When Nottingham Forest was newly promoted to English Premier League, they signed 21 new players and many of us were laughing at them. They actually did not perform well with the new signings but they were not relegated. Now, we have started seeing the impact of those signings because they could sell and reinforce the team.
They had a bad coach last season who's also struggling managing the club Leicester City this season. Right now, they have a manager who has premier league experience, he did well during preseason and that was the driving force ahead of the new season, they have had three points at Anfield and a draw against Chelsea, just how they should take points from the top dogs. Nuno Espirito Santos is doing a superb job for them, will not forget in a rush how he did the same for Wolverhampton. Manchester City losing was the huge shock yesterday.
The role of the coach is indeed very influential for the progress of the team and that happened to Notingham Forest this season who performed impressively and even ranked in the top 5 temporarily, he could be a threat to clubs who want to get UCL tickets next season such as Tottenham, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Man Utd and Newcastle if Notingham Forest can finish in the top 5 is a big achievement for the club and Nuno Espirito Santos deserves appreciation.
Though on my own opinion, it's very much unlikely that nothingham Forest would challenge for a place in the uefa champions league, because am quite sure that even though they have been of good form of late, they don't have the level of consistency required to get into the uefa champions league spot and keep it, am saying so because the season is still very early and the first leg is not even close to completion, but if it's a place in the uefa Europa league or uefa conference league, i believe that it would be much more achievable, but the uefa champions league is totally out of their reach right now.
Then as of the influence of the coach on a team, sincerely speaking i believe that it's the coach that make or break a club, if the coach is actually good, the team will definitely be good, especially if his playing system fits in with the type of players at his disposal, ok let's take a look at Manchester united today, since they lost sir Alex Ferguson to retirement, they have changed a whole lot of managers thinking that their fortune can change, but no it doesn't, because the one's that are quite good, their playing system doesn't suits the players at their disposal, so the coach has a major role to play in the prowess of a team.
