I do not think so. Their token is not related to their technology. Even if tomorrow the token will not cost anything - the technology will work. And vice versa - if tomorrow all banks of the world start using ripple, this will not affect the demand of the token in any way.
Yes, you should invest in ripple, I like those who recommend spending in ripple because we are the ones who own it. Ripple is Altcoin is very potent because it is guaranteed by some banks to provide a stable money supply, the value will drop very low when the market goes down and a steady growth rate.

Personally feel that the payment technology of the ripple itself is very valuable. The xrp itself does not have too high a value attribute, and the current speculation is too strong.
