A Great Time to Start Something!
Sounds just like the US to be honest, the incarceration rate of black americans compared to whites is insane

The overall incarceration rate is way over the average in the United States. Even for the non-Hispanic whites, the rate is much higher when compared to the same in Canada or the United Kingdom. The main reason for this high incarceration rate is the so called "war on drugs". More than a million people are currently incarcerated on drug related offences. And almost none of them are drug lords.

Yep, the United States leads the world in only three categories.

1) Number of incarcerated citizens per capita
2) Number of adults who believe angels are real
3) Defense spending

lol, i saw that episode of the newsroom as well. Show didn't hold up for me though.

That one Newsroom "rant" was epic, way above average for American TV.  Smiley

The U.S. isn't tough - it's fucked. It's the one of the worst criminal justice systems in the world and on par with Somalia.

Quote
The United State of America is the only country in the world where children as young as 13 years old have been sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole. 2484 children have been sentenced as adults in the United States. Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) has documented 73 cases where children 13-14 years of ages had been condemned to death in prison. 70% of these children are minority. EJI attorneys had interviewed one Alabama inmate that is serving a life imprisionment for an offense that occurred when he was 15. Since being incarcerated in an adult prison, this boy has been repeatedly raped.  This boy's story is not unusual. Death in prison sentences are imposed in the United States are a rate at least three times higher today than 15 years ago. These children should be re-sentenced to parole-eligible sentences as soon as possible. It is a shame that the United State of America, known to be the land of opportunity and freedom, can be compared in terms of Juvenile Criminal Laws to one of the poorest countries in the word, with civil wars, pirates, and having the worst cases of human's rights violations for their civilians; "Somalia". The United States and Somalia are the only countries in the world with the death sentence for children ages 13,14,15,16,and 17 years old. 132 countries have rejected the death sentence altogether.

True, but Somalia doesn't carry their sickness into other countries, while the US does it all the time. The US justice system is extremely imperialistic and even gets people in trouble who have never done anything wrong in the USA. Swiss bankers, offshore gambling, Kim Dotcom, and there are millions of other victims of US justice running amok around the globe  Angry.

You need to add in Bradley Manning into the mix of people that need to be shot dead.

Shot for exposing war crimes by the US military in Iraq? Strange logic that, maybe if America actually followed international law and Geneva conventions there wouldn't be anything to expose in the first place.

He probably wants a website operator like Ross Ulbricht to get imprisioned for life and Edward Snowden to get the death penalty for treason. Boy, somebody drank the kool-aid. It's idiots like that that make me glad Murrica is a sinking ship. I'll drown but at least I know he'll go with me.

Yeah, we always had people like you, but earlier, the population was like 1% or 2%. Now I am seeing a spike in the pro-FBI type posters, especially among the Noobs and Junior Members. I wonder what attracted all these people, all of a sudden to the Bitcointalk. Perhaps FBI trying to suppress the negative reation from public, to the recent Ross Ullbrict sentencing?

Snowden, manning, all trash. Spines of jellyfish, crossdressing confused sad pathetic precious snowflakes playing at being revolutionaries.
Well nevertheless, life is a pretty long time for ol' Ross.  He sure chose a silly project to develop.  Can't say that spending life in prison was worth that.  I wonder how he feels now that it is all settling in.  He's had a few days to be with his thoughts on the matter.

Just because you are developing your drug trade and hit man hiring enterprise from behind the monitor doesn't make it any less risky. Nevermind criminal.

Also, enough with btching about how what he did isn't bad. A lot of people have had it with fools on this forum who thinks they can decide what's right and wrong (based on which end of the stick they are holding).

He tried to play the joker and now the world is laughing at him. He tried to play the mastermind with hiring hit men and what not, and is now paying the price for his impudence and disrespect.

The fact that he is a weak willed spineless kid makes it worse, not better. At best, it is a reason for severe derision and contempt, all fully justified.

Surprise - other people can fck you too.

Here's my earlier statement on Ulbricht:

One less flunky to get in bitcoin's way. He fk'd with fire and now his ass is scorched.

Unless you think it's your right to fk around with other people without being fk'd back like a dumbass kid, there is little reason to sympathize.

Let's not btch and bulsht about technicality that allowed attempted murder charges to be dropped. He clearly thought he could act a kingpin boss behind a monitor and is now revealed to be what most of you are when you get called out for your intentions. The fact that he is a pathetic pssy does nothing to mitigate the fact that he was clearly messing above his paygrade.

The fact that most of you are all of a sudden so eager to nitpick and btch about legal technicalities and what is 'fair' when tables are turned tells any sensible individual how pathetic you all are, just like this kid.

Less kids and fools like him, the better. Now, if theymos or others involved in scams and delusional sense of untouchability are prosecuted, we can do away with the infant stage of crypto currency and finally move it all mainstream in a substansive way.  Cheesy

Snowden, manning, all trash. Spines of jellyfish, crossdressing confused sad pathetic precious snowflakes playing at being revolutionaries.

Really, more of these people being exposed for pssys that they are is a benefit to our nation. The fact that they can't keep themselves in check and mouths shut just proves their worthlessness.

I mean have people seen snowden's 'girlfriend's blog? I was sure I was reading some 12 year old prepubescent girl's whining about getting her first period.

Like attracts like. See the company a 'man' keeps to know his worth.

And to think these 'people' are called heroes....LOL  Cheesy

How about:

1) Farm/agricultural output that far outpaces rest of the world with only a fraction of the available domestic resources and potential

Wrong: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_producing_countries_of_agricultural_commodities

2) Number of graduates who go on to become leading figures in all corners of world industry by a large margin

Yes, and most of those students are here on student visas and are citizens of another country.

3) Greatest number of criminals actually caught as opposed to the rest of the world where at least 9.5/10 you get away scott free with murder, rape, thievery, etc.

Oh, so you like a nice full jail so the Corrections Corporation of America stays nice and rich. You're an idiot.

4) Largest concentration of wealth and wealthy individual despite all the btching and moaning after they come here to live and send their kids to school here (because US so evil amirite?), and let's not even mention they stash their money here as safer less volatile alternative compared to say fcking china.

Wrong again dumbass. The U.S. may have the largest number of millionaires, but tiny Singapore rules the world when it comes to the highest concentration. According to Boston Consulting Group's latest Global Wealth report, an astounding one in 10 households in Singapore have investible assets of $1 million or more.Sep 5, 2008

5) Best doctors in the world, even with the clunky medical insurance system. When a big shot or celebrity, not to mention anyone with decent means look for expert of experts, they place US as a place of choice 9/10. Besides, if you manage your insurance right, you get what you paid for. Insurance system does not preclude your own responsibility to prepare for contingencies and emergencies that arise on...your own body. Some things are individual responsibilities - managing your insurance accordingly is one of them.

Wrong again! These Are The 36 Countries That Have Better Healthcare Systems Than The US: http://www.businessinsider.com/best-healthcare-systems-in-the-world-2012-6#36-costa-rica-1

6) Cops who mostly are professional and straight forward (you would know not to btch and moan about cops in US if you ever lived in a real criminal/totalitarian regime), only with exception of worst neighborhoods - even than there is a pretty big gap in 'abuse' and real corruption that rest of the world understand. At least 99.9% of them don't even dream of demanding bribes on traffic stops. Every time some spoiled fool whines about police brutality in US I have to laugh my voice hoarse because of how pathetic and soft they sound. You are all mouth and attitude, no backbone.

Police in the US Kill Citizens at Over 70 Times the Rate of Other First-World Nations

7) Contrary to popular misconception, the manufacturing and industrial capacity of US is simply partially unused, not non-existent as many alarmist claim. Even with fractional usage, US still leads the world in aviation manufacturing, heavy machinery production especially in design and research, and now energy and next generation power technology such as shale to begin with. Once again, that's only with fraction of what can be used - this is thanks to economic and profit margin benefits of offshore manufacturing, not the potential of industrial power. Any objective study would recognize these as facts.

Do you ever get anything right? According to the latest research from the United Nations, China has further outpaced its competitors in world manufacturing, generating $2.9 trillion in output annually versus $2.43 trillion from the U.S., the world’s second-largest manufacturing economy.

Over the last two years, China’s manufacturing sector has made strong gains, while the U.S. has been mired in economic and political doldrums.

“In 2011, China’s manufacturing output surged by 23 percent while manufacturing output in the U.S. only increased by 2.8 percent,” the American Enterprise Institute explains. “That brought China’s manufacturing output last year to more than $2.9 trillion, which was almost half a trillion dollars (and 20 percent) more manufacturing output than the $2.43 trillion of manufacturing output that was produced in the U.S. last year.”

You should remember your place instead of thinking how your spoiled 1st world ass can decide what 'corruption' and 'fault' means

You're obviously a serious dumbass. See above and read a book once in a while.

Nice job cherry picking details of each sources that only proves my point. Maybe you can't even read your own 'evidence' that points out how US takes a good large chunk of production and wealth even while using just fraction of its resources Smiley

I can assure you 70 times is too little compared to all the criminals running out there. I doubt a spoiled mouthy white bread like you know what it really means to live as a minority in corrupt and crime ridden places around the world.

Also, majority of those graduating from US colleges to go on to top positions are not foreigners, but Americans, though foreign visas are disproportionately over represented. Even than, it does not change the fact that those very foreigners cannot rely on their own resources to achieve the same end - they must seek help from American hands.

US is only lagging behind half a trillion with one hand tied behind its back with overwhelming regulations and taxes, while china operating red hot full steam with absolute exploitative plutocracy (the real one, not one you btch and moan about in US in the comfort of your warm living room couch) can only stay ahead with overwhelmingly corrupt business practice and full government collaboration that would make wall st. blush in shame. Once again, I don't expect your kind to know what real corruption and plutocracy is Grin

Funny how you quickly turn to irrelevant business insider source sired by the very people you try to feebly mock (money'd elites) - go ask johns hopkins or NIH how many foreigners flock to US for treatment since their own doctors have proven unreliable.

Maybe you also forget to mention how singapore, a city state, has a disproportionate number of 'registered residents' of high wealth bracket who live elsewhere? It is also something of a tax haven for wealthy, but I assure you US attracts far more in numbers of those who seek to secure their wealth and otherwise stash their money away long term. Also funny you can't argue how they btch and moan while trying to take advantage of American resources and wealth, and patsy btch like you are busy sucking their cocks day in and out with your pathetic spineless attitude seeking their approval Smiley

You can tell just how easily he likes to pick and choose what he wants to read, since his very own sources are either irrelevant or proves my point exactly (how convenient you ignore my full statement and try to 'disprove' parts - hence twisting the interpretations into what you think is easier to argue. Note you ignoring many of the  statements that you can't disprove or other wise ignore such as educational advantages, or my repeated emphasis on competing with partial resources).

This fking dipsht is exactly the kind that need to be taught a lesson in objectivity and proper place. Bet the btch thinks he knows better than others about his own country that he like to btch at so much Cheesy

Hmm... so the US lags in agricultural production, with the exception of GM corn.

Oh, so you like a nice full jail so the Corrections Corporation of America stays nice and rich. You're an idiot.

2.5 million people currently incarcarated. Out of that 1 million on simple drug offences.

Wrong again dumbass. The U.S. may have the largest number of millionaires, but tiny Singapore rules the world when it comes to the highest concentration. Also, the wealth distribution in the US is pretty skewed, unlike countries such as Qatar and Singapore.

In this aspect, even third world nations such as Nepal are better than the US.
