There are ongoing fights in Kursk, it seems Ukraine is managing to get a few settlements. I guess Branko will argue in the future that Ukraine attacked Ruzzia Tongue

President Biden today said he believes Putin has made the decision to invade and will start an invasion in the coming days.

I have to admit that i didn't realize that UA would hand over key towns in Donbas for the scale of this operation in Kursk, thus things are slower than I expected. But lets look at the progress in last 5 days. You tell me, does this look like UA is advancing or retreating?

There is significant expansion in the Kursk area. Not as fast as the first 1000 km2, but that would be impossible. However, mid-size settlements are being taken and the south of the Seim is cracking under the pressure. I expect a relevant change along the next two weeks in the area.

The fuel storage facility I mentioned a couple of posts ago is burning for the 9th day. Having such a expensive facility unprotected from even relatively cheap drone attacks shows that Ruzzia is well battered. The strategy of systematically hitting air defences during the last two months has worked well for Ukraine.

And now, to the ideology that pops-out every time there's an Ukrainian advance.

Relatively quite in most areas including the Russian footholds in Karkiv, in Zapherozia, and in Kherson.

Russians are making increasingly significant gains in the South Central part of Donesk oblast in part because the 2nd tier Ukroids who were not solid enough to be used in Kursk are simply evacuating without fighting.

Whether Kursk was a trap or not, the results for Ukraine are inline with what one would expect considering the air superiority situation; heavy losses of manpower and material with little or no gain to show for it, and no realistic medium term hope...except perhaps to be encircled and taken prisoner.
