I have no plans of saving Bitcoins for my children or grand children but I plan to give them one my unfunded physical Bitcoin as an heirloom specially those silver coins. It looks very good to passed down to generations. I already have a silver wallet, planning to get another one or two more silver wallets.

Bitcoin is a long term project. Therefore is makes sense to save small parts over a long horizon. Do you save Bitcoins for your (grand) child or children?

For those who do not have (grand) children (yet), would you save Bitcoin for them if you would have (grand) children?

i really to save bitcoin for my child, grand children, just in case bitcoin is still online and maybe they can use it and they still remember that their great great grandpa still leave something for them and they will remind that their grandpa was a hero for their family.

and if bitcoin will disappear on online, i think my great great grand children will know that in the past there are bitcoin which the famous cryptocurrency than they knew. i think this will be a great story for our decendants in the future.

i guess not. coz we dont know yet what would happen to bitcoin. its better to use them to build up your future so that if ever your gonna have a grandchild.. they can have what is yours. not your bitcoin.  Grin

Its a good thinking and that is what I am doing right now saving some of my bitcoins for my old age and for my grandchildren. At this point I am also mining cryptonotes using my cpu. Its the best time to mine cryptonotes as its value will be higher during our old age. you can pm me for the link if you want. As for the moment it is wise to save some bitcoins for the future.

I am still bachelor so i even dont have to think or save for my children. I am currently saving for myself and my family but not saving all i have in bitcoin. But i also agree saving bitcoin for long term like for decade could be so much profitable considering the growth bitcoin got in last 4 5 years.

Maybe i will be saving 10 Bitcoins for the future, a paper wallet at the safest place i can ever think of.
Hope those 10 Bitcoins will help my family from any problem in the future.
But i also think, at that time there will be something new and cool than Bitcoins.

I am trying to earn and buy and accumulate what I could so I can hold for the long term. Who knows how much one bitcoin is going to be twenty years from now, but I would keep on doing what I'm currently doing. Bitcoin is just another investment instrument that I am willing to put some of my money in order to help give my (future) kids a better and more stable financial future.

There is a saying: "Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day; teach him how to fish, and he'll eat for a lifetime.". Perhaps more important is to teach them how to earn their own living (or bitcoin).

But meanwhile, I will still keep some for them and only give to them after I am gone. Hopefully by them I have taught them the important value system in life.

I never save bitcoin for them but I just gather a bitcoin and using that for making a business or another investment I can give on them. it's will more useful rather then I give them in bitcoin form

No I dont and I will not do it, better to save FIAT money for them because it is easier to be used.  Not all people are familiar with bitcoin and maybe not interested with it as well.

It will be great to save some bitcoin for my kids.
However, I think if the amount I have can sustain me until the end of my life, without adding more financial burden to them, that will be good enough. The kids will need to grow up and they need to find their way to survive. I can't spoon feed them forever.
Well that is more or less the way this generation is starting to look, to be spoon fed. With all the snapchats, facebooking, twittering going on they are only interested in instant gratification. So leaving anything to do with money to them would be another peg in that board of being lazy and not wanting to work for their money.

I don´t like to be a pessimistic man, but remember that technology is always advancing and we can't foresee what will happen with the bitcoin technology in ten or twenty years, so I am not so sure that storing bitcoins in the very long term might be a reliable investment, my friend.

How you will tell them how to receive this bitcoins after your death? Involving lawyer or other person is security problem.

Its the good idea I think if the value of bitcoin continue to increase with there generation, but what if the price will not increase??? We don't know what will happen but savings is good.

I dont have children yet, but I'm very interested to save my bitcoin for my children if any
someday if I have children I want to giving to them.

Saving for children and family is a good thing, and then it will be responsibility of our children to teach their children about bitcoin and the chain should go on continuously.

I don't have any descendants and have zero plans to squirt any out. However I do like the idea of holding some back to leave to my one thousand cats or pet extreme right wing organisation.

By the time I'm properly old we should be into the true deflationary phase and I'll regret everything I ever bought with it back in the day.
Dear sir, you are a man after my own heart.

No kids, no grandkids.  My goal is to leave everything I own to the drug treatment facility at which I work, stocks, cash, bitcoin, everything that can be sold.  It's a nonprofit that is desperately in need of an endowment--or some sort of alternate funding.

As it stands, not a lot of people know about bitcoin.  Some of my coworkers do but it never comes up in conversation and no one I know actually uses it for anything.  I'm the only live human being I know who uses it.

Sounds more or less like it will be part of a will.
Or if you like it could be part of an inheritance.
But I don't know if a lawyer who handles the estate would know how to pass them on to the grand kids  Undecided
