his antics over the years will agree to the fact that he's very good at playing mind games so I wasn't surprised to see him say that there's no motivation to win the English Premier League at the moment during his pre-match conference with the press. I think he just said that so Chelsea manager and player will expect less from them while they prepare to be at their best when they face Chelsea in less than one hour time. Just like the people you mentioned, Pep Guardiola is also one manager who's never satisfied of winning trophies and matches so I would never believe such statement that came from him.

Pep Guardiola gave a different result when they played with a serious game when they beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
From the results of the first Premier League match, we can conclude that every word Pep Guardiola said before the match started was his strategy to trick the opponent even though the opposing team's coach already understood the psychological warfare that the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach was playing.

Haaland has again recorded a good record in the last three seasons in every first match he played. He scored again in the opening match. The first goal in the opening match occurred in the 2022/2023 season against West Ham United, the 2023/2024 season against Burnley and 2024/2025 against Chelsea.

This must be a little relief for Arne Slot. I mean everyone was curious how good he would be able to start. Because people were critizing Liverpool transfer policy. More precisely, no transfer at all.  Tongue

But still we saw a good start by Liverpool. Ipswich are one of the new members of the PL this season. I was expecting them to be more ambitious but we didn't see anything particular. Maybe they get used to the league in time.
Jota and Salah scored the goals that finished Ipswich in 5 minutes and did not allow any surprises. Arne Slot made a happy start to the league by starting with a victory. Every point is important for the championship and the points lost here may upset Liverpool at the end of the year. Liverpool says hello to the league with a definite 2-0 victory.
A very good debut for Arne Slot because this is their away game, even though the promotion club has recruited many players to help them compete in the premier league but the squad they have still can't beat the tough Liverpool squad, this club did not make a transfer this summer but I'm sure Liverpool still has the same performance as last season because they also still have Mohammed Salah.
I know the reason Liverpool don't want to let go of Moh Salah because they can't let go of the striker who always makes his contribution to the club.

Bad start off for Chelsea, They are currently sitting on the 17th position in the league table which is just only one step down into starting off their season on the relegation zone, I wasn't bothered seeing them lose this game because I already know Manchester City was not going to lose this game, but I was hoping that Chelsea would have insisted in getting a draw out of this match, because in their last season games they held City on a draw both in their home and away matches.

That's impossible to expect Chelsea to draws with Manchester City like last season. This is because Chelsea's squad is worse than last season. Todd Boehly did something stupid. He replaced a good coach who had delivered results with a new one who doesn't know how to run the club. And this is his consequence to see his team might be better or bad.

This is another setback for Chelsea to get a loss on their derby against Manchester City. This is pretty clear that Chelsea most likely will finish out of the top 10. They're gonna meet Wolves in the upcoming week, and that's an away game. I'm 100% on Wolves to win the game.

And, we'll soon see the real test for Chelsea. We have many "should-win" games coming up. If Chelsea fails to win them, we're finished.

Well I think if you want to have a realistic chance to steal some points in a game against Manchester City, then it is rather at the beginning of the season in a home game instead of in a game later down the road into the season. It is not so much about how many games there are left to be played, no need to be talking about that. I think the psychological factor kicks in much more as Chelsea knows what it means to have a bad start. Last season they were at least able to tie the game against Liverpool, but now losing this one and then heading off to a game away from home could literally be the worst case materializing within a single week.

Over the course of the last five years, Chelsea is by far the only club to reach a negative transfer fee balance of 1 billion euro (they are at -988 million). That is 200 million per season and they are said to not have finished their plans for this transfer window. Throwing 200 million out the window on average with those results is a catastrophe. They finished 4th, 3rd, 12th and 6th last season and without that winning streak at the end of last season, they would have been lost once again. The Conference League isn't going to save it for them even if they were to win it.

First 3 points of the season for Guardiola but there are a lot more games this season, if they manage to go further in champions they can even reach 70 played games.

Poor performance by Chelsea...  Sad  But no surprise though. If there was Pochettino behind the wheel then I think the team would be able to compete harder. It would be quite possible to get a point too.

If you sack your manager while things were okay then you will have to wait for the team to adapt to the system of a new manager. Anyways, I hope this process wouldn't take too long.

Jackson could have scored a goal by the way. It is unbelievable he can't even position himself in such an easy situation. He shouldn't be the main striker for this team, I'm saying it again.

I think he is whining. Pep knows what they want to hear and he feeds them. The annoying thing is that everyone could predict their dominance with how much quality that they were bringing in but people like to rely on myths & denials instead of focusing on distinct realities.
Their win today against Chelsea was just  a glance of what we will expect this season. He’s done it 4 times in a row, what makes us think that Arsenal or Liverpool would have a chance this season. I think he just wants to shift the pressure from them in the beginning of the season like he’s always done to come alive around April.
