To be honest i don't really like to invest in bitcoin, i believe the price of bitcoin will keep rising but i think it's hard for me to gain profit more than 10 times in the near future with BTC.

So, i prefer to invest in alts with good potential + low marketcap.
If you just buy BTC and do nothing else with it - in this case - yes, you are unlikely to be able to earn a lot now. And if you conduct active trading based on market analysis, everything is possible!

In my opinion, your choice to split your  investment 30/70 is a good idea.
And what about your 70% alts? Is it a good rating alts? If it is, i suggest you to keep your alts and dont touch it.

Currently it is not the perfect time to buy bitcoin, because we are in AltSeason.
agree, buying bitcoin at a high price is not a wise investment option. If 70% of your portfolio is a token with an affordable value, I'm sure you are getting a pretty decent profit right now, right?

Hi guys,

a question which i had discussed with some of my friends before:

If you were invested heavy in alts but rather light in btc lets say 30% BTC / 70% alts you made a good profit in dollar.
BUT i have the feeling i wasted so much BTC to buy Alts and right now BTC has surpassed many of them by far.

Do you think it would be wise to sell some Alts for BTC right now?
Or is BTC dominance to high?

Really interested in your thoughts!

Kind regards.

It is NEVER a bad idea to sell some of your alts and go bitcoin especially if you are 70% alts.  When the bear comes it will feast on all these alts.  People are going to lose a historic amount of money unfortunately its just the nature of crypto.  So yes should ypu at some point.  HARD YES for sure.

I made that mistake in the past and used my Bitcoin to buy Altcoins. Altcoins went up like crazy and down like crazy. Now I realized I made a mistake. If you want to gamble, put more into Altcoins and if you want to play it more safely, keep more Bitcoin.

There are a lot of projects and that means we should be aware of choosing one of them for investing. Firstly we should make hard research about the project which we want to invest in. Some of these projects have real potential to make you happy in the future, but that doesn't mean all of them will start growing up in the future. l think also that there is nothing to worry about BTC and top altcoins, as you above said they have their own season and if you can be enough patient, you can make a great profit from them in the future.

I absolutely agree with you, I do not have much worry about bitcoin although the price is decreasing right now if we compare to the mid of this month . Also top ten rank altcoins in coinmarketcap, I think the alts will be great for long term investment.

we don't get your hopes up with altcoins, because we don't know what altcoins it holds. If it is true that altcoins have the potential and are in the top 10 list of coinmarketcap I think it is natural to hold, but if altcoins lack the potential why do you have to hold? my advice is to sell and replace it with another good altcoin.
Please note that this is the alt season, so the chances of all the altcoins being a surprise can increase even for new altcoins from an ongoing project.
indeed we cannot deny that to be safer is to hold the potential altcoins that are at the top.
there are already a lot of surprises at the moment for altcoins so it's possible and we won't know which altcoins could rise sharply. all have the same opportunity in alt season like this.

We do not deny that the top-ranking altcoins have more opportunities to increase, but many new ATH forms from altcoins are also not included in the top ranking. so the possibility that everything can get could happen, we just need to analyze properly.

If it was me, i would like to do nothing, let the altcoins keep staying in the wallet until the price pump, if it was value, it will pump sooner or later in this crazy BULL.
May be there is 1000X coin just sleeping in your wallet.

It was always discussed whether if we should hold altcoins or dump them as soon as price reaches certain point. I was always skeptica: I think it is not that bad to hold some great altcoins like Ethereum, BNB or Monero. But it is obviously bad to hold some specific unknown coin that already made %500 over time in bull rally.

Most of the altcoins nowadays are doing good and some are even saying that the alt season has already started, nevertheless bitcoin's performance is still at the top and regardless of the sudden dips which are corrections that are ongoing, it still keeps on achieving a new ATH every time. You cannot say you wasted too much bitcoin for buying alt, neither you wasted too much alt because of investing instead on bitcoin. Actually, both are having the best performance at the moment and any form of investment, no matter what percentage the two are sharing, you can surely gain good profit specially if you are handling your investment right and wisely.

why do you hesitate to choose altcoins over bitcoin? because of the fact that currently bitcoin or altcoin can both get profit, as long as we can be good at processing it well. My advice is to choose between choosing BTC or altcoin according to your wishes, do it well, then make a profit
The moment that bitcoin is stable at its current price, it is the most important time that Altcoins make a proven move, where many altcoins reach ATH. so it is precisely the time that altcoins are held and held to get the same profit as bitcoin.
That's right, said the colleague above, why hesitate to save altcoins where currently the alt season is happening, so it can be said to be as fortunate as holding bitcoin.
Yes you are right it is not necessary to sell altcoins to buy btc this time, if we buy btc we need a big capital because the price of btc is now very high so it means it is very risky. The good strategy for sure is to wait because altcoins season is now happening and it is more exciting if we hold altcoins this time, altcoins also good we only need to choose the best altcoins and hold strong, patience is now more important because we are in a bullish season.

Thanks for the response i already posted my split:

"My precise portfolio is:

BTC: 40%
ETH: 23%
ADA: 12%
VECHAIN: 10%
IOTA: 4%
Link 2%
Last 10%--> AAve, Zil, BQX, LTC, NEO, TRX, GRT, Verge, DOT

i think i will hold on to 70% of my top 4 invests - means selling 30% when bullmarket is ending (indicator for me is Galssode Charts (e.g.NUPL), Crypto Quant outflow/inflow of exchanges and others).I missed that trought the last bullrun and sat to complete bear market Smiley...

And additionally i will sell 70% of my other alts for btc when altseason (which is already there) is peaking out"

Your portfolio is one of the best coins you are holding, which has a higher chance to increase their price. The above mentioned has higher chances to increase their price more than 40X and it will help you to make some decent profit in this bull market.

Do not believe into random people's opinion. Definitely they will shill for their own benefits rather than considering for your profits. I keep on suggesting people to go for 90% in portfolio with bitcoins and for the rest and I am suggesting to go for both real-world investments and in altcoins. Because, bitcoin is having proven track of getting us good returns whereas most altcoins are not performing well in last five years but right now some coins are performing but that doesn't mean in future also we will be having same thing.

Never consider bitcoin dominance for your investment decision. Always have bitcoin in more percentage in your portfolio that will definitely lead you to make unimaginable profits in every cycle of bitcoin.

If you see that altcoin is good for holding and there is a huge investment demand in the market then you can hold on now is the time to keep up with the rising prices of altcoin in the crypto market. With the rise in the price of bitcoin altcoin is rising if we hold on now there is a possibility of big profit in front after bitcoin altcoin is profitable.

you do not need to worry for you are in bitcoin or altcoin. even though you are in altcoin but if it is a good coin and has the potential to give big profits I don't think you need too much in BTC. the most important thing is how to process profits properly
Indeed, both btc and alts are profitable to hold, however, when it comes to altcoins not all of them can grow or pump as much as other alts did because only few of them has a potential to give us huge profit.

Majority of alts are shitcoins without real use case but if you know that you invested in an alts that has potential just keep holding because when alts season occur you wont regret hodling it.

So dont feel bad if you have more alts than bitcoin because they have their own season, just have patience.

What kind of alts are you holding? If its an establish one then stay still. Alts season will occur in time, keep in mind that investing on alts are profitable as well but sometimes it doesnt happen during btc bullrun, it has a season on its own.

Just hold your altcoins because its not a bad decision to allocate 70% for it. If you want to join the ride of btc IMO you need additional capital to buy, however not at this moment because the price is so expensive.

Nice man! Thank you very much for the input!

It fully depends on which alts you are holding. There is no simple answer to that question and even if someone knows what you are holding, there will still be many different opinions as to what is worth holding and what should be sold.

Almost every coin has its own community and fans. DOGE is one example of how powerful the fan community surrounding a coin can be. Although other coins are technically better, they have no chance to surpass DOGE because it has such a strong and large fan base. That's how the decentralized world works.
