In my opinion, the most important thing in getting rid of gambling addiction is strict control over your gaming expenses and having a hobby that will occupy your time.
That truly is indeed. But someone always struggles in controlling the budget that we have and so as the emotion. That's when the gambler is triggered on how they should control it. Even for so many times it's told to be controlled and have to maintain it, still, that doesn't help when they are no longer in the control. And for someone to occupy his/her time in doing other things, this is very effective. You're forgetting to gamble because of that one thing that you're doing and any other activities that will occupy your time is great.
You know what, all these things might be too easy to say but really hard for them to do. Since they are deeply trapped into gambling, all they need is just an assurance from their family and loved ones that they will be present throughout the recovery process. That alone leaves a huge impact to all gambling addicts. That they were not alone in the process.

Warm regards,
GxSTxV

Honestly, I cannot write or saying anything beyond congratulating you from those changes you have managed to do in your life and the courage you have had in order to share you experience here with us. One thing is to have such a serious problem like addiction to gambling and a completely different thing is to have such a problem and openly talk about it so others have access to your experience and be careful themselves.
I have never personally struggled against addiction to gambling (even though I have indeed felt like chasing my losses) so I can only imagine how difficult was for you to realize you had a problem and you needed to tackle it before it was too late. You have got my respect for it.

Considering you continue to engage with gambling and with this community because it is part of your job, please continue to keep an eye on your habits and urges, relapsing into your addiction it could be one of the worst things which could happen to
a recovering case like yours.

Good luck and God bless you and your family.

heavy gamblers certainly to get out of the zone is very difficult and can get out with a big reason, maybe not all gamblers 100% back to normal but at least reduce detrimental activities. my past experience felt a heavy burden because of being addicted but I was afraid that it would continue to have fatal consequences until the family was destroyed, finally I had to start reducing excessive gambling activities and choosing family as the main reason to save, because I love my family so much.
It's hard for me to say how this can happen in gambling, because I haven't had to deal with it in real life (which I'm very glad about), but I have had to deal with another addiction in my family, when a person couldn't spend a single day without alcohol (in very rare cases), until a serious illness occurred that forced him to stop.

I think that without this, he would have continued to do the same thing as long as his health allowed him, so addiction in strong manifestations can only be eliminated if other very significant factors intervene in our lives, without this, it will be difficult to change anything.
I am grateful that I am still given logic where what must be prioritized first and do not want to be destroyed stupidly. feeling destroyed not having anything shunned by the closest people is very miserable. and I do not want to repeat it again, this is a very strong experience lesson for me, so that it can be controlled. all people's paths to return to the way they used to be different, no one can understand. the sensation of gambling addiction is indeed very difficult to get healthy again, but if you want to try with confidence, you can make it back to the beginning. because I have certain reasons not wanting to bring a difficult family and envy stable neighbors

Actually not everyone can get out of gambling quickly but everything is possible in this world, so if you follow some things according to plan then you can quit gambling. Most people bet again after losing and as long as they have money. Again this is where most users get distracted in the recovery journey and go back to gambling. You need to control and keep track of how much money you lose and your addiction will decrease. But never gamble with a loan or you will face financial crisis. If you have extra money bet with it and always try to separate real funds from winnings.

Right, and maybe I will mention one of the reasons why not everyone can quit addiction quickly, the problem is that not everyone has the same mindset and also not everyone can quickly realize everything, different levels of addiction also affect the length of the healing process, simply put if the person is really obsessed with winning then it will definitely be very difficult for them to recover from addiction, so it depends on the person and the level of addiction.

On the other hand, I believe that the only thing that makes a gambler really difficult to stop is because they cannot let go or forgive the amount of defeat they have previously experienced, and this is the reason why we are always advised to gamble with small amounts, none other than to make it easier for us to forgive it if the results are really lost.

Almost all gamblers have problems with having full control of the budget for gambling because there always a time when things might not fall in the right way we have planned it and with no other choice than to compromise the plans we have for the allocated budget. Gambling is just like trading where a trader will keep trading to make enough profits and sometimes when loses appears, he would have to trade more so that he can cover io for the loses. We all want to make money but due to greed and other factors, we tend to become addicted to gambling which sometimes can be as easy as possible to stop compared to other types of addiction.

I gambled away a significant amount of money that was meant to pay off an important loan. On top of that, I borrowed more money and lost it again.

Here are a few strategies I found helpful in staying away from gambling all this time:
- Spending the money I earn on paying bills and expenses beside the friends I took loand from

Day by day, the desire to gamble is fading and I feel stronger in my journey.

I have quote only that part of your post on purpose. While you say you are in a process of recovery from gambling, could it be that you are only in a process of closing gambling debt? And you only feel relief because the size of the debt is decreasing. You think that you are recovering from gambling addiction, but when you have cleared your debt, it will trigger you to return? That when you will drop chains in a form of a debt, you will continue gambling as previously.

Quoting because I still wish to get a true answer from OP. Is it really a recovery, or your money problems are only getting solved with time and you simply return to what you were and what you were doing (but this time more experienced). Really wish to find out, when you repay all your debts and earn back all the money you have lost on that special day, how will you act. Will the addiction or passion to gambling returns, or you will stay cold to it?
The moment that you had been able to recover with gambling addiction then it is really that truly questionable whether you might be getting addicted on second time around or wont really be able to happen since you are already aware or simply experienced on what those things that might happen? It will really be basing up on someones personality since not all would really that be making up that final stand towards gambling activity. There's still chance on getting addicted once again at the moment that you have decided to play again despite of those past events or condition that you had. It cant be avoided that there will really be those times or moments that you will be thinking off confidently that you have overcome addiction then you will be able to do it again just incase if you will really be able to get addicted again.
When it comes to addiction then not all will really be able to successfully be able to get out with it and thats why we've seen those gamblers who do end up on sleeping on the streets because they cant be able to stop themselves on playing until they would be losing it all. There are those who do able to get out and easily recover just because of that self will and discipline. Each person does have that their own level of tolerance and control on the moment that they will really be on such condition. There are those who do able to get out and just like there's nothing happened but there are ones who cant be able to do so despite of having those other helps or professional advises or treatment.

I have felt that recovering from gambling addiction needs the realisation of how casinos make money from gamblers. Once you understand that you will abhor gambling and want to own a casino.

However I have never been addicted to gambling so I can't speak for them, it's just my personal opinion.

I am sure OP will be able to recover and make their money back if they keep their head straight.

- Spending the money I earn on paying bills and expenses beside the friends I took loand from, which brings me relief and a sense of control fighting the chaos gambling created in my life.

I focus on doing this to reduce my gambling activity, it is important to always think that there are bills and other things that are more important than spending money on gambling, unless all obligations have been fulfilled.

That said, I still remain in touch with the gambling field as part of my work and lifestyle which I genuinely enjoy. My deep knowledge of this field feels valuable to me and I choose not to let it go to waste. While this close connection between my healing process and working in the gambling industry is without actually gambling, doesn’t tempt me anymore. Day by day, the desire to gamble is fading and I feel stronger in my journey.

I would love to hear about your experiences if you faced addiction or any opinions, suggestions, or stories you like to share. Let’s support one another on this journey.

Warm regards,
GxSTxV
Since you're still in the gambling world, then you must always keep your distance and need someone else who can remind you when you start to get too deep into gambling.
But I want to congratulate you for being able to recover from your addiction.

First, please accept my respect for the fact that you are trying to overcome an addiction that is equivalent to a drug addiction on your own. As we know, there are no former drug addicts, and their self-healing almost always leads to the return of their addiction. But you are strong, and you can cope without specialists; this is worthy of respect. Since you were gambling in parallel with your immediate work, I can give you an example of a bartender. He has access to alcohol every day, and when they are hired, they are always tested for alcoholism, but people control themselves and do not become alcoholics in places where others regularly use alcohol. The same can happen to you. You are good at knowledge, but use it where it can be useful for others, and do not use it against yourself. The fact that you understand that you need to monitor your emotions is already a good basis for self-support. Do not give up.

We can only congratulate GxSTxV for beating final boss of gambling Cheesy He was gambling, lost, but understand that there is a problem and he should not continue, thus he has made a decision to change things and situation. That cost a lot. Does not matter if he has fully recovered or will return to gambling, the most important is that he isnt blind. He sees the problems, he makes something to solve it.

When I noticed I was having symptoms of addiction in gambling was even when I was not yet working, although I might yet be doing some side jobs then but I know that 80% of my responsibility was still on my guidance then. At some point I will begin to over think about my success in gambling but since I rounded up with my academic programs, started buy business and also got a job, I don't see gambling taking the best part of me, I am usually too busy with work or my business which doesn't give me the privilege to gamble even when I want to.
In general, being busy with work or business is great, because we are busy with something that brings in money. It is even better when we like what we do, after that you can generally play games relaxed, but do not forget that you need to stop in time. But if a player has a hard and low-paying job that he does not like, then a risk is created that when he comes to gambling, he will be extremely worried about money and this will definitely drive him crazy with several losses in a row. I think players also need to think about this, because it is important how we get money in real life.

I also was going to ask the op that same question. He said he had recovered from his gambling addiction. Probably he got to pay his dept and cover up all his losses that's what he meant or he just got to stop gambling. We can't really know what op meant unless he clarify with us here. It might be an easy task to work on many jobs to recover his lost money but then it will taking even longer to recover from his gambling addiction. Except he stays totally away from gambling which might be a bit difficult from the way I see it.

Dear Gambling Community
Warm regards,
GxSTxV

Well, I want to first congratulate you for being able to recover from the damage to your gambling activities almost cost you. I've seen a lot of gamblers that went down the trench immediately they lost control of their gambling habits. I guess it wasn't an easy journey for you considering you lost so much fund that were meant for some important aspects of your life.  Thanks for sharing your experience as well with the forum as it would serve as a lesson to some newbie gamblers who might think that they would be able to get rich through gambling or rather control their gambling habits. Gambling is addictive and the sooner or later you minimize the rate at which you gamble, the easier for you to know when you lost your self control...

Of course I also believe that the journey to recover from addiction is not easy, you really need a strong mentality to come to terms with the situation after you lose a large amount of money. Seeing the purpose of the story that OP conveyed, I think he really wants to make his experience a lesson and example for others, and that means he cares about the safety of others, especially gamblers who are currently trapped in the same problem, that means it is true that basically you don't have to experience a slump first to get better, there are always various things that you can use as lessons like what other people experience but it also depends on how you can see it because there are not a few people who don't care which one even though it can save them from a bigger disaster when they can learn from the experiences of others. So maybe this comes back to you, if for example you don't want to learn from other people's experiences then you have to be ready to experience it.
