Plenty of Rugby International fixtures occurring - a comprehensive list can be found here https://www.rugby.com.au/fixtures-results?team=All&comp=All&tab=Fixtures and here https://www.world.rugby/tournaments/fixtures-results and also here https://www.planetrugby.com/news/rugby-internationals-the-complete-june-july-fixture-list-including-dates-venues-and-match-officials

Scores can be found via the BBC website https://www.bbc.com/sport/rugby-union/international-match/scores-fixtures

Scores overnight

New Zealand 24 England 17
Australia 36 Wales 28
South Africa 24 Ireland 25
Argentina 33 France 25

Also overnight, the NRL Broncos suffered their sixth straight loss - this week to the Dragons who moved up to eight while the Broncos slide to thirteenth tieing with the Titans and Rabbitohs (followed by only the Eels and West Tigers)

Today, the Sea Eagles are probably going to go down to the Knights.

Great win by Ireland, Drop goal in the last play of the match. Great close contest.
4.2 odds on Ireland was a great reward! but through the second half I thought Ireland
were not going to do it, giving away too many penalties and picking up a yellow card.

Also great for Italy to beat Tonga and Argentina to beat France in their second
meeting. Georgia too beat Japan, TBH I thought Japan would win that.

The Dolphins have already scored and converted in under eight minutes of game play.

The outgoing coach will take the helm at the Rabbitohs next year, but they are already getting a lesson they won't readily forget.

*Edit* As forecast earlier, the Rabbitohs matched the Dolphins with six tries a piece, however, the Dolphin's goal kicker scored six from six while four from six goals attempted by the Rabbitohs were missed.

Tomorrow, the Sharks take on the Tigers in the shortened round.

Second edit

58 - 06 (guess who lost?) Even the ABC Aust radio commentators are asking why the bottom four are in the competition... 🧐🤔🙄

Tonight, Australia and Wales go head to head in Melbourne.

Scotland definitely showed the canacks a thing or two - as did the French. I'm surprised Argentina didn't have a closer score and not so surprised the English score was almost level with the Kiwis.

Ah Canada would be classed as a second tier team and wouldnt be expected normally to beat
the likes of Scotland but the scoreline is massive, something we wouldnt see regularly.

Argentina to beat France was always going to be a big ask, not impossible though.

Week 3 starts tomorrow Wednesday with

Uruguay v France - there is only going one way

Friday

Tonga v Italy - Italy really need to be winning this one

USA v Scotland - I suspect another big winning margin, but probably not as big as 60 points

Saturday

Replay - New Zealand v England - second bit of the cherry, I think NZ will win again

Replay - Australia v Wales - Wallabies win again

Japan v Georgia - cant see odds on this one but for spectators it could be a close one

Replay - South Africa v Ireland - There could be an upset here but odds suggest otherwise
SA 1.26 - 4.2 Ireland [worth a shot on Ireland]

Replay - Argentina v France - Odds are 1.84 v 2.38 - this could be a closer one, Argentina could win it.

Results from yesterdays summer Rugby Union internationals:

Samoa 33 - 25 Italy
New Zealand 16 - 15 England
Australia 25 - 16 Wales
South Africa 27 - 20 Ireland
Argentina 13 - 28 France
Canada 12 - 73 Scotland

The results went as we predicted except I thought Canada might have been
favourite but I doubt it looking at that score Scotland put up!

Week 3 coming up in a couple of days with Uruguay, the USA and Georgia getting a match.

I caught the second half of last night's game between the Sharks and Titans. The Titans got ahead in the low scoring game and in the last twenty minutes, the Sharks staged a comeback, but it was a case of too little, too late.

Following on, I saw the first twenty minutes of the Panthers vs Broncos games. The Panthers scored in the first five minutes and although they never converted kept ahead.

Tonight saw two games decided in golden point (Bulldogs and Sea Eagles (off the boot of their captain who is also Qlds State of Origin Captain).

The Storm hit hard with 40 points, however, the Tigers still managed to chalk up 28 points in reply.

Tomorrow, I expect the Roosters and Knights to win their respective games.

The Rabbitohs won as expected - they now have five wins in a row and there is a buzz by commentators that they could break into the top eight with another win.

https://www.nrl.com/ladder?competition=111&round=18&season=2024

Broncos, Knights, Raiders and Rabbitohs are sitting on 18 points, Sea Eagles on 19, then in the top eight Bulldogs, Cowboys and Dragons on 20 points so there's not much in the sixth to thirteenth places.

My pics tonight are the Sharks and Panthers over the Titans and Broncos. (It's been confirmed Adam Reynolds is out until at least round 23, so the Broncos are knobbled this year).

One match today in the NRL between the Eels and Rabbitohs, unbelievable to think both of these
two teams are still stuck at the bottom of the ladder with only 9 rounds to play before the finals.

Broncos have a tough draw against the Panthers in 1st place on the ladder.

Union - Summer Internationals - Week 2

Samoa v Italy - No odds available - Hard to know who would be favourite here.

New Zealand v England - NZ 1.18

Australia v Wales - AUS 1.14

South Africa v Ireland - SA 1.35

Argentina v France - ARG 1.52 - I'm surprised to see Argentina as favourite

Canada v Scotland - No odds available - I wouldnt expect Canada to be favourite.

Toulouse had a great practice session with their drinking buddies over in Bordeaux - when's the Grand final going to happen?

😜

I am so glad I never had money on the Broncos - their mid season hoo-doo is on again...

The Warriors like the Knights gave their opponents a lesson they'll rue for a while. (The Eels had too many fumbles)

Right now, Melbourne and Canberra are scoreless after twenty-five minutes (just one cut around the eye the only thing of note in this game)

*Edit*

Melbourne came through after all unlike the Dolphins and Panthers (who are trailing in their game at the moment). At this rate, the Tigers will come through) 🙄🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeh a great win for the Queensland women. I heard the last ten minutes of the game on the radio, and the crowd cheering in the deep north of the State was definitely off of the scale.

In an hour there will be a clash between the Broncos and Warriors who are looking to restart their fortunes. I'm leaning towards the Broncos. Later, the Knights should slay the Eels. Then tonight's main game, the Storm should repel the Raiders.

WTF is up with the Broncos? they shouldnt be beaten by the Warriors.

Yesterdays Top14 French league final turned out to be a bit of a Turkey shoot!
It wasnt even a close contest.

Toulouse 59 - 3 Bordeaux Begeles

Thats a fairly disappointing turn out from Bordeaux in a final. It would be hard
to play against Toulouse at the best of times, they command a very strong
team with many French international players including Antoine Dupont
who scored 2 trys himself.

By half time, the New South Wales team had chalked up the highest leed in the game's 40 plus years.

In the second half, they scored first before Queensland attempted a comeback scoring three quick tries, but to no avail.

With the series locked at one game a piece, the final will be played in Brisbane hopefully giving the Queensland team a home advantage.

Well done the Queensland women for winning that third match sand the series, now can the man do
the same in 2 weeks time?

Tonight, the Bulldogs edged out the Sharks with a golden point field goal to win 15 - 14 (it's probably just as well I didn't have any money on the game - I would have gone with the Sharks Inspite my saying early in the season the Bulldogs had a strong start to the season).

Yea, I'll bet the Sharks were favourite for sure, well done to the Bulldogs, they are in great shape
in the top 8 ATM, this time last year they were third from the bottom!

TOP 14 French Final

Tonight is the grand final of the Top 14 France's premier Club Rugby league I see Timelord you have
gone with Toulouse over Bordeaux, good choice on the favourites, I think they will win for sure.
It will be an absolute dream season for them after winning the Champions cup already this year.

In the meantime, I'm going with Toulouse against Bordeaux ($ 3.90)

Tomorrow night is game two of the men's NRL State of Origin Series. (Queensland to win undoubtedly) 😁

All to play for, which is great for the game I suppose. It could go either way as
is reflected in the odds 1.95 each!

The first weekend of July sees three International Rugby Games with New Zealand, Australia and R-South Africa likely to win against England ($ 5.50), Wales ($ 4.80) and Ireland ($ 2.65) - sorry @aoluain 🤯

No need to be sorry...just dont do it again 🤣

TBH its probably they way to go, South Africa on home ground will be
very hard to beat. Ireland are travelling with a full A squad with 3 new uncapped
players.

Last weekend it was wins as expected by England, South Africa and the
Barbarians.

Silly me - I picked the Raiders who were mauled by the Tigers. The crowed as a whole cheated on the Tigers. Then midway through the second half when Canberra rallied, the crowd as one fell silent only to start booking ten minutes later whenever the Raiders looked like scoring.

There were plenty of disallowed tries and one player sent off.

The Tigers now move off the bottom of the rung sending the Eels to the ocean floor.

And in the final of the United Rugby Championship it was Glasgow warriors who
came out on top! FINALLY

Vodacom Bulls 16 - 21 Glasgow Warriors

TBH its not what I was expecting and not where my money would have gone.
Glasgow's defense was brilliant, only letting in one try while scoring and converting
3 themselves.

They deserve it, they have been knocking on the door since the "Celtic League"

The Super Rugby Pacific Grand final occured last night - the Blues beat Waikato last night in their final showdown relegating The Chiefs to second for the second year in a row. From all accounts it was a good game but the scores were some thirty points difference.

... Unlike the Titans 66 - 6 win over the Warriors setting new statistics records such as the highest winning margin by Gold Coast.

The Dolphins were level at 18 - 18 against the Storm, but in the end, Melbourne edged ahead to win by six at 30 - 24

The other two games saw the Roosters beat the Bulldogs while the Rabbitohs beat the Sea Eagles (a key win for Souths)

This afternoon, the belugured Tigers stare down Canberra
