I do not think that you need to convert all bitcoins into ethereum. if i have bitcoin, i dont sell or convert with eth or other coin, because bitcoin is main coin who have 50%+ dominance at market, but if want make to anthor profit dont sell all your bitcoin, thats my opnion
Of course in may it was profitable to get out of the market and go right now ! But at the moment I would invest an hour of bitcoins in Ethereum and wait for the change of the current situation in the market !
Ethereum has more growth potential in the long term in my view. But we have seen, it is not as stable as Bitcoin, and so it could also go even lower in case the downtrend does not stop.

I always believe in the great potential of these coins, because they are really important for the development of the entire crypto market. Therefore, I now do not see the point in such a conversion of money. It is better just to continue to hold their BTC and Ethereum, next year the situation will necessarily normalize. 
Maybe it's not a good idea because I see that Bitcoin is also experiencing growth and it is very important to have a Bitcoin. I will try to buy the Ethereum without having to sell the Bitcoin I have. It depends on you and the results of your analysis, if you think that selling BTC to buy altcoins is the right choice for you, then do it. But, i think it's better to hold both because both are equally beneficial and to reduce the risk if one experiences a decline.
Its not a bad Idea but the question is will you get the expected returns if you make that change. But if I were you I will maintain my BTC like that and hold on for the future.
You can convert a part of your Bitcoins convert in Ethereum, but it is important to know that Bitcoin is stronger than Ethereum. If you want to invest in some ICO then you can hold some Ethereum.
I think ethereum is very strong and it’s very important for the crypto market. But i wouldn’t convert my bitcoins to ethereum now. Bitcoin might bring more benefits in a better market condition.

Now to stupidity. ETH has a huge problem. The prognosis is very bad. I have not seen goodness for the next few years. in 2022 the price is to be nadak in the area of 200 $
Now maybe good time for that. Beucase eth btc pair is really low. Generally if we look at the graphs Btc's value increase firstly. So i am not sure about that. ETH BTC pair is really low but i cant be sure it is the dip or not.
