Ok you are gambling just for fun, your friends and neighbors knows that and a friend invited you to his party to be one of the candidates as a councilor and campaign will start in 6 months, now, of course, you need to have a good reputation, will you stop gambling just to have a good image this coming campaign and how will you defend yourself if accused as a gambler.

It is no longer a question to us whether we will stop gambling because of our reputation at work, simply because of our hierarchical attitude, we are forced to be on professional news, which means that we keep our private things to ourselves if we plan for a normal future. Some will not get the opportunity to drop from the gambling pool, while some will not respect even though they have a higher function.

No, I won't stop gambling just to fake my own profile and personality. Also, 6 months is not enough to fake some characteristics in yourself, people can identify you. Casual gambling is not problem for me, I don't think it gives a bad reputation. Gambling can only become bad when it starts affecting important factors in your life. Huge debts, selling of properties, business closure, poor work performance and trouble in family due to gambling. These are perfect examples on how your reputation becomes bad due to gambling addiction.
Exactly, if you have no bad history due to gambling addiction, then that is not a big deal at all.
You can gamble anytime you want because smart voters will not look at what you do but the effect on what you are doing, that's how I understands it.

Well, actually, people would be eager to find out all this dirty stuff about you
You are correct about this. The las Vegas lifestyle is a high risk one and definitely something not to be at least proud of after a certain age. However gamblers are high risk takers so they would rather decide on what fun they would have and not the outcome. Because if they did think of the outcome they would not be gamblers at all

That's not the only issue or aspect

"Good" politicians, i.e. scheming, domineering, manipulative (think House of Cards here), cannot be gambling addicts or frequent visitors to Las Vegas, and not because they care for their reputation - they certainly do as reputation is everything here and elsewhere - but for the simple reason that what they are involved in (i.e. politics) is already a sort of gambling in its own right. I could go so far as to say that any hardened politician as in hardened criminal (actually, there is not much of a difference between the two) is a gambler deep inside but his "addiction" has nothing to do with casinos. His stakes are way higher and oftentimes affect whole nations or even the entire world (think Trump here)

For anybody who thinks their reputation might be getting a bit on the downtrend, its better to put a check on visits to your local slot games shop, but they can remain good with the online casinos. They provide privacy and this is one of the points that gives it an edge over the physical casinos.

In my region, there are politicians who are gamblers. Mostly on cockfighting so being a gambler doesn't mean you have power reputation on the community. It is on how you serve your constitutes even your a gambler. So for me, I would not stop gambling just to impress people that I am a reputable man and is worthy for their votes
and also how you showed people what kind of person you are even if you are playing gambling.people must realized that not all gamblers are bad person instead many gamblers are also Good human its just that they are enjoying or having luck in gambling thats why they are staying on it.
not unless the gambler is irresponsible person and  bringing wrong actions in hes family and community then thats a different thing.

If you are just about to run for a position, I think it will not be a good image to keep, people will not trust a gambler. There are a lot of politicians who gamble, but they are really silent about it. People will trust you less with power and money if they know you as a chronic gambler.

Is it a must to Gamble? Since you have the person is gambling just for fun,I think he/she should be able to forgo the gambling to get his/her position if that will be a counter to his getting there. Moreso, there are some gambling that are not really looking illegal, such as some online games and predictions.Note, In some countries, people don't bloody care about whether you are a gambler or not.

Yes if it is legal in the country and playing for fun then it would not be much problem that would be created because you are not even addicted and enjoy the game . On other hand if played in illegal conditions or addicted and lost lot of money then it is a issue.

Stopping gambling will not help you to have a good reputation. You are well known gambler already and why will you change yourself for the sake of the campaign.

If you are being trusted by people then you don't have to change from being a gambler to not a gambler anymore just for the sake of the campaign. Being a gambler is not a sin and a gambler can also be a politician too so no reason to stop gambling Cheesy.

Even if you stop for the campaign, your opponent will just use that to ruin your reputation, why not just become honest and admit that you are gambling but you are responsible, and you are gambling with money that you can afford to lose, your honesty will benefit you and voters like public official that is honest.

Agree, by admitting for what we have done, will give them the right thing, so they know that we play gambling for fun only. It's not been a problem because I am sure that people will select the candidates who will serious with the job and not because they are gambling or not. But some of them will judge and give a negative statement about us, and they will try to ruin our reputation. As long as we can prove to them that we are willing to work seriously, I think the negative statement will be gone later.

I don't want to be a TRAPO or what we called in the Philippines a Traditional Politician which fake everything just to gain the trust of the people.
Gambling is not illegal in my country but I understand that people will judge and they don't like a public servant that is a gambler but I will try to gamble running showing what I am doing because our current president is an honest person and still people love him that's why he won through land slide victory.

As long as I don't spend money for vote buying, I would not loss anything except my effort.

people maybe would appreciate me as its rare nowadays to find an honest politician.

Nothing to hide dude. If you are a gambler, then what is wrong with that unless you did illegal.
Building a good reputation is not all about a profession or we should not be a gambler but it should be how we do a good commitment to the community. Some people succeed in gambling and they have their names on top. But if you look bad with gambling and make a shame of that, then thas your opinion and I understand that.

I don't have to change myself just to look good for others even if I have to put a good reputation. As what you've said, you only gamble for fun. So what's wrong about it? If you know in yourself that you can control yourself and you don't have bad habits when gambling, you don't have to change. But if you know you're gambling too much and it can give a negative impression to people, then change it. Change what you think is wrong, because you know it's wrong. Don't change just because of what others will say.

In my own personal opinion, if i am just playing gambling just for fun or just to hang out with my friends, i think i don't need to make any good reputation when i am one of the candidates as a councilor because every person has their own vices and people will not base on that kind character if i will just gamble for fun.

Playing gambling doesnt affect your reputation most of the time as long they wont able to see you out on a difficult situation because of it.

If you're hesitant or in doubt that they would have that bad view to you then its better to stop but the truth it wouldnt really that matter because
people would just give out their compliments and criticism basing on what you have done to the community.

Are you talking about online gambling or the actual one in casino? if it is the actual one, then you really need to stop for the sake of your career as a politician, and of course for you to get the hearts of the people in your town.

and how will you defend yourself if accused as a gambler.

Denying it would just make thing worst, especially if they have evidence that you are really playing gambling before, what you need to do is to confess the truth and make a promise to the public that you'll change for good, just to clean your mess. It is more better if you're going to win without any secrets, even if you lose, at least you'll going to have your time to do what you promised and run again as a candidate for councilor next election.
