It all depends on your goals when buying cryptocurrencies, you can earn on other currencies! Bitcoin is of course the main currency, but its rate varies more slowly.

If you ask me now, I will buy more Bitcoin and more ethereum . This two is still the best cryptocurrency for me, and I know before the market fully recover this two are the closest thing that can trigger the market comeback.

Both are best. But from my opinion, you can buy bitcoin now.
Bitcoin is more powerful and more using by many investor so its price will be more profitable than ethereum.

In my opinion I think you should buy a good coin which is less expensive than bitcoin among the top 20 altcoin on coin market cap. Bitcoin has already climb the ladder and some other coin we also do in the future do your research.
