Comoros earned me some good coin in qualifications, too bad I wrote them off this tourney or would have scored on their upset. Just too random for me to bet on, but I do hope to see Senegal take a win today. Egypt value bet at over 3/1 you think?

Did you see the stampede during the Cameroon - Comoros game?
Apparently 8 dead so far, with additional 7 in critical condition.

I laugh when they get the anthems wrong, when their referees signal the end of the game 10 min in advance and when all these organizational mistakes occur but things like these should never happen. If they are not ready to host these competitions, they should simply not be held at all.

Didn't even know this happened, no, and it's always senseless to me when it happens. I'm reading more now about other incidents too, it's no laughing matter for sure, am at a loss at how to punish organisers when this happens.

That is actually not so true since we have some connected costs. You don't want to play there
* 5% manipulative costs, this gets deducted from every stake instead incorporated in bookie margin. This is the reason why I always have "better odds" there
* 10% tax on every winning ticket. And this is the reason why I am usually not betting there, not possible to be in profit in long run

That is why I am always using sportsbet odds when writing my tips and I explicitly mention it is local fiat bookie when checking something like this. When I have the time and will I actually calculate proper fiat odds.

But they have the best UI interface I ever used and I am always using them to find my games and markets. Maybe I just got so used to it.

I actually never checked out the tax on sportsbetting here where I am, I do know that all the lotteries and other games of chance and casinos are all tax free winnings. But first time I ever heard of manipulative costs... back home it's a simple entertainment tax which you pay on top of your wager, and that's 10%, with winnings not taxable themselves (which is a better deal for the government I guess).

Like you, the only reason I still use regular books is they're much faster and better than crypto books atm for interface. I remember using William Hill almost 20 years ago (they actually sent a CD to my house good old days of no KYC and no country block haha and I remember even on dialup connection, smooth, but that's probably because you were only downloading data as the software was fully installed)... and then Betfair later on, and I still think they had the smoothest experience. SB comes pretty close I would say, except their search or filter function doesn't seem to be as good as anything else contemporary.

Did you see the Comoros goal for 2-1? If you didn't, go check it - it's a 40-yard freekick screamer. Kinda seemed like Cameroon had a player in goal Grin

Comoros was really good throughout the tournament, they can be proud of their yesterday's performance too - no matter the loss.

agree, Comoros was more than a good rival to Cameroon, with 10 men squad, they did not parked the bus in front of their goal
well, they earned my vacation attention Smiley

Senegal and Morocco today, will we see surprises? Malawi would be really a shocker, but Cape Verde have a chance with Senegal

I'd say Comoros really should be proud of themselves and go home with their heads held high, it was a great performance from them, despite their unfortunate circumstances.
Did not watch the game but I can't believe they were that close with 10 man and without a goal keeper. Obviously the guy that took the position was at least somewhat competent as goal keeper. Any comments if somebody actually watched the game?

How can you contradict yourself in one post, how do you win a game without a proper GK in the goal post? Not impossible but yo need a miracle.
How do you know he is contradicting himself? I tried to read that post several times and got nothing except a headache Smiley If I remembered to make this topic as self edited I would have nuked the post and spared the rest of you from the pain of reading it.

Three red cards in four games is becoming very irritating; this is a knockout stage, and the referees need to pay closer attention to details before issuing cards.

It's as though the referees aren't using their own initiatives whatsoever, they just follow the textbook guidelines of FIFA relating to fouls and make really absurd decisions that tends to ruin games even from the very get go, as a referee your call is the final say whether or not you're being signaled to make a review by the VAR. Today's red card for Comoros and that of Nigeria's yesterday were extremely absurd to say the least neither of them are worthy of an outright red card (at most a yellow), these aren't intended tackles, with both players in pursuit of the ball and without raising the legs above normal, but you really can't determine how fast an opponent would stretch his leg. It really just shows the lack of understanding of the game by them because these decision are usually the determining factors of the outcome of the game more often than not.

I'd say Comoros really should be proud of themselves and go home with their heads held high, it was a great performance from them, despite their unfortunate circumstances.

Comoros have good players, so deemed it fit, goal keeper can not really make them to lose match today except that the players refused to guide the goal keeper since the superior Keep is not there, Cameroon football team can not be use to compare to Comoros because their players is strong like Senegal team, let us watch. But am not assuring Comoros goal

The red card early into the game dashed all hopes of a possible upset I'd say but for Comoros to have stayed in the game for that long and remain disciplined while also make some threats on goal, you've really got to commend them. They could have as well equalized but thanks to Onana's brilliance in goal.
Today, Onana was excellent, which is why having a good goalkeeper in a team is so crucial; it gives the squad confidence, and when the team isn't performing well, a good goalkeeper always comes to the rescue.

Even though they were reduced to ten men in the first half, the Comoros still showed more attacking threats than Cameroon in the second part of the game. From what I saw, I believe the game would have been different if Comoros had a full team. Cameroon has conceded more goals than any other team in the tournament, and I believe their defense is weak.

It doesn't matter to me anyway we've seen a lot of surprises here already so I already took Comoros to win @ 67 Odds last night, I'm not anticipating a win for them, but I'd like to be against the bookies should something dramatic want to happen.

it would be a winner, if Comoros would held to half-time, anyway
maybe I will put something as well

regarding first match, according to stats, it was a bit better than the rest, and Gambia is going to next round, had exact score in the pool Smiley

Nice one there with the Gambia pick, I went with Guinea though.

There's no way back for the Comoros from here, I'd say. All things just keeps working in the favor of Cameroon.

Sorry guys, you're right. I don't know what I seen earlier but now I'm looking it is indeed 24 to 26/1. I was pretty damn sure I was looking at the right market though
i saw it too, it was @12 earlier today, and not just on sportsbet, i checked pinnacle and bet365 and they had around the same odds... weird

anyway, i put a fiver on comoros to win (cos why not) and 5 minutes in and they got a red card LOL

and Gambia with yet another upset... Malawi and/or Cape Verde to qualify worth a tenner or what? how about red cards? 4 out of 4 games in this round had a red card... Sending off @4.5 odds in both games tomorrow

why the heck is Cameroon to win @1.04 on bookies? yeah, I get it that they are favorites against Comoros, but @1.04 is really humiliating in this AFCON full of surprises? or host has to be in semi-final according to rules?

It's not because they're the favourite it's because the Comoros team is said to be depleted and they'd even be having an outfield player in goal for the game. It doesn't matter to me anyway we've seen a lot of surprises here already so I already took Comoros to win @ 67 Odds last night, I'm not anticipating a win for them, but I'd like to be against the bookies should something dramatic want to happen.

Funny your local bookies are always way better than crypto @Trofo, here there is only one legal bookie and their odds are Pinnacle-ish or worse. Wonder if they'd let me play? Haha. The one we have here is the worst ever. Never give promos, or if they do, it's maybe for 2 euros or something.

Comoros first keeper is injured and their other 2 keepers got covid positive tests the other day and they can't call new players. Meaning Comoros will not have a goal keeper in this match and I guess bookies do not trust outfield players on the goal very much Smiley

Should be interesting to see. I will probably root for Comoros just for the kick of supporting the underdog. Checked them out on google, maybe even a holiday location one day.

Sorry guys, you're right. I don't know what I seen earlier but now I'm looking it is indeed 24 to 26/1. I was pretty damn sure I was looking at the right market though, cause I drafted a ticket (and I generally check on Fairlay or Betfair just to get a good idea of "fair" odds. BF is now 35/1. Sky was 66/1 I saw but it's a promo boost... only one guy I know in forum who uses them.

I still think those are odds too respectful of Comoros =p

But still, soon as it gets Super Boost on SB I'll try see if they give 30/1. And then do an acca with Liverpool v Chelski on it, why not?

Tunisia without most players, and getting into next round, typical AFCON 2022
just AFCON things
i've been avoiding Afcon bets lately, but i might go for some small stake bets in the remaining underdogs 🤔

So tell me, even after all the crap Comoros has had to go through, after now knowing they have no keeper to put between the posts, their odds are STILL so shitty to bet on? 12/1 against Camebloodyroon... I'm so disgusted with the odds haha.
i saw @34 yesterday, wth happened? what do the bookies know that we don't
Where are you checking those odds buwaytress? I just checked on Sportsbet and they have it @25, with boost almost 27. Double from what you have seen. I can get @35 in my local bookie but only if I play 6x multi. So I am considering playing something like 1EUR for 1M EUR Smiley

Anyway, sorry about Nigeria igehhh. I put them in my picks AND in 4-3-free but at least avoided adding them to my footie accas. Not that it matters, I haven't been winning anything special this week or last.

And yes, Trofo haha African holiday islands that aren't on the mainland are... pretty unique if you can actually get yourself a cheap ticket to go. I spent a couple of weeks in Seychelles and it was seriously pretty close to Asia in terms of lifestyle. But totally different types of waters and food.

The best losers from the group round have just eliminated the finest winners. This is what you get when you bench your first choice keeper and replace him with a Model of a goalie since all the girls like him and even my granny could save the ball. The most vexing aspect is that Tunisia was without ten players.

Unfortunately for them, the goalkeeper position is the most difficult to fill. It is not possible to simply convert someone into a goalkeeper, which is why it is always a good idea to teach defenders basic goalkeeping rules. John Terry was that guy at Chelsea, and he played that role several times when the squad was in such situation. Why are the players in this round obtaining positive cases?

I didn't expect Nigeria to be eliminated from Tunisia as Tunisia was not playing at their best during group stage while Nigeria shined at group stage. Most probably it was because of the red card that completely removed Nigeria hopes to at least draw and to make the game to go to additional time.I think this was a surprise result but in this stage of the tournament nothing is to be considered a surprise as it is just one match in which anything can happen.
