Ebay listing number 291654581974 ? I'm not sure whose listing that is. I didn't have any big batches ship to a guy in Virginia.

Also there are several untruths present in the listing. No Compac has yet been made with salvage chips; all of mine and MacEntyre's were made with new ASICs purchased directly from Bitmain. Nobody has reported hashing at 36GH/s with a Compac; that would require being able to run at 650MHz and I don't know of a stick that's yet hit 500MHz - not even Max. Also the entire paragraph "This means you can mine with MORE HASHING POWER than any AntMiner widely available as ENERGY USAGE is factored into account.  This means you can mine silently and profitable for long after those big Mining Rigs shut down because of their huge electricity bills" is somewhere between misleading and outright lying. "Homemade" is also a bit of an insult. Also, to get 16-21GH by definition requires tweaking and overclocking - unless this seller is doling them out preset at a ridiculously high voltage, which kills any efficiency claim or ability to run on stock USB power.

With that much markup, it's probably a reseller from a reseller. Course that does include shipping and, apparently, a Y adapter.

If he hadn't sold almost all of them already I'd have put an offer in of like 20 bucks Smiley

edit: and I *know* I've seen this picture from one of our users here on bitcointalk (AJRGale).  So either the seller stole the image - or its AJR (I assume its a stolen image)

I'm gonna go ahead and reopen sales for the next batch. I wanted to give a bit of time for bulk customers to line themselves up - which almost worked, but it's a you-snooze-you-lose which means you only keep your place in line by paying up. It looks like we're committed to building 750 more with pulled ASICs. At least that's how many heatsinks and PCBs we have coming in, and I have enough ASICs lined up to do it.

Now, please note again that we are using pulled chips. What this means is, the ASICs will likely have been taken from a nonfunctional S5 board. I'll probably be expanding the testing procedures to make sure sticks are stable. I've also made a few small changes to the PCB (these are V0.6 instead of V0.5) which should aid in assembly and overall reliability. The warranty will be no less on these than on the original Compacs - if you get one that doesn't work, send it in and I'll repair or replace it. If it doesn't work because of something you did (like insane overclocking or hacked-up heatsinking causing physical damage) I won't fix it for free but I'll still fix it if you want.

PCBs and heatsinks have been ordered. I expect to receive them in the first week of February. I'll have at least one bulk customer to satisfy before getting to small orders, but assembly should go a lot faster this time around than last time. As of right now, orders would be expected to ship around the middle of February.

So, the Compac Run 2 queue is open. All prices are the same.

Hum I had to change pool from solo to de and now I get soem error on my stick.

I get reset error(0) LIBUSB_SUCESS and cant hash?

Any suggestion ?

unplug it and plug it back in

hmmmm....i had that error also...hmmmm......3 sidehack usb sticks...they can't all be bad right?

may have to re-look at hub issues etc etc

assuming this poster is correct on the fix ?

others? agree/disagree...... would explain a lot if it is hardware or hub (so lost) Smiley

edit: assuming the above is my problem .....compaq evo n800v laptop ports (even with 2 to 1 port cable adapter) and also the orico 2.0 usb hub someone on one of the threads
said DOES NOT WORK on the sidehack gekko usb 8gh sticks....

anyway looking for more info to punt (have a usb voltage tester coming to test the orico 10 port usb 2.0 hub) ...anyway ASSUMING this is part of my install issues

how does this look for a hub (need 10 port hub...have 3 sticks so need a bit of space between usb ports  for airflow imho)

ideally...anyone using this 10 port version or can point me to another powered hub..where it is UNLIKELY that it will be an issue with the gekko sticks?

just trying to eliminate some possibilities on why I'm having such issues...I have a hard time believing all 3 of my gh gekko miners are broke Smiley

anyway ...thoughts on approprate hubs?

make sure your hub is not USB 3.0 as that causes problems with miners...

well hell....i am not getting conflicting advice...folk from this thread say to USE 3.0 usb hubs ....

one guy has a product he has working with his sticks usb 3.0 etc......probably should just get that

side issue....will an OLD 2.0 usb on a laptop I want to use for this to a 3.0 usb hub make any diff ...or do i need a 3.0 usb old laptop to match

thoughts......probably should say the hell with it and build it with a raspberry PI etc and the guys hub he says works with such....) but anyway still stuff to know/do and fret over Smiley

USB3 have been ok for me. I just make sure they go through a USB2 hub before connecting to a USB2 port on the host.

OK ....this quote above completely lost me ( I mean i work with developmentally disabled folk...how did I get dragged into this techy wonderland? So fish out of water) Smiley

both are good quotes.

usb3 alone to your pc or rasp pi    does not work well   = true

usb3 to usb2 to your pc or rasp pi does work well = true

why are these true?  in the first case the rasp pi sees the usb3 and says fuck you I am a picky mofo

in the second case the rasp pi sees a usb 2 hub  that hides the usb 3 hub for it so the rasp pi goes "du ta dut" and works

why go the usb 3 then  usb 2 then rasp pi route.

simple reason the usb3 has more juice per port.

So if you buy a cheap usb2 like this one

http://www.ebay.com/itm/7-Port-USB-2-0-HUB-Splitter-15W-Power-Adapter-2V-3A-output-for-Laptop-PC-Windows-/351517022097?

go rasp pi the one above then your usb3 hub it should work.

They are running at 150 default, on Minera with custom cgminer-gekko installed on a raspberry pi B. Repurposed the U3 12volt pwr brick to run the hub. I got my hub from Buy-A-Hash over a year ago, it looks very much like the Sipolar but I don't know if it is the same or not. Ali express used to have several versions listed that all looked the same but....whoknows.

I'd be very interested to know at which freq and VCORE you manage to run 10 sticks on this hub.

It looks like the 10 ports sipolar one.

Clueless!
You know, there's plenty of good hub and setup advice in the support thread.

yeah I put up some of them.....they did not work for long.....the orico hub that 'supposedly' works posted there did not do so (some maybe not me) and a few others

I'll move my questions there or ask for PM advice ...thanks will move the 'clutter' there

started the question here on the below post here....this is a "You got to get a better hub error for your old ass low power usb 2.0 junk laptop"

I assume that is the case with my problems if the below is correct (was told on another thread..I hop all over the place)

Hum I had to change pool from solo to de and now I get soem error on my stick.

I get reset error(0) LIBUSB_SUCESS and cant hash?

Any suggestion ?

anyway moving on now..but where I was coming from on the above posts...probably should just put a PI up with the guy who has the model he stated 3.0 usb hub that works

thanks for the support ... PM me if any issues or the above is NOT a hub only issue anyone..but what I'm going with now from the previous posts help and PM's

Edit:- To clarify the above.
1. Place miner stick in USB3 "powered hub"
2. connect cable into USB2 "un-powered hub"
3. connect this usb to your USB2 port on PC
4. With a PI "Forget the above" and look for a USB2 "Powered Hub"

It works fine for me;
http://www.amazon.com/TeckNet%C2%AE-USB3-0-Adapter-Chipset-Warranty/dp/B00DCO9YVM

It powers the miner and pretty much all my computer USB stuff is plugged there except my mouse and keyboards.
I'm on W7 however, maybe its different for different OS'es.

USB3 and RPI have issues...

I have 6 sticks running at 300Mhs on Usb3 hubs on a gigabyte Brix.

And this is not the support thread anyway Smiley
