11,000 calories a day, that’s crazy. I consider anything above 3,000 calories a day as excessive, I guess that’s why he was a pro athlete & I’m a sofa bum Cheesy

I do not remember the exact figure but yes I remember reading about that Phelps guy eating huge huge meals just to keep his regime proper because he was training for hours and hours.

But I never see marathon runners eat that much, and those guys run like 50km every day or something just to train. Does swimming burn more than running? Football is so intense but they also do not need to eat a lot of calories right?

For an athlete like him 11,000 calories is nothing where he burn nearly 90% of that. But for someone like you and me taking 3000 calories per day is really excessive and within short time our weight scale gonna shake:D. Last year one of my friend who is a nutritionist suggested me not to take more than 2000 calories per day and it works superbly to burn extra fats from our body. Just physical exercise isn't the only option to keep our body fit where its urgent to continue proper food habit too. Most athlete's are very much strict with their daily diet chart.

Food is a very big aspect of keeping shape and fitness mate. Most of those pro athletes know their amounts of intakes in calories and how much the need to burn off per day in order to keep within the normal range.
Yeap,,,that's the key to their body fitness and not only for them but also for every single pizza hunter Smiley

Why do you think Ronaldo Senior had problems with his weigh despite being an athlete?

That's why he is the fastest striker of all time Smiley. If he can run super fast with his weight problems then let it be.

I doubt eating junk food really matters all that much neither when you are training the way they train. These people are not just purely talented people who happen to just be lucky and be at the right place at the right time to get where they are. These people worked all their life which means they must have some sort of self will to not eat or keep forcing themselves to training, I am %100 sure any player who is good enough to be in premier league also has a good home built studio as well, even if it is small they are making millions of dollars so they probably built a room for just training.

So they definitely watch and try to control what they eat. Ignoring what they eat just because the workout every day would be irresponsible. Why do you think Ronaldo Senior had problems with his weigh despite being an athlete? Hazard after the move to Madrid?

When you are training like hell and and burning thousands of calories a day, you are not really going to see too much change if you just eat a pizza every once in a while, or eat some burgers, those are natural stuff that their body will burn off anyway. Remember the time what Michael Phelps eats became viral? That dude was taking 11k calories a day because he was burning a lot more every day so in order to keep his body weight he had to eat a lot.

Liverpool's Legend Dalglish test positive for Covid-19 despite being asymptomatic.

Difficult to stay focused on training & maintaining fitness & a good diet I reckon. I know they’re professionals but part of me thinks some players might be enjoying a bit of junk food & extra booze Cheesy

If even they are to stick to the training, it still takes playing real matches for proper fitness. The first few weeks after resumption will surely be fun to see, completing a string of passes might be harder than we've always witnessed.
We call this is nature because usually this happen after some long breaks and right now we are in unacceptable long and locked break so we will watch many unusual things from many players in coming days if we will able to have this all in next few months.

With Kane, and Son in full fitness after recover from injuries

There is going to be a nice reset, no fatigue no nothing.

I expect we will see some strong performances out of the gate with full strength teams.

Which team can mentally get there to the professional level the quickest might be the difference

Currently too many competitions going on between players as social media is main thing of contact between all of us so hopefully these all players will be active and in better position after this all locked down.

You may think that there is no fatigue when coming back from something like this but do not forget that these players also need some condition as well that you can't get anywhere else other than actually playing. Match readiness is something even in football manager, it is so important that even a game put it in their game.

So, you can run at your own treadmill or run a bike at home or do whatever you can to keep your condition higher and maybe ready for a match but when you run around for 90 minutes you realize that maybe getting ready at home and getting ready by playing bunch of games early on the season are different things.

However injury recovery is definitely a plus, nobody considered it but when the league restarts (if it restarts) Spurs will have a bigger advantage than any other team for their position.

Look at him, so eager to come back in training!  Don't you dare to question his 2nd-year performance at Spurs, it will be legendary! I can't wait to see his new squad after the summer transfer (if any).

There’s nothing legendary about Spurs, choking is in their club DNA. They’re one of the most underachieving clubs in world football, they just don’t win trophies.

I don't quite agree with this. They just don't win trophies is a fact and I can't dispute that but based on their player profile and budget I can argue a point that they are actually overachieving last few seasons and that they made more than was expected with high league finishes and CL final. Yes they didn't win anything but who would have backed them to even play in the final? That sort of result should be considered as positive as well as top 4 finishes in PL.

With Kane, and Son in full fitness after recover from injuries and with good transfers in summer (I just hope so), the Special One can help Spurs to fight for the Premier League title next season. Arsenal has not yet come back to their highs despite of so many coaches came and went away. Manchester City might see a several years of falling behind other strong teams and they need time to rebuild their team. Manchester United, sorry but Ole is not a good coach. Next season, I woud like to see the trophy competition between Liverpool, Spurs, and Chelsea. It is interesting to watch the fight of the Special One and Mr. Frankie.  Cheesy

The Special One became the "Social One" for a day and now he is sorry about that.
It was reported earlier that he and some of his Tottenham players had an informal training session in a north London park on Tuesday,

There is really no new news about what they are going to do but it looks like they are looking into any sort of possibility to return to playing. I know we do not really want to force players to play and risk their lives but this moved a lot beyond what "we" as fans want and became more about what the players want and actually also what they NEED.

The money involved in football is not a small amount and specifically in premier league we are talking about close to a billion dollars so if this season doesn't really return back these players may not get the money they are looking for and that may really hurt their finances. So, players are looking into anyway to return as well, so does teams, and also sponsors and television rights and basically everyone involved wants some sort of way to get back into playing so that nobody loses money because of corona.

Boys you have a serious football addiction and since your patience level is too low in quarantine, i recommand to install PES or FIFA and play a tournament with your favourite team in a Chinese stadium!! (from wherever came this clever idea lol Undecided )

The premier league won't return in the near future unfortunately, eventhough we can see there's some european clubs like Bayern' Munich start training together under social-distancing rules ... it seems the premier league won't do that.

The talks would resumed next month I heard. So yeah it's expected to return by June which the season supposed to be end.

There is a little difference between Germany and UK. If you check the numbers of the crisis you can see that Germany is about 10-14 days ahead when it comes to the infections. I am pretty sure the Premier League will resume their trainings within the next weeks too. I doubt that the current season will be canceled. Let's see what the officials say at their next meeting, but I am confident that we will see some Premier League football sooner or later  Smiley.
