I'm also ok with City being the favorites on paper. Liverpool lacks some depth and the bookies know it, City has way more rotation options and starting 11 quality is similar.

Liverpool is never the favorite until, 7 matches has been played and they have won all seven the season before this one was won by Manchester united, but at a point in the league Liverpool was the favorite.
And this present concluded season they where the favorite and they won the league.
This time i would not overlook there strength/team . Liverpool would be my favorite team to win the next Season English premier league.

And I think that nothing lasts forever and this will be the last season of domination M.City and Liverpool. Remember these words.

Its definitely not worth less than 2/1 for Liverpool

Neither is Man City at less than 1/1   OMG

Their fans will be paying for everyone else's winnings for little to no reward if their team make the incredibly hard challenge with dozen's of other competing teams.

Seems crappy to me

@Globb0 I think it’s too early to wager on Liverpool, because if Van Dijk suffers a long term injury then Liverpool’s defence may not be as good as it was in the last season. Furthermore Manchester City have the player’s that can challenge Liverpool, and since it might be Pep last season in Manchester they’ll be extra motivated to win it for him.

Right then Ill bite

I just saw even better 14/1 for Chelsea.

Great one. Chelsea have been buying some really good players and transfer window hasn't closed yet so there is still possible they might get some few more big names. With the squad they have right now , they are also a real contender to win PL this upcoming season and with that odds its worth taking a shot. Gj Globb getting that one.

@Avirunes someone needs to tell Chelsea that we’re in the middle of the pandemic, and they need to stop buying the best player’s available in the market. Lastly with the squad Chelsea has gathered I’ll be disappointed if they don’t compete for the title, however I’m not expecting them to win it because Lampard doesn’t have the vast experience like Klopp and Pep have.

Everything's cool but it looks too beautiful on paper, Do you think that even Lampart will make it all so easy? It is not that easy. Names won't play themselves and I don't think I'll give you examples because they're everywhere even for the fan in slippers. Chelsea max 3-4 this season. Next year - maybe even the champion.

Last year when I made a new thread for Spanish league I got some requests to do the one for Premier League as well. The time has come and I decided to make one before the new season starts. The OP has not been active for 3+ years and Premier League deserves and active thread with poll and maybe some other features thrown in the mix as well.

Please move all future conversations to the new thread and let this one go to deserved retirement. It has served as well with 1800+ pages.

Just a reminder.
Better to move to the other topic and keep discussing there, I don't know if mods can lock this one? or else the discussion might split between the two!

The EPL is coming back in a few week and its amazing that it wont take long and all this is just because of the Covid-19 lull. I have seen that the French League  (League 1) is back and cant wait for the EPL to return. I am still loyal to Manchester City as my favorite team, and I hope they and Guardiola manage to secure the title for the umpteenth time for Manchester City.

I don't think Manchester city major hunger is the English premier league, am not a Manchester city fan but I would know that the uefa champions league is what is on there mind, pep is not the first to win the English premier league for them but he has been different he had won the domestic double for them which was unbelievable, but still city fans think they have what it take to win the champions league and pep needs to win this for them.

Seems about right, Man City are an ageing team though, I think they need more to take the title off Liverpool. David Silva is gone, they still haven’t replaced Kompany with a proper leader. Aguero is getting old as is Fernandinho. De Bruybe is the best player in the league though, will be a battle between the top 2.

They will become the next ac milan, barcelona, and manchester united in the future.
I mean, it is not about the trophy that they will get.  Grin #NoOffense
But, the struggle with their transition from a golden era.

I'm a Barca fan and even I have to admit our spending in recent years has been uncharacteristic of the team I know and love. Remember 10 to 15 years ago, when Liverpool looked like they were in huge debt thanks to their American owners and the same with the Glazers of Man United? People were saying our setup was so unique we were doing well in cash and revenue, because the power of the club was also with the supporters who vote in our governance.

So in a way, you can't say we are the same as United or Chelsea... we still can vote out the people we hate, whereas those clubs cannot.

Premier League odds 2020/21

Sportinglife:
10/11 - Man City
15/8 - Liverpool
8/1 - Man Utd
12/1 - Chelsea
50/1 - Arsenal | Tottenham
150/1 - Leeds | Leicester | Wolves

Cbssports:
Manchester City (-110)
Liverpool (+125)
Chelsea (+800)
Manchester United (+1600)
Tottenham (+4000)
Wolves (+5000)
Arsenal (+5000)
Leicester City (+6600)

Still, manchester is not red atm  Cry

Skybet also have Leeds to win at 150/1 whilst teams like West Brom, Fulham, Burnley and Palace are all between 1000-1500/1. I'm really not sure how they figure out Leeds are seventh favourite to win the league. In my opinion they'll be very lucky to stay up and should be one of the favourites to go down as much as I don't want that to happen. It's funny how you used to be able to get 5000/1 on the relegation favourites to win the league but after Leicester's miraculous Premier League win that changed everything. Very tough month for Leeds as well. Liverpool and City and Sheffield United away. The only team they should get some points from is Fulham at home who they beat 3-0 last year but lost 2-1 on the reverse fixture.

The most interesting thing in the next EPL would be the way that Liverpool is going to perform.
Now they are the title holders and they have to play good in order to continue being the No1 in England.
Would they be able to do a back to back?
It is difficult to have a team capable of consistently playing to secure title every season, especially football which has a high intensity game like the EPL now. Liverpool were the winner last season and will definitely have to try to defend the title next season which starts next month.

I still believe Manchester City are tough contender for them and Liverpool cant relax if they dont want their status as defending champions to be removed by another team.

Anybody here daring enough to bet on Spurs? I might just put down 2 or 3 dollars on 50/1,,, we have office pool and some guy is willing to go 5% more than the highest odds from official bookies so there is where I go. Hey, you never discount Mourinho who knows what happens this season anything goes!

I have to agree 15/1 or 14/1 for Chelsea sounds like really good odds, nice find guys. They have a strong team who are now already experienced in cup finals, they will get even stronger and no longer have the transfer ban to worry about so might get even more stronger players. 14/1 is very good value for a team that definitely knows how to win in the past!

Liverpool need 2-3 new players to keep growing, one of them has to be a centre back and another one a player that can push Mane, Salah and Firmino for the starting spot. With these 2 players, I think Liverpool would be on equal odds as City.

Best odds I can find for EPL 20/21 Outright Winner (top runners) are on Fairlay (and they usually always are the best here at this time of the season). Just over 15/1 for Chelski right now but Liverpool at 13/5 is NOT BAD AT ALL.

Happy to see Liverpool not the favourites as usual, and happy to see Citeh so highly favoured because that means great odds for any underdog against them again, been making me good money for 2 seasons =D

@SFR10 if those news are right, earliest for fans in stadiums is October so the season could even 5/6 games in before a home game becomes a real home game! Unfair advantage for the teams who'll have those fans? 30% is a third of the stadium and ONLY home? Seems unfair for teams who won't have home games in that period!
You have a valid point but it's the only way to stop away fans from traveling.

Why not have 10% home and 10% away or something?

Seems fairer. I guess its the traveling they don't like.
That's my assumption as well.

Don't they know all Man United fans live in China.  lol
That's a good one Cheesy
- In addition to that, I think Man City will be the only unaffected team by this change [they've been practically playing with little to no fans in their stadium for the past season or so] Wink

It’s the Community Shield next weekend, Liverpool vs Arsenal. I’m looking forward to seeing how well prepared we are before we begin our title defence Wink
As an Arsenal fan, I'm expecting a win for Liverpool [there are a lot of uncertainties surrounding almost half of our squad in regards to their future in the club and that'll surely affect our performance].

Would they be able to do a back to back?
I hope so...
- I prefer seeing them lift the trophy instead of Chelsea or Man City.

When the competition has been running for 5 matches and so on, I think it will be seen what club that make improvements and changes in their team, but earlier they play well and continue to earn points will make their team more likely to win trophies.
