Full salary for not working fully? Don't think that'll be fair for the clubs. We all know the matches that are currently not been played contribute to the expenses of the club as it offers them the opportunity to sell tickets and also other allocation they get. The matches only offers opportunity for them to sell jersey and other accessories to fans.

The clubs need to cut down on some expenses when the league resume fully, If the footballers/workers aren't been considerate, I'm quite sure we'll see news popping up of clubs sacking some workers after them getting paid and the footballers not getting a new contract especially for those that haven't been that productive to the clubs.

Everybody has the right to get their full salary it doesn't matter who they are, football player, grasscutter, stadium painter. But the worse thing is, some people who CAN opt to get paid less for not really doing anything, should. And if normal people get reimbursed by government, do football players also?

Players have got together and made a plan to get funds for NHS  (I saw a figure of 4M mentioned so far)

Cant see it going to china. Like a party in a lions mouth. just pointless extra risk traveling there.

Haha, never heard that one before, made me laugh on what feels like day 1000 of quarantine. Yeah there’s no way any PL football will get played in China.

I miss the footy a lot, it gives me structure if you get me. We’re 25 points clear too, what a fucking time for this to happen. Why not when Fergie was winning title after title?

The last thing I heard is that they have decided to play rest of them matches in close door. Any final update? Sorry I am not much into reading and stuffs online these days. Got some fever from last two days but feeling better today.

I haven't read anything similar to this one.
Personally, I don't think that this is a good solution as the players might get infected again. For not doing the matches it is something - doing them with no spectators. Maybe the cancellation of the season would be better..

I don’t think that deal is ever likely to happen any way. The PL season will finish in the UK with no fans, behind closed doors when it’s safe to do so.

I also think it is nonsense to go play in China. There is no real good reason behind that and it doesn’t make sense at all. This has no precedents and it has never happened before for a country except those that have been in war to go play the rest of the games in another country.I hardly believe Premier League fans will agree to this.
Of course many English league fans will not agree to the agreement because for them it will be difficult and it will also be dangerous for the players if the EPL plays in the Chinese plain why is there such an idea? I think this is confusing.
But behind the closed game, of course, there will be more stringent security and this will be done in his own country will be better compared to China.
China is very dangerous because the corona virus all starts from them.

There is crazy idea to play rest matches of the season in China's mainland, it is terrible idea and I don't support it.
Yeah and I don't think Chinese government will allow foreigners to enter the country with the Pandemic condition that has infected all countries.

Am I the only one who thinks that it's a bad ideas for the Premier League to re-open only to be played behind closed doors? I mean not ticket sales, merchandise sales even advertising will be low.
The ticket sales would be a huge loss to the clubs, but I think home delivery services are still active, so merchandise can be sold to anywhere within the country. Sponsorship contracts would also be honoured as the players would have them on their jerseys and it would also be displayed on the digital boards.

The revenue accrued would not be the same as during a normal campaign, but there'll be money coming in. This could prevent some clubs from going insolvent during this period.

It's not a good idea in my opinion. I think it's best if football is postponed indefinitely till we're certain that the war against the pandemic is over. When the dust has settled, only then should the Premier League be allowed to be resumed.

You're making a point there I mean is just not football if the most important players aren't present (the fans) they serve as extra energy to the 22 players on the field when they need motivation to continue playing.

I’m eagerly waiting for the Premier League to resume again, but I too don’t want to see it behind closed doors as without the the fans cheering or booing the players those matches will seem really dull.

@Strongkored well I feel that China will definitely be open to hosting the premier league out there, because they’ll earn tremendous amount of money, and since their economy has already been hit I’m sure that they’ll be more than happy to allow the premier league to resume their season out there.

So I just rewatch wrestle mania (the highest) and I think that's the most boring thing I have watched in quite a very lonytime. Why, because the fans where not in the background creating an enjoyable atmosphere just as the football fans does. One thing I hate is not watching football another is watching a boring match. That's just punishment on another level.

At the moment we have to prioritize safety and not selfishness is a good and wise choice, but on the one hand at least this league must continue even though we have to wait for this pandemic to end and I think it doesn't matter because at least the struggle and effort made by each team must be continued and not it should have been stopped because of a coronavirus outbreak but indeed, if this pandemic cannot be resolved quickly then I am also not sure the league will continue or it may be ended because of a very scary pandemic.
Because of the curve of England is weeks-lagged behind the curves of Italy, Spain so I think we have to wait after one month to see any new plan for Premier League. Serie A and Bundesliga have disclosed some plans for their leagues. Those nations began earlier with their curves so they flattened it out sooner than England. Let's wait and hope.

The season will get finished because it has to, there’s too much money involved to just cancel it. Rightly or wrongly the season will get completed but obviously only when it’s safe to do so & most likely behind closed doors.

We cannot say what it will most likely be. I think people and clubs and organizations should only think of the 1 sure thing, and that is that we must get out of this mess first. We can plan, but everything must be pushed forward as the priority is safety. No humans, no sports.

When you hear the news that the prime minister of a country is treated in intensive care then it really creates the panic among the people and those who do not believe the severity of this covid19 before, would started to believe after hearing such news.
That's something I agree with. Many people will be shocked and will start realising how serious the situation is!

Playing with spectators is the best option if it was possible. Currently or even until May (at least), having 25% than normal spectators (separated) with +200% tickets' price might resolve financial problems of clubs but it will be a disaster for the NHS and the community.
It is known now that the spread of corona in Italy, Spain, France was accelerated by UEFA games. Better to not make the same mistake twice. They can make money from additional TV banners during the game or whatever method they like. Fans can cry while watching games in TV, better than being buried without the presence of their families when hospitals become overcrowded...

Let's not react like any smart person who has the talent wouldn't become a sports person. Lebron James is quite smart, one of the smartest basketball players I have ever seen, and he is a sports person, Steve Nash the same, dude is as smart as it gets and he was a basketball player as well hell we even had 3 time senator Bill Bradley as hall of fame basketball talent as well.

So, let's not act like there are no smart people in sports, I like NBA so I gave examples from that but I am sure there are a lot of football players who are super smart as well, not every player is an idiot, some definitely are but not all of them. The root of the problem is not that they are idiots, the root of the problem is you are giving a 18-20 year old millions of dollars without them maturing properly, so it does go to their heads sometimes.

I think it is a very very dickhead move to call all football players idiots, I mean who do you think you are that you can call other people idiots? Are you really making so much change in the whole world with your brain that you can justify your critisism? Sure you can call them bad players, you can even call them bad people because they crashed and ran away, thats totally understandable, be furious about the deed they did, but to call all football players idiots? Hell there were players with PHD in football, you think you sitting at home wearing your pjyamas can call them all idiots makes any sense?

After all of that, its gonna be horrible to say this Cheesy but even if there are few idiots (which totally possible) at least nots not put them all in. Plus I doubt money has anything to do with it, there are some startup people who get millions of dollars in angel investment and they are still fine and working on their jobs, so money at young age doesn't equal to being an idiot neither.

That's a good news and the best / fairest option, although the actual season may end in October...which is a little bit underestimated imo. The actual spread of the virus in UK did not reach the peak even until now..

How can you say that covid-19 is not at peak in UK. The situation is very worse in UK and even their president Boris Johnson moved to intensive care as symptoms worsen. What could be more painful that the head of the state is in severe condition because of this virus.
It's not the time to play football but to stay at home and be safe.

Wow...  Even that guy huh...  I don't think I'll ever be the same after all this s**t.  I don't think I'll ever stop wearing a mask and be concious about hand washing and hygiene for a long looong while meh.
