For sure, everybody should remember the fist Bittrex IEO, where they cancelled the sale few hours before the launch, because it turned out that they lied about partnerships. Be advised and always check the projects before taking part in them.

Such precedents are already on the exchanges who do not hesitate to work with frank scam projects. In such dark deeds, Latoken and Yobit exchanges were observed. Do not mess with these sites if you do not want problems.

Yeah.. I wouldn't be too willing to participate in IEO on a small exchange. Small exchanges have not fully gotten the trust that's needed to attract a lot of users. But it will help if the people behind the exchange conduct kyc so that the community would not be left in the dark. Almost everyone knows the person behind binance, thus, that as brought about an amount of trust.
And also it will be nice if the exchange does a serious kyc for the team behind any project that want to conduct an IEO on their exchange.

One thing about IEO is an upgrade of ICO. we shouldn't all expect not to fall into some projects that are scammed,  lauching their IEO . I bought an IEO and the telegram group, the website just shutdown. Yes there's a probability some IEO are scam.

As an investor, i cannot participate in IEO conducted by small and new exchanges. The main reason why IEOs are preferred to ICOs is because they are more prone to scam than ICOs, and this is because the exchange validates its legality with their reputation. Imagine Binance or any top exchange conducting a scam project, it will jeopardize their integrity, and these exchanges do not want their integrity in question, so they only offer legit and promising projects IEO. New exchanges do not have the reputation to validate a project, they are just after the profit, SO they might promote a scam project either intentionally or unintentionally.

The new exchange has a low trading volume
when the development team wants to do an IEO on a new exchange, it will encourage investors to trade there. I think more crypto exchanges are better, but always be careful when trading and I will see project details before investing

I am already aware of this problem. As far as IEO projects are concerned, things will boil down to the reputation and track records of the exchange where the crowdfunding is held. We should be avoiding exchanges that are not reliable as they can be introducing scam projects for the sake of money. Just because a project is doing an IEO does not automatically mean that it is genuine and will succeed in the marketplace.

This is not subject to any doubt, which is why to participate in the IEO on major exchanges, such as Binance, it is necessary to have a certain number of exchange tokens on your account. This method primarily attracts large investors and gives them a guaranteed opportunity to purchase tokens. While on new and small exchanges the quality of projects is questioned and does not guarantee any profit.

There's always a possibility, even if the IEO is from a reputable exchange like Binance, that the IEO project will close shop and not deliver. It's in the Terms and Conditions of joining any IEO's.

Funds not SAFU in IEO's.  Grin

I don't think that IEO means lesser chance of a scam project. It is just a different fundraising mechanism.
Exchanges verifying the projects? Yeah, Binance maybe. But given the fact that most exchanges are scams too, and they play along with the ICOs, I don't see a reason for them to verify anything.
They are in the fee collection business.

Small exchanges can still do an IEO provided that there are no issues in the past about their exchange, this is a good way to prove that they can compete with big exchanges if they can handle IEO.

Actually, there are huge skepticism about small exchanges running IEOs because the hype hasn't come yet. Should there be the hype again, they're all gonna run very successful projects but you're right tho, proper research should be done before joining IEOs.
It's not because Hype, the skepticism about small exchanges running IEO is that the exchanges hasn't yet become reliable and proven to be trusted, the devs that want their project listed on small exchanges' IEO could bribe them anyway.
That's why there's no guarantee that an IEO will not turn scam if the hoster is small exchanges that is not popular even worse the exchanges is created only for IEO and just recently.

Yes it will surely come true because no one will guaranty this IEO a 100% legit project this is only a hype since the popularity of IEO are being spread in crypto world because its sound new like what happen when ICO first introduce in the market and look what happen so many project turn to scam.

Scams can easily sneak into even the most trusted exchanges like Binance, because in crypto scams come in different forms. Simply taking money and disappearing is the most obvious, but scammers can also just fake activity for years, while getting more and more profit by dumping their stash and manipulating the market, and in the end they'll just say "sorry, our project failed" and close their project - and they'll face no repercussions for that, and people wouldn't even know that they were scammed.

It's highly unlikely foe an IEO to turn out as a scam because the exchange won't risk their reputation to hold a scam IEO. I'm not saying it isn't possible but it's highly unlikely.

really? have you seen the reputation of some of the exchanges that are out there? They are scammy themselves! Take yobit for example, any IEO that they conduct is surely going to be a shit one. Even if it has immediate buyers.
Yobit is very well known as the shittiest exchange site in the history because there were hundreds of scam coins launched on its exchange site. But another possibility like latoken because most of IOEs that listed on latoken were garbage projects. I knew some small exchange sites which were having the same potential to listed scan ICO too.
That guy is was definitely never try to do research.

Indeed, for small exchanges, it is very vulnerable to scams project, especially I think the small exchanges don't have due diligence, even though their status are still a small market, they also have to pay attention to the project they are holding, not just chasing money in my opinion and for now it is better to follow the ieo held by large exchanges only unless there is indeed a good ieo held on small exchanges.

As I said from before here, there will be holes also with this kind of offering.

I am just really worried with a lot of newbies that may become a victim of this kind of projects.
I mean, why not just stay with the legitimate ones and wait for them to increase in value.
Why do we have to be so much greedy supporting a project that have way too much risk.

Why not just stay bitcoin and be patient.
Yes we all have a choice but a better one is being offered already.

I agree people should only go for IEO that held their crowdfunding on a big exchange like what you posted Binance and other exchange as equal as Binance, scammers will shift their target to IEO because they cannot squeeze more funds in ICO anymore.

Well, irrespective of the fact the IEO seem secure than ICO, it is essential you do research on the project before you invest in it as some IEO projects might also be scam

Most of IEOs are turning to be a scam, people don't even read about founders and product like it used to be in case of ICO.
So I think that things should be changed , crypto should get rid of scams
