And France take Gold, Fiji take Silver and South Africa take Bronze. As I mentioned France
for me were the dark horses for Gold and they beat Fiji well, final score 28-7.

South Africa v Australia - great match in the semi finals but SA win with 1 try and conversion.
26-19.

Its the womens turn starting today and if the world series is anything to go by we
could be looking at an Australia v New Zealand but there is a lot to play first. Again
France Women will be looking to do what the Men did!

First round of matches today:
Ireland v Great Britain - tough one to call, will be very close.
Australia v South Africa - Australia all the way
USA v Japan - USA for the win
France v Brazil - France for the win
Fiji v Canada - Very close one here too
New Zealand v China - NZ for the win.

Watched a dair few matches today, definitely New Zealand, Australia and France
looked really strong.

In the five matches, I'm going with New Zealand over Argentina (in a very close game). Ireland (of course) over the USA. France over RSA (only just). Australia over Fiji (only just). Uruguay ($1.08 - shortest odds today) over Japan. Samoa over Kenya.

In the NRL - as I forecast the Bulldogs and Roosters won while the Sharks lost to the Cowboys (four from five this week so far)

Well its all going to be done and dusted today, a very busy schedule in the mens tournament
ahead. Its indeed hard to see anyone beating Fiji but France are the dark horses IMO.
They have been targeting this since the start of the season, even bringing Antoine Dupont
into the team.

Semi finals:
South Africa v France - I'm going with France here.
Fiji v Australia - I'm going Fiji on this match - sorry Timelord.

Ireland play USA for the 5th spot position - bet on for an Irish win.

The short money is in Fiji, followed by France, $7 NZ and at $8 Australia.

Might have to put some money on the final now.

After three games a piece, New Zealand, Australia and Fiji are top of their respective group tables on 9 points. Argentina and Ireland follow closely on 7 points, then USA and host nation France on 6 points. (And Australia has won their match against the USA 18 - 0).

Australia going very well Timelord, kind of flying under the radar.

Big disappointment for Ireland last night and some controversy too, the Fijian
kick off after their second try was a clear knock on, then gathered by Nacuqu of
Fiji to score a third try which essentially knocked us out.

Anyway all 4 teams left, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and France are real strong
contenders, hard to say who will get Gold really.

In the Australian NRL, the NZ Warriors face off against the West's Tigers at home in Auckland. It should be a formality for the Warriors and the $1.26/$3.90 pfices.

In tonight's other game, Parramatta and Melbourne do battle $7/$1.10

Tomorrow, Brisbane and Cronulla do battle. I'm going with the under bulldogs ($1.33/$3.35).
Later, Townsville and Cronulla clash. I'm going with the Shark ($1.70/$2.15)
Later still sees the more favoured Roosters and Sea Eagles facing off ($1.38/$3.10)

Sunday in the mid afternoon game, the Panthers should maul the Dragons. ($4/$1.25)
The late afternoon game will see the Dolphins go for a swim in the Gold Coast ($1.52/$2.55)
Lastly in Sunday Canberra will skin the Rabbitohs ($1.62/$2.30)

Last night, the NRLW season kicked if with Newcastle Maidens fending off the Sydney Hens who missed a late game conversion which would have put the game into golden point

The women's three pools haven't started (I got caught out think erroneously that the matches would start *after* the opening ceremony) Group B will be tough games by all four teams. Group A will see NZ and Fiji dominate while in Group C it's harder to say who the stand out team will be given the calibre of the four teams.

Australia won their first two games at the Paris Olympics - soon, they face off against? Argentina who are tipped to take the gold medal.

Thats a massive match coming up for Australia, its going to be tough with
Argentina big favourites @ 1.26.

The other big matches of today is Ireland v New Zealand - Ireland favourite @ 1.55,
thats another tough one to call

as is Fiji v France, Fiji @ 1.51. They have looked quite good yesterday but played
USA and Uruguay, France will be a tougher ask.

New Zealand v Japan

Australia v Kenya
Argentina v Samoa

Timelord were you watching the Queensland Reds v Wales by any chance?

By the scoreboard it looks to have been a fantastic one, Queensland Reds 35
- 36 Wales! a last minute try for Wales!

Georgia put up a good fight but it was always going to be difficult to beat
Australia, final score 40-29.

Ive done two bets on points total for both Uruguay v Argentina and Japan v Italy.
I recon both visitors will win but the odds aren't great.

I'm going with both the Tigers and Knights - the Tigers have had moments of good game play and hopefully tonight they'll get the job done. The Broncos players who participated in the third game of the State of Origin played a very luckless game and I feel they won't be able to regroup this week. (Broncos have had six straight losses, but their key players might be coming back from injury too soon).

The Raiders remain in 11 th while the Raiders in 12 th.

Tonight in the Internationals, very short odds (=<$1.10)

NZ vs Fiji ($11)
Australia (with a few debutantes) Vs Georgia ($6.50)
South Africa Vs Portugal ($34)
Chile ($64) Vs Scotland
Uruguay ($13) Vs Argentina ($1.01)

Japan ($3) Vs Italy ($1.36)

*Edit*

After 33 minutes Georgia has just scored a try under the goal posts to make the score 19 - 8 in favour of Australia.

Georgia we're off to a shaky start, but are gaining ground...

And it's now 19 - 10 in favour of Australia

My money tonight is on the Warriors, but unsurprisingly, they are trailing the Raiders 14 - 10 after 55 minutes.

Interestingly during the State of Origin two nights ago the computer systems crashed which was being commentated on by the ABC Aust radio coverage. Now two days later, globally there are computer outrages.

Warriors lost by 2 points, that was close. They scored 4 trys to the Raiders 3 but their kicking for conversions
was lacking with only 1 from 4 - thats poor and would have won them the match if they had taken them.

Next up the battle of the bottom of the ladder - Rabbitohs v Wests Tigers - Rabbitohs favourite at 1.65
followed by Newcastle Knights v Brisbane Broncos - Broncos are favourite at 1.56 but it could go either way with
the performances of both really.

Storm v Roosters is going to be a close one I suspect, only 2 match wins separate the two, you would have to
fancy Storm at 2.10 - Roosters are favourite though at 1.69, whats that about?

Summer Internationals - Week 4

Queensland Reds v Wales - Good chance for the local club side to take a big scalp, Wales have
yet to find some form, have lost their two previous matches against Australia.

New Zealand v Fiji - Home win

Australia v Georgia - Home win

South Africa v Portugal - Home win

Uruguay v Argentina - Argentina should win this

Chile v Scotland - Scotland win here too

Japan v Italy - Very interesting match up here, I think Italy could win this, I was a bit shocked
that Georgia managed to beat Japan last week.

Plenty of Rugby International fixtures occurring - a comprehensive list can be found here https://www.rugby.com.au/fixtures-results?team=All&comp=All&tab=Fixtures and here https://www.world.rugby/tournaments/fixtures-results and also here https://www.planetrugby.com/news/rugby-internationals-the-complete-june-july-fixture-list-including-dates-venues-and-match-officials

Scores can be found via the BBC website https://www.bbc.com/sport/rugby-union/international-match/scores-fixtures

Scores overnight

New Zealand 24 England 17
Australia 36 Wales 28
South Africa 24 Ireland 25
Argentina 33 France 25

Also overnight, the NRL Broncos suffered their sixth straight loss - this week to the Dragons who moved up to eight while the Broncos slide to thirteenth tieing with the Titans and Rabbitohs (followed by only the Eels and West Tigers)

Today, the Sea Eagles are probably going to go down to the Knights.

Great win by Ireland, Drop goal in the last play of the match. Great close contest.
4.2 odds on Ireland was a great reward! but through the second half I thought Ireland
were not going to do it, giving away too many penalties and picking up a yellow card.

Also great for Italy to beat Tonga and Argentina to beat France in their second
meeting. Georgia too beat Japan, TBH I thought Japan would win that.

The Dolphins have already scored and converted in under eight minutes of game play.

The outgoing coach will take the helm at the Rabbitohs next year, but they are already getting a lesson they won't readily forget.

*Edit* As forecast earlier, the Rabbitohs matched the Dolphins with six tries a piece, however, the Dolphin's goal kicker scored six from six while four from six goals attempted by the Rabbitohs were missed.

Tomorrow, the Sharks take on the Tigers in the shortened round.

Second edit

58 - 06 (guess who lost?) Even the ABC Aust radio commentators are asking why the bottom four are in the competition... 🧐🤔🙄

Tonight, Australia and Wales go head to head in Melbourne.

Scotland definitely showed the canacks a thing or two - as did the French. I'm surprised Argentina didn't have a closer score and not so surprised the English score was almost level with the Kiwis.

Ah Canada would be classed as a second tier team and wouldnt be expected normally to beat
the likes of Scotland but the scoreline is massive, something we wouldnt see regularly.

Argentina to beat France was always going to be a big ask, not impossible though.

Week 3 starts tomorrow Wednesday with

Uruguay v France - there is only going one way

Friday

Tonga v Italy - Italy really need to be winning this one

USA v Scotland - I suspect another big winning margin, but probably not as big as 60 points

Saturday

Replay - New Zealand v England - second bit of the cherry, I think NZ will win again

Replay - Australia v Wales - Wallabies win again

Japan v Georgia - cant see odds on this one but for spectators it could be a close one

Replay - South Africa v Ireland - There could be an upset here but odds suggest otherwise
SA 1.26 - 4.2 Ireland [worth a shot on Ireland]

Replay - Argentina v France - Odds are 1.84 v 2.38 - this could be a closer one, Argentina could win it.
