some rumors going on twitter.

From the next year, we may have a Saudi Champions League, with the team excluded or eliminated from the UEFA champions league.

News in progress.

If this really happens then we see that money has been working well  Cheesy it's not easy to run competitions like this outside of Europe
What I'm worried about this competition will beat the prestige of the Asian Champions League, I don't know if we need a competition like this

If the news turns out to be true. So I think that's the best thing I know here today about the progress of the football competition in this middle eastern country. I hope if you find any other news about this then you can come back to share it here. because I think I and the others here must be curious about this news. Because I personally haven't found any news about this.

This is only a rumor the accuracy is very low even if this is carried out independent by the Saudi we don't know the enthusiasts.

I don't know if this is news and is also a good step or vice versa.
Good for Saudi Champion League and not for teams from UEFA Champion League and or vice versa, and I think this is an ambitious project from UEFA and the Arab League but its success is still in doubt, because of course the teams from the Arab League will find it very difficult to compete with teams from Europe, this is almost the same as the World Cup where only a few teams from Asia appear impressive but it will be difficult to move very far, and if that happens, in the end, the list of winners in Saudi Champions League is a team from UEFA, and the match will not be interesting to watch so the income will not be big.
If this rumor is true it might be a good thing but it could also be a bad thing.
The good thing is that there is still another chance for a team that can't get the UEFA Champions League trophy but can fight for the Saudi Champions League trophy.
It's just that I actually have the thought behind that these two Leagues might have some debates and disputes in the future.

But whatever it is, if it can boost the development of football, surely we will all support and agree with it.

The league can attract young players from leagues in developing nations. Some African and South American young players would find the Saudi Arabia league profitable because of the pay. An average player in Saudi Pro League earns more than some top players in some leagues. But the league can attract quality young players because they have big dreams and aspirations to win trophies in Europe. It is amazing to see that many of these veterans are not considering the US Super League like before. It was common to see players moving to the US soccer league before. But it seems the focus now is on the Saudi league. The move of Messi to the Major League might lure more players to the US. Some of these Saudi Billionaires may start running a network of clubs in Europe and the Middle East where players would be easily transferred from one club to another with less restriction.
As of now, their main attention is bringing big stars and highlight this league around the world with their own influence and money but if they try on other way like have youngsters from different regions and also create academies then surely this will also give them good intention and profit as well but who cares with they already have enough funds just because of oil, and they are using shorter way for this all which is also good for them, but this also needs huge funds as well.

Few clubs already have Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo and few are also in contacts for few more big names even things are not easy due to domestic rules and lifestyle but still we can hope they will be in business and also try to have good intention for the next world cup as well.

Saudi Arabia clubs spent more money for super star players than Quatar clubs or Chinese clubs spent in the past. The league successfully attracted super star players like Cristiano and Benzema to join them. They are players who won Ballon d'Or and had seasons to stand at top of the global football. Quatar in the past only was able to attract star players like Xavi, Canavaro etc.

Two leagues are at different levels if we simply look at their achievements to sign with star and super star players.
Before Saudi Pro League teams spent much money for signing star player have did early by Chinese Super League teams and they pay bigger salary for many star player from European teams. But difference with Chinese Primer League teams because Saudi Pro League teams pay more higher salary until with how much money get by Karim Benzema over 200 million euro each season. Brings player have won Ballon d'Or its not really bad for Saudi Pro League team but most of them have been over age but will make their competition keep exciting for few years later.

Saudi Arabia has planning become host FIFA World Cup 2030 and seems they want invest more with their teams football and bring star player make them easy later how to be host country for FIFA World Cup.

The aim of the Saudis will not be to make the league the most competitive, they need the attention from people I think as a country and football is a way for them to achieve it, that is why they are going after old players who they know people already like. It will be difficult for any league to match the competition in the english premier league, even other leagues that have known players has not been on the same competition level with the premier league, so this cannot be the goal of Saudia Arabia. Saudi Arabia have plans to host the world cup sometime in the future like Qatar did, they are doing all this to make their bid easier later.
Back to the main target from saudi to host 2030 world cup. That's why saudi was going so crazy in bringing so many great players to the club. it's caused by these players will help saudi to convince FIFA to give saudi a trust to be a host for 2030 world cup. I think that it's not a problem while at the same time saudi was increasing the popularity from its league as well. I hope that will come true.
It will be really hurt if saudi will not become a host for 2030 world cup. It's caused by billions of money already spent for that but i don't think saudi will care so much about that caused by that oil's money.
Recently we have good positive changes in this region with the UAE is doing amazing stuff for their positive reputation and Qatar's success in FIFA World Cup bring many opportunities for few countries in this region to have stuff like this even it's never been easy but as they have money and influence things can change for them right now Saudi targeting FIFA World Cup 2030 but most chances it's not going to happen for them but still if they will work with this momentum then surely things could be good for them in near future because recently they are investing huge funds for the development of sports and having good structure as well.

I believe players influence are not going to help them but their strong domestic setup and quality surely going to help them for having chances of big events in this country with most chances we can expect 2034 or 2038 world cup in this region again.

The best place for retirement. That's what i call this place is right now. It's caused by saudi clubs are always offering big amounts of money for any players who will be interesting to play in the SPL. It's caused by the main target has not yet reached. It may be different once saudi will be successfully chosen to host 2030 world cup. i don't even think saudi will have very big ambition to sign so many players with big salaries. The young players are always willing to dig their potential by playing in the EU league even longer.
They were only using this as a place to retire caused by they will not able to get a lot of money with remaining time on his career. I think that was the best reason to explain why some big players are coming here.
It is nothing wrong from those super star players and they have abundant professionality to contribute their bests for clubs they are playing in. The fact is they joined the league in Middle East at ending years in their careers but their performance would be among tops of the league. Like Cristiano, only joined the league since a second half of season but he managed to scored many goals. I feel that in a new season, he will be able to compete seriously for a best scorer title with Benzema.

Well this league for me is for veterans. All of the people that want to retire go here to earn a few extra bucks because they give the most. But no young player wants to come here to progress in football because the league dosent have quality but i wouldnt be shocked if they paid uefa to join the european championships. But still if they continue like this it will be in the top 10 leagues

There's no need to become as good as european league. SPL wants only to increase its engagement with all of footballers fans in the world. This will help SPL to get more considerations from all of major investors in the football too.
American and chinese investors are not as crazy as arabian investors. As you can see that even MU will be acquired by qatari investors as well.

Buying a set is a different matter.

LOL.. don't be too sure. China and the US also did the same. But they though that if they bring 1-2 star players per team, then the quality would automatically improve. The SPL clubs are not doing that. They are revamping their entire squads and at the same time they are hiring the best possible non-playing staff from around the world. And regarding popularity, the viewer numbers have already hit a record for the Saudi Professional League, and next year promises to be even bigger, with addition of players like Benzema and N'Golo Kanté.

These are my thoughts and I still think it will be like this.
They are so popular because we are in the transfer season right now.
How many people here watch the SPL league? I haven't watched it even once.

Even the best Arab players will want an opportunity to play in Europe. Nothing has really changes in the Saudi league.
I respect what they are trying to build and I hope they build a league that will captivate the whole world but for now I don't think there have been a significant change. Bringing in stars that are at the eclipse of their career isn't a new thing. America does it, Japan does it, China did it. In fact, China succeeded in persuading some young players like Oscar, Bakambu, Carrasco to join them in their league.
Building a league that can rival Europe wont take a couple of years, it will take time. And it has to be more than just the Saudi league, it has to be the whole Asian football. The can have at least 10 leagues that are very competitive just like Europe has its own top 5 leagues.
Maybe the Arab league is popular since Ronaldo joined there.  before that no one even discussed it here. Ronaldo popularity can raise the Saudi Arabian League, it is increasingly known throughout the world, even Ronaldo arrival makes the Saudi Arabian League even more interesting to watch. Apart from that, what has already been said, I totally agree that the Arab League will not be able to make big changes to compete with the European League, even though they have enough money to build their league.

On the other hand European players joining the Saudi Arabian league seem to be at the end of their career and I'm not sure the Saudi Arabian League will really be famous when they don't have Ronaldo anymore. Well all these things of course are build and build and for now they are the best asian tier and it's better than before.

Yes, that's right, at least only the players who may be retiring soon and they will be willing to play here for extra money. Because after all, if the Saudi Professional League becomes more popular then of course there are many young players who are willing to also play here like for example Mbappe, maybe. But yes, as we know, young players will certainly pursue their dreams of playing in Europe. What's more, nowadays there are many European teams owned by wealthy rulers from the Middle East, so they or young players will certainly prefer to play in prestigious competitions in Europe.

The teams in the SPL are currently quite confused because they don't want to recruit young players, they only choose old stars who have extraordinary services even though they have to spend enormous amounts of money, of course for their dreams and targets to be fully achieved in the future (to host the world cup

with the arrival of cristiano ronaldo, ngolo knate and benzema, the spotlight of the football world will go to the SPL, we can say al ittihad and al nassr are very lucky to have these two big stars.
These teams were the much known teams among the entire list of teams. Particularly the competence was high between these two teams as they were the title winners in more numbers. This time Saudi Arabia had been spending big and attracting players towards the league when more number of Europe Club team.

And the Arab League has actually succeeded in attracting the attention of the world of world football after successfully bringing in Cristiano Ronaldo by Al-Nassr last season. And this season another big name from the world of football has also returned to the SPL. He is another legend from Real Madrid, namely Benzema. and of course in the future maybe the SPL will be in the spotlight more and maybe it will be able to compete more with European football competitions. Sometimes financial strength can change things so quickly. But even so, it's still from the European League that has always produced more star players since long ago. but nowadays many Asian players are also starting to take part in European clubs. and that means Asian football will see improvements in the future, including from the Arab League, of course.

Even the best Arab players will want an opportunity to play in Europe. Nothing has really changes in the Saudi league.

Man, the transfer market is not over anything can happen on the last day we still remember when Ronaldo surprisingly moved to AL Nassr
So they can do it this season let's just wait for the announcement, I believe money is not the main problem because we know who's behind this club
what is clear is that old players will be the target of Saudi clubs at least for players over 30 years old.

Th amount of money being splashed by these Arabs doesn't make any sense. I understand that Lionel Messi is one of the best in the world. But an offer of $1.2 billion for two years sounds illogical for me. When they are spending so much money, ROI is not a concern for them. In all probability they are not going to earn even half of that amount from SPL. The real aim is to improve the reputation of the country, so that they stand a chance to win the bid to host FIFA World Cup in 2030. And I have to say that Saudi Arabia is moving in the right direction as of now.
Where the big countries of the world and their clubs did not dare to make such a big offer, but the Saudi clubs are showing that courage. I'm sure the Saudi government has a different plan for football. As they are economically prosperous they have taken such steps to introduce their country to the world. They are doing well in their pursuit of goals, even if they don't get Messi for a big offer. Most football fans believe that by 2030 Saudi Arabia will be able to create one of the leading positions in football.
After the Saudi Arabia League Qatar World Cup ended, they turned their attention to football. They have thought deeply about their country's aim to be known to the world and the Saudi government has more plans. Economically, Saudi Arabia is currently very advanced, already the world's biggest football stars have signed contracts. But they gave more offers to Messi but he didn't go to the Saudi League. But I think the Saudi League is in the current position and in the future they will become the best in the world. Because the Saudi government is currently more fond of football than other managements. This means that the way the Saudi league is offering money to sign football stars will definitely become a popular league in the future.
Yes Now a days Saudi Arabia is very advance. This oil-rich country is now very advance in Football. In Football word cap champion Argentina only defeated from Saudi Arabia. So we think how powerful Saudi Arabia in football. Besides it a Saudi Arabia club wanted to contract with Messi. So we can tell In future Saudi Arabia will be superpower in football today or tomorrow.

Other than that, none other than their goal to attract all the eyes of the world to Saudi Arabia. and in fact, they managed to do it even though it cost a very large fund. maybe, for the prince acquiring four saudi arabia league teams is not a difficult thing for him. that is why, the clubs owned by prince Mohammed bin Salman do not hesitate to bring in stars with very fantastic salaries.
Al Nassr has brought in CR7, Al Hilal has brought in Karim Benzema, there are only two clubs that have yet to find their choice even though they have proposed to several other stars such as Messi. however, none of the players have confirmed that they are willing to play for Al Hilal or Al Ahli. not to forget, Al Shabab will also enliven to bring in stars so that the club can still compete in this competition.

I'm pretty sure, what Suadi is doing is not solely to host the 2030 world cup. But it seems they have a lot of other agendas besides just promoting Saudi. however, I am not really interested in discussing it from a political or cultural perspective. yes, just like what Qatar did before. because, maybe what I say does not refer to what really is.

most people are still keeping deaf ear to Ronaldo statement, that in five years the Saudi Arabia Pro league would be fifth in the world it's not up to a year and the Saudi Arabia clubs are in competition in the transfer market with European top clubs. this is an evidence that, Ronaldo dream will actually come to past.
Today, top players in the world are considering the Saudi Arabai Pro league than some elite clubs in Europe. Benzema and  Kante has joined Ronaldo, by deadline of the Transfer windom, i foresee so many top players in the league, it's possible with the transfer news am seeing. its high time we pay more attention to this evolution in Saudi Arabia Pro league.

@zuzie their intent is very clear that they want to make SPL even bigger then the Premier League and the La Liga hence I believe that they’ll keep acquiring young and old stars from these two leagues primarily. Furthermore Messi isn’t coming but I won’t be surprised if several young star’s ditch their clubs and move to SPL because they can always return back in a year or two but they won’t get this kind of money elsewhere.

No, no league can compete with the leagues in Europe so if the goal is to compete clearly it is wrong they want to attract attention with a mission
SPL isn't the first to do this previously there were leagues in China and America doing the same thing and we know what happened is only temporary
In addition, young players who leave the European leagues will no longer get a place there we already have many examples.
While the appeal of non-European leagues like the Saudi Professional League is understandable, given the likes of Ronaldo still grace their fields, their allure may prove fleeting. As we've seen with the Chinese and American leagues, such phenomena are often transient, and once star players depart, the leagues might lose their charm. The competitiveness and dynamism of European leagues remain unrivaled and continue to attract top talent. Indeed, players leaving European leagues for less competitive ones often find it challenging to return, given the vast talent pool vying for limited spots. Thus, the growth of other leagues should not be overestimated, and their sustainability and long-term success remain to be seen
