Professional Footballers' Association chief executive Gordon Taylor has suggested halves of less than 45 minutes could be considered when football resumes.

Discussions about the Premier League's return are ongoing but Taylor says players are "concerned" about safety.

Honestly, what's the point in this? Why not just do penalty shoot outs or fist goal wins instead? Or just get the players to play the matches on FIFA? It's stupid. If they're that concerned about safety this much and there is a clear danger then games just shouldn't be played. Playing shortened games isn't going to do much for safety. You're still exposed. Either play the games as they should be played or not at all.
I am sure they are still not sure what to do as no one want to take blame so better if they feel not good then just cancel this all and think about next season.

This season has lost totally the interest of the fans.
With discussions that I am making with people they do not really care anymore about the EPL matches and if Liverpool or any other team is going to get the title. All leagues are a mess and it would something just to be done to finish the league.
Probably they support a team like Spurs or Arsenal who have had crap seasons & now nothing to play for?
I'm an Arsenal fan and ever since Arteta's arrival, we've been performing in a better [ish] level [I do know we're still far from our best form] and on paper, 2nd to 4th CL spots are still up for grabs.

Wolves & Sheff United - Trying to get Europa League football (outside shot of CL spot)
I think Wolves might be able to surprise eveyone for the last CL spot.

Nothing official yet but it may be possible to begin training in the third week in May and games in the middle of June + playing in half stadium only. They are waiting directives from prime minister..SkySport
What is clear is training in May will run normally and also the match in gambling I think it is near time but what we are worried about is the fitness of the players remain stable before the game later.

Maybe there will be no celebration when the players score and just stay quiet because there can be no crowd. This is not cool. Roll Eyes

Watford won’t get relegated, there’s definitely 3 worse teams in the league & that’ll be shown when we finally restart the league.

I hope so but Villa with their new goalkeeper Reina are quite something. Despite had not good results in their last 5 games but their defense are getting solid. In the other side, Bournemouth are still playing inconsistently and I think Norwich have no hope already.

There’s not much between Barca, Real, Atletico & Liverpool & Man City, they’re fairly closely matched for quality. I think the PL’s other teams are stronger than the beet of the rest in La Liga though.

Watford is one of those teams who have a very good solid championship level team but when it goes to premier league it just becomes very hard to be stable.
The level of challenge between Championship and Premier League are huge. That's it. Such a life and such a challenge for Watford and from any teams promoted from Championship every season.

I mean think about it, we are talking about probably the biggest league in the world, sure la liga, Bundesliga, ligue 1, serie a all of that are awesome but premier league might be the biggest of them all, at least right now it is like that, at one point 10 years ago Barcelona was winning ALL the games and we may consider la liga bigger, but right now I think its premier league.
Premier League is a biggest league in aspect of finance but I am neither sure nor agree with the statement that it is the biggest or the best league in the Europe and around the world. Within last 10 years, there are limited clubs from England have won the Champions League. Most of them came from La Liga. Despite of recent falls of performance and competitive abilities from La Liga's team, Barcelona, Real Madrid and A.Madrid, it is unfair to call Premier League is the biggest and best one.

They have biggest football industry, yes.
They have most of best football managers: Kloop, Pep., Mourinho, Ancelotti, (maybe) Allegri, etc. Yes
They have a biggest and best league: Nope or not yet.

So to have a team on premier league, and to stay there forever, like at least a decade if not more, would take YEARS of success back to back in order to build that culture into a team. Like I am not expecting arsenal to ever relegate, even if they play horribly.

Sorry I have no merit left. You would surely deserve a few here.
Yes, maybe you should do it or not at all. LOL

There are many possibilities about who will be relegated if the Premier League continues. The next 7 matches will determine who wins the EPL (Liverpool is very likely) and who is relegated. Watford can be degraded if they cant rise from the zone.

Aside from that, it would be a waste if they are really relegated. They are always quite decent but this year is probably one of their worst year. Things could be different depending on how those top brass decided to end the premier league
There is a discourse that relegation will be eliminated and will remain neutral all three teams to avoid the crowd of fans if they disagree with the decision, but it is definitely not clear whether this has been decided or not.

Whatever happens Watford does not want relegation but clearly I want to see him continue next season.

I think this is a good hope for them.

I didn't like Watford for the last years but due to theThat's what I want to say Watford is indeed not the best team and in fact always in the relegation zone but with the bitcoin logo on their shirts, I want to see Watford continue to be in the EPL next season so for the rest of the match I hope to improve their performance to go up on the table.

Of course people who like bitcoin will be happy to see Watford who continues to play on EPL without having to go to the lower divisions.

I didn't like Watford for the last years but due to the fact that they have BTC on their shirt they become one of the teams I like to watch.
We all in here do not want them to be relegated. They are a great marketing for our crypto world and they are getting a lot of attention when they play on the EPL and not in Championship.

Actually they are only using that logo because of sportsbet sponsoring them as their main sponsor. Sportsbet accept bitcoin as well therefore they are using bitcoin logo in their sleeve. So if you want to thank anyone then thank sportsbets for that

Watford are a good team but this season they weren't that good I would say. But now they are showing signs of moving up under Pearson. Changes are made and they are going so well for them. IIRC Watford didn't had much fixtures with big 6 so I think things will work out for them even if season continues. Still can't say for sure since there is so much competition near to relegation line. Anything can happen... That's what makes EPL spicy   Cheesy

I really like Watford and to me the league should continue Cheesy. I don't know if watford will be going out of regulation zone, if the season doesn't get completed I really hope at least they won't finish it like this, just keep the teams there and do not regulate them at all. That way watford is guaranteed to not go down, better idea to me actually instead of continue to play Cheesy. Guess the best way to find out is time, we gonna have to wait and see whats going to happen.

Even if league continues I think watford has a good chance to stay, if it doesn't continue it hurts Liverpool more than any other team, they could have been over 100 points by now, so lets hope league reopens and we can see a very record breaking and historical season. Historical because both points but also corona Cheesy.

Premier League working on a seven week festival of football if season resumes – but it MUST start by June 19

I think this would be the best option if the league resumes. Just play it like it's a tournament. Whatever happens I think teams are going to have to play at least two games a week.

If it resumes but the good news is that the number of infected people as well as the number of death due to the covid 19 is gradually decreasing worldwide every single day so if things keep on getting better then we might see this to happen

If the season was ended early then they would probably scrap the relegation also and do what the Belgian league did as it wouldn't be fair otherwise. The winners win, the bottom team(s) stay up and the promoted teams go up and they play with the extra (though the Belgian league there's only one relegated/promoted team I believe).

You could have extra relegation spots the next season to get the leagues back to the same numbers. Either way, it really wouldn't be fair to relegate teams instantly if they've got a chance for survival and they'd almost certainly be lawsuits by them if they did so that's why it's best just to let them stay up.

This would be the best choice if they decided to end the season as it is. However as I stated above, if things getting better then they would want the matches to continue because basically premier league is currently the most anticipated league worldwide. More matches means more money and also more future deal to secure with lot of brands

I’m sure all the crap teams down the bottom want to void the season but that’s not because they're worried about peoples lives. It’s because they’re having absolute failure seasons & don’t want to be relegated.

For the integrity of the sport the season will be completed.

Of course for the lowest club wants this season to be canceled because by not playing from what is left then they will be relegated of course for them it hurts because this is a very unexpected mistake, but I have not seen news whether in the season there will be a relegation club ?

Is it possible that this season there will only be an ordinary championship and no best team or award to other players?

Why would they (if you are referring to bottom 3)? They still have so many matches left and they still have chance to move up the table. Finalizing the season would leave them in relegation spot. SO they would rather choose the season to continue rather than getting cancelled.

I would say the teams just above the bottom 3 would be feeling like this but apart from them I don't think other teams are wishing for season to get cancelled.
They will always think of those who are at the bottom 3 of course with the cancellation of this season they will be very slumped to advance to lower division again, therefore with the match resumed of course the team who are already in the relegation zone will try to advance to the table top with the remaining matches at the moment.
Actually a different reason why the clubs wouldn't want it cancelled and voided. They get money from the games being played. And TV money when it is televised. Cancelled and they get neither.
Of course, with the match canceled this season, there will be a lot of losses for the club, including TV broadcasts that have been paid.
